Sonic 3. Not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination but it was the weakest of the original Sonic games ever so slightly.

Apart from that they're all fantastic. Also, who the hell's been voting for Zelda? I thought that the forum would be unanimous in loving Link to the past.

I wonder how many people that voted for Sonic 3 had never even played it, but rather assumed it was shit because theres 'Sonic' in the name

Anyways, my vote goes towards Half-Life 2, it was an okay game, but it's been years without updating the story when it's supposed to be episodic

Die.

Anywho, I'd say Sonic 3 purely because the Sonics were never *quite* as good as the Marios.
Yay i never found the appeal in Half-life it looked so boring, and uninspired.

I haven't played either Half-Life 2 or A Link to the Past...and thoroughly enjoyed FF7 and Sonic 3. I see no reason for Sonic to gain so much ire, save perhaps adding in another mutant mammal to the mix.

Super Mario 3, however, I have no love for. It was the same as the other games in essence, yet somehow felt like a departure from everything that I ever liked about Mario games. It got my vote.

Four person parties are for the people who keep dying on three person parties because there isnt enough people to swarm their enemy and kick his head in like a football hooligan... and yes I am calling anyone who like four person parties over three person parties cowards and you cant argue against it because thats the only logical reason you see the difference! Also, what did FF7 do to the series? Make it graphically better? Better and new stories rather than getting freakin' crystals? Having a logical reason why people can train past the physical limit of every other thing on the planet? Tying in real world issues into the plot of the game? Yes I see you point these are all... wait, these are brilliant things that made the game the best in the series that everybody thinks it is! Oh, and FF7 didnt make every male "emo". Look at the characters Cloud - never said anything, Barret - angry big headed jerk but still pretty cool, Red XIII - The intelectual, Cid - The crazy mechanic, Cait Sith - a stuffed toy and finally Vincent - Yeah, maybe he is kinda depressed but he was bloody tortured and tested on, made into a monster, saw the love of his life stolen from him, betrayed by her too and shot in the head and he still doesnt talk about it and "how he cuts himself and wants to die" so he isnt an emo!

POWER RANT!!!
Ouch man coward, strong words, ever try to get through the original games with 1 party member dead (dont say remakes, remakes lowered the difficulty, also dont say ff2 it was story based not challenge based) try killing chaos in ff1 without a fourth person, and besides, before the whole "EVERYONE CAN LEARN ANYTHING" you had to decide what classes were needed, and, well since ff7 the difficulty went down ff9 proves that, giving the extra party while keeping the difficulty to a low... tisk tisk major eff up, but the four person party was a necessity since not everyone could have a life2 materia on them, only the white mage could sure a paladin in a few select games could have life1 but that was no help later, besides the limit breaks mean a 3 person party isnt even needed i cloud solo'd ff7 and got through due to limit breaks being over powered try soloing ff6 with desperation attacks (not like 8, 8 could be exploited) but 6 you cannot constantly retry and low hp will have you killed, besides I'm not one to constantly hold down circle so it will always have attack command. And I assume most NA havnt played things before ff7 unless they were remakes (lowered difficulty I may add) so you dont know how hard the originals were, trust me saying i NEED 4 members is true but being a coward for it? heh funny, I will let you call me one after you beat the entire series (YES I HAVE NO LIFE I PLAYED EVERY FINAL FANTASY TITLE EVEN SPIN OFFS TO DATE) so yeah, 3 party members = people can learn way more than class excluded and monsters are lower difficulty + overpowered limit breaks = YOU ARE THE COWARD

great now im having a flame war.... kinda >.> either way, think before you defend ff7

I should note i have yet to have a single game over with a 3 person party, so tough luck on the whole "Four person parties are for the people who keep dying on three person parties because there isnt enough people to swarm their enemy and kick his head in like a football hooligan... and yes I am calling anyone who like four person parties over three person parties cowards and you cant argue against it because thats the only logical reason you see the difference!" thing, and FYI I love mages so I never mash attack command >.> BLUE MAGES FTW!

And you say the crystals, but that was not the theme for 2 and 6 and graphicaly better? at least with the sprites i knew what they looked like, at least they didnt have boxes sure the whole 3d WAS a step forward but it wasnt actualy a BREAKTHROUGH until ff8

And how is a Meteor sent by a momma's boy whos sad because he was made up from hundreds of monsters to destroy an UNNAMED planet that was dying anyway a real world issue? and before ff7 the main characters didnt have ridiculous weapons and you say train past the physical limit to save the planet (not quote on quote but close enough) I think a god (chaos) destroying all that is and shall be is reason enough, they all had reason enough (well not ff2 but in ff2 firionel never trained past human limits >.>)

for the record i dont think of anyone as emo I see cloud as a guy with MPS and a inferiority complex sephiroth and cloud are both compensating for something with the oversized swords, but I suppose only people who played ff from the begining and not from 7 would agree 4 person parties were better and ff7 isnt the marvel it was said to be sure its good but its no godlike game (like ff8 but i will leave that alone >.>)

I end with, thanks for reading my wall of text rant, have a nice day, and GO FF2!!!

