Poll: So is anyone getting FF13?

Nope, I have a burning hatred for 13 year olds whining in my ear for 20 hours on end, no thanks.
Of course I'm fucking getting it. I own copies of every Final Fantasy with the sole exceptions of V, which is a shame, and XI, which is common sense. I was great. VII was great. X was great. XII was great. Fuck it, X-2 had enough good points for me to play till 100%! So jog on, you spoony bards.
Maybe, I was really stoked about it at first. But after I heard some things about it, like it being more action orientated and less story driven, I'm now a little iffy on it. I might rent it first, just to be safe. I even heard theres going to be no towns where you can go in and buy stuff and just relax, that too made me a little iffy.
eh, I've had a falling out with JRPGs, and I from what I've seen, I'm really unimpressed. It looks like a rental, but even that...meh. "Nah, I'll pass" for me.
I think I'll just end up renting it. I'm saving my money for Bioshock 2 when it comes out this month and I don't have the time for FF's 200+ hour epic story at the moment.
Maybe, but not for a while. The first RPG I plan to get this year is Half-Minute Hero for the PSP
Square Enix has openly admittedly FFXIII will be of similar quality to its earlier predecessors, citing FFX as a key component of how the story will be told, thus your preverbal campfire scenes, heavy emphasis on character development and so forth are present. If you found FFX appealing I recommend offering FFXIII at least a rental.Xvito said:

I'm an avid collector of Final Fantasy games and merchandise so I'm definately getting it. I pre ordered the collectors edition for the PS3 and standard for Xbox 360. Even though I've read reviews saying the game is very linear and has no towns and bugger all NPCs I'm still going to buy it, play the crap out of it and if it sucks... complain to Square-Enix and tell them to sell the franchise to Mistwalker to save the franchise before even Herbert West(Re-Animator reference kiddies)can't even bring it back to life.

I didn't find the plot of 12 to be at all interesting. The opening cut scene drew me in, but after that it kind of fell on its face and was dragged along for the rest of the game. I enjoyed the gameplay much more than the plot.
I just pray that the characters will be better in 13 than in 10. Please, god, let them have depth! And be less annoying! And if the plot could make a little bit of sense, that would be nice, too.Bourne said:
