Square Enix has openly admittedly FFXIII will be of similar quality to its earlier predecessors, citing FFX as a key component of how the story will be told, thus your preverbal campfire scenes, heavy emphasis on character development and so forth are present. If you found FFX appealing I recommend offering FFXIII at least a rental.Xvito said:Probably not...
Final Fantasy X was really good, but the others haven't even been close to that one...

...Really? Well, that makes me feel like an asshole. I only played 1, 2, and 7-12, but I just assumed they all had male leads because, you know, Japan and sexism.lordlee said:Both of the main characters of FF6 were female.Sonofadiddly said:13 is the first Final Fantasy with a female main protagonist and if you don't want it you're a sexist bastard.
Haha, just kidding, you guys are great.
But yeah, I want FF13 more than I want a game that dispenses kittens out of the consol every time you play it. Because it's the first Final Fantasy with a female lead and I thought 12 was pretty good. That's right, GOOD. I just hope they consentrate more on making the plot compelling this time.
Also the writing was what made 12 good.
I just pray that the characters will be better in 13 than in 10. Please, god, let them have depth! And be less annoying! And if the plot could make a little bit of sense, that would be nice, too.Bourne said:Square Enix has openly admittedly FFXIII will be of similar quality to its earlier predecessors, citing FFX as a key component of how the story will be told, thus your preverbal campfire scenes, heavy emphasis on character development and so forth are present. Nonetheless I would not be astonished if FFXIII out sells Mass Effect 2. The series is immensely popular. It is definitely upon my "Must buy" list.