Okay, lets address the main problem. I have played all of the Final Fantasy games (except before crisis and that one for the mobile phone) so that kinda removes the last paragraph and some other chunks where you were under the impression that I hadnt played them.

I never said they trained past human limits, some had to because they were just people like yuffie and Tifa and thats why their limits were related to what they could do Yuffie and her ninja crap and Tifa and just punching things. Everyone else was advanced. So it does make sense that they would be able to do the things that they do, and Clouds sword weilding skillz are from years of training after Zak died.
Also, you twisted my comment beyond recognition to make a point about the games before FF7. I never said they were training to save the planet. I said they had reasons that they were stronger than everyone else on the planet and those reasons were because they are advanced as I said before. So why are they stronger than everyone else on the planet... and a god?

Also I was refering to the massive corporation that is draining the earth of its resources at an insanely accelerated rate being the real world issue... and actually I have heard rumours of a super meteor and that would have been a real world issue when that meteor did hit earth (millions of years ago. :D).

And yeah, brilliant it wasnt the crystals in 2 and 6 your right but it was in the others between and that is too many times of using the same thing to drive the story.

And i will end with a compliment of FF2, I like it because it introduce Chocobos and Cid to the series.

Actually I am going to end on this instead, in FF7 you get Chaos on your squad so there is no need to fight him. Vincent for the win!

None of those games are really bad. Personal taste is all this is.
That's the point :) I'm tired of easy choice polls, this one needs thought.

I believe Half-Life 1 would have been a more solid option than the sequel.
You know, just to make the choice harder than it already is ;)
Honestly I don't think so. I mean I did research about all these games, and people who haven't played the first one, would even think of trying it. Half-life 2 has more appeal.

FF7, if only because the fanboys are creepy enough to write poetry about when Aeris
got owned like a ************ at the hands of an overly-effeminate villain. That was the only good part of the game.

This image makes me laugh because it makes fanboys cry.

Also, because it's the very definition of overrated.
This.

Not only is it a dull, repetitive and entirely non-fun game it has spawned an entire generation of wapanese freaks.

what the hell?
three of these games are the greatest games ever
Super Mario 3(for the super nintendo not the nes) is way better than the current one for the ds
zelda a link to the past is just pure awesome
FF7 is way awesome considering how kickass it was when it came out, it had a brilliant story good characters, the crappiest thing about it was what insued afterword
half Life 2 was a decent enough game if you cut out the driving parts

So I guess Sonic gets my spite
except that the sonic team raped him to infinity so no one gets my vote

Once again, the tough choice is the point of this poll. You should judge sonic by that game alone.

Well I dont want to make an enemy of you, and sorry for "misreading" but as for my assumption of you not playing the games its because most non japanese fans (like 80% or so) have never played anything before seven save for remakes, as for the god question, yeah thats ff1 for you, Chaos was a god of sorts, Vincent's Chaos for is not really the original Chaos... But I'm sure you knew that and you were just making a funny =P anyway, you said and yes the meteor thing is correct and there was going to be another that was gunna hit 2030 or so (i dont care about the detaisl it was near future thats all that matters) and it is now said to miss so scrap that but anyway, the crystals thing is called a recurrign theme, sorta like cid, chocobo's, moogles, ivalice corruption, its a story driver >.> anyway it was nes/snes era only a select few games had story so gotta at LEAST give em credit for it, and at the tiem ff7 was made the draining of resourses wasnt a huge issue (it became the hot topic in 21st century) and I was guna let it slide, but because Zack is in my top 10 ff chars (only passed by Squall, Firionel, and Locke, quistis almost passed him but when I heard the line "would you say I became a hero?" he knocked her out of his league) Cloud didnt harshly train like Zack did per say, (I'm aware you didnt compare his training to Zack) But he had mako/jenova cells in him from Hojo's whacky crazy fun experiments, so he could weild the sword with ease (thats why zack was having trouble I think he transfered the mako/jenova cells) But I'm just saying ff7 changed the series WAYYYYY too much, (though maybe it was 6 considering how many elements ff7 stole from ff6 >.>) but it wasnt very noticable untill ff7 stressed it too much >.>

I will end my newer rant with, a quote "I can only represent what i fight for with this" -holds up a rose-
