I have not cried in years, in my opinion physical pain is not something o cry over, but emotional pain is fine.

The same applies for both genders. Its alright to feel bad, but to make a show of it is unseemly. A little glisten in the eye is perfectly acceptable, but if a person plans to do that heavy mourning like a child, it should not be in the public

When I see or hear something beautiful, something really beautiful, I don't feel ashamed at the moisture at the corners of my eyes.

No, I completely disagree with it. A real man knows that expressing your emotions is key to both emotional and mental health. To repress your emotions is to try and compensate for some other facet of your life.

I think that phrase is bullshit.

Guys shouldn't let retarded social expectations hold back their basic human emotions.

My dad is one of the toughest guys around, and I've seen him cry. (You'd cry too if you had to raise a teenaged girl by yourself.) I always thought that whole 'Real men don't cry' stuff was utter bullshit.

If he has a good reason to cry, he should cry. Besides, a "real man" knows when to fuck what other people think about him anyways.

Real men don't care, they just do. Crying is a perfectly healthy thing, and needed when it is invoked. Repressing it for the sake of dickweeds who view showing emotion as being girl-ish is just stupid.

I think crying is great, healthy, and beautiful. I wish I could cry more often. Unfortunately there just isn't much that can move me to tears, at most I have a small cry once a year. I don't know why but It's just not in me anymore.

Repression is NOT for pussys. I would personally disdain any man who cried "anytime at anything". Men should be able to hold themselves together and not be governed by their emotions. Men who cant control their emotions are often men who beat their wives/children, and sometimes rapists. Repression is a good skill.

More like macho jag-offs that have swallowed so much of the gender stereotype that they think that the only music they can listen to is Lil' Wayne, or else they're a pussy. These subhuman pig-men will end up abusing their wife and children, alienating everyone that ever loved them, and die alone and cold in some alleyway. Real people cry, because real people feel emotion.

Really now? Real men dont cry? Horse PLOP!

Though its funny to think that real men dont cry. I suppose when soldiers cry tehy're not real men cause they watched their friend step on a landmine and get his guts thrown through the trees around htem like christmas Tinsel (stories you get told when you're great grandfather is a WW2/Korea vet.) I suppose when mom or dad dies you're not a real man cuase you cry.

I think real men are ones who dont care that they cry. REAL men accept themselves. Thats why every out of the closet homosexual is a real man, why the people who bash them are just pathetic (if not inbred).

Yes.. I'm exceedingly liberal. But i think people should be allowed to live the life they chose without persecution.

It depends on your definition of 'crying'. I consider it to be something that you do willingly, rather than your bodies natural reaction to certain things.

I never let myself cry over what most people do, though I bawled over a few movies.

Hell no, i cried like a ***** at the end of Blade Runner.

On a serious note, no. Every man i hold in regard admits to crying when the emotions are high enough. Hell, my old cage fighting instructor cried when he had a little girl.

I don't see why men aren't supposed to cry. I think anyone should be able to cry whenever.

In my opinion a man shouldn't be devoid of emotions, he should be in control of them. In my experience a man is usually looked upon as a pillar of stability for many things and should be the rock that others can rely on in a pinch. Does this mean that you can't cry? No, it doesn't. What it does mean is that you shouldn't cry in front of others. Be a man and own up to your problems if you can't completely overcome them. In short, suck it up, you've got important man things to do. Like fix the sink... or pick up the kids from school... or do pushups.

If not crying makes me more manly, then I must be Chuck Fucking Norris. I thought I was just a sociopath. Thanks for clearing that up.

(on-topic: There are times when it's ok for a man to cry, but they're VERY limited---death of his dog, his father, or his children, that sort of thing.)
