Yeah, that won't just attract like a million zombies who will skullfuck you when it runs out of gas and ammo, not at all.
as apposed to? Name one vehicle that wouldn't encounter that problem?
I already answered another guy who said this exact same thing.

My suggestion, while not flashy, is practical and makes sense:

A pedal bike would never run out of gas, never make any noise, never make a high profile target for violent looters, it would be able to swerve inbetween vehicles on clogged roads, and it would be the best vehicle for a (slow zombies) zombie apocalypse, not to mention, where the hell are you going to get a tank with flamethrowers any way?

We aren't talking about what kills the most zombies in the first ten minutes, we are talking what will allow you to continue breathing
You just can't carry much, you would be exhausted after a few days, sleep would be an issue and out of all the cars in the world you could steal you ignore them for a bike?

I would have to say an APC like a Bradley or a Stryker. After all it is armored, has the cargo capacity to live/store stuff/transport survivors as well as being able to crush anything that stands in my way....oh and it has some freaking awesome guns as well....

1.) What do you need to carry? There is a whole world out there to loot.
2.) I would only be exhausted if I had a specific faraway destination in mind, But for a "relatively safe loot point A to relatively safe loot point B" transportation, it'll do fine (You could do long distances too, it would take awhile, but car's make noise and need gas and can't get around obstacles as well)
3.) How many of those cars have BOTH gas AND keys in the ignition?

1)hand gun? Ammo? 'cos you never know were the next time you can it might be, maybe a bit of food just incase there is a long run of finding looted stores.

2)you would still be exhausted and have a sore butt. A car does make noise but your going about 10 times faster (if you want to keep to a speed limit in a chaotic world) that it doesn't matter how loud you are, till of course you want to get out but you could cruise for awhile, cars on tick over aren't that loud.

If theres a car theres going to be keys near by and it will never be that far from a petrol/diesel station to fill a jerry can.

Handgun isn't good for slow zombies, MAKES TOO MUCH NOISE, you should avoid them, and you would only get exhausted if you made a long distance trek, and yes it does matter how loud you are, because if one of those zombies walks in front of the car, you can't just plow through it, that would damage the car, if you make a lot of noise, 20 zombies might walk in front of the car, then you are fucked.

I can agree that a car would win in a rural area, but in the zombie apocalypse, I see myself in a small suburban town at LEAST.

Also, even if there's a gas station, that doesn't guarantee gas, what are you gonna do, walk up to a pump and ask it nicely? I don't think the gas stations would be working, they would be closed up, or out of gas, it IS the freaking zombie apocalypse after all.

Maybe the first gas station would have gas, but then 3 gas stations later (like, a month into the apocalypse), they would probably all be out, and I would like to survive over a month.

A Main Battle Tank, a modern one like a M1 or Challenger 2.

Big, sealed, has air filtration and nbc capability, built in water supply, built in toilets, well armed, distinctive/large enough to be spotted from the air, long range, capable of clearing road blocks, impossible for zombie to just open or smash holes in, can run over zombies with impunity and not worry about damage. Even if you were to run out of fuel you have a built in hi tech communications system with which to check for other signs of life. the only major problem is the driver is all alone by himself in the hull, which could get awfully lonely and uncomfortable, still better than getting zombie'd.

Altogether a thoroughly practical vehicle.

Handgun ... with a silencer, see what I did there. Hehehe.

If your only going a short distance wouldn't it be better to walk? It's even more quiet and easier to get round things.

It depends how fast your going, if your going 100mph then the car is screwed but at 20-30 it's still good, just superficial body/windscreen damage. If there is 20 zombies then try to miss as many as you can.

As I said get a talon riot vehicle, it's kind of designed to hit people. The power of google compels you.

There is ALOT of "gas" in "gas" stations though, so your bound to find some sooner or later, mad max did it! If not use strong alcohol. (I put it "gas" 'cos I am English and you don't get gas from them).

If you can't do any of those things then either find another car with "gas" in or find a bike, atleast you saved some energy over just getting a bike from the start.

You made some decent points, but where the hell are you going to get a Talon Riot Vehicle?

Define short range.

They'll do a few hundred kilometres, much further than a car will manage through a sea of walking corpses and abandoned vehicles...

A boat would be the best.

Reasons:

1) I have never heard of swimming zombies
2) Access to islands
3) Access to food and water(water, of course, depends on which water you are on and food is fish of course)
4) If you run out of fuel, no biggie you can just paddle.
5) Gives you a nice secure place to live with no threat of being attacked ever.
6) ???
7) Profit!

As for the other vehicles, while they may be able to get you farther faster for the most part, once you run out of fuel you are stuck where you began, or dead if it is a chopper and you run out mid-flight
Assuming zombies dont develop wings.

true but after the first tank is empty, you're fucked b/c it gets like 1/2 a mile to the gallon, and good luck finding 500 gallons of fuel in an apolcalypse scenario

also...miles...280 MILES
