Here in Beijing they've been a lot more vigilant about it than in the US, which I suppose makes sense given East Asia's recent history with the flue and other assorted tasty contagions. The government is taking a lot of measures to make sure that it doesn't enter the country, and I guess it's working. Besides everyone on my plane being checked before we left, I've pretty much gotten used to random quick temperature checks wherever I go, be it the gym, campus, etc. In the US I think it's pretty exaggerated, but I really can't say much about Beijing and China, because the health standards in a lot of areas here aren't exactly as strict as in the West.
