Poll: Whats your fav Race in WH:40K

Imperial, be it Guard or Marines, Their over zealous fanatical doctrine makes em bigger b#@$%& then anyone else, i don't see many other races killing their front line troops or wipeing out a planet just because they had a change of heart. They are just cold hearted killers and they are sposed to be the good guys!

Wow! The even distribution of votes says great things for the creators of the Warhammer 40K universe. To make all those races appeal to people nearly equally is a very impressive achievement.

I'm a sucker for mechs, long-range rifles, plucky underdogs and "the greater good", so the Tau are my favourite, but there's a lot to be said for the Imperial Guard.

How is your opinion is right? you didn't even say anything bad about DoW just that it sucks. and I didn't go psyco, I just said don't post such asshole answers. And I do think, many of us like DoW because its FUN game to play. If you don't like it, then don't play it, easy as that. No one wrong, If you hate it then ok w/e. But don't come here and try to start trouble when I ask no one to start trouble.

Ive gotta say with regards to the start of the argument having played the two, don't get me wrong the board game is a nice hobby, and the pc game is cheaper and possibly better value for the people who just wanna play. But both are as big geeks as each other, i fail to see though why thats gotta be a bad thing? Although on principle having a opinion dont make it the right opinion... cept for you!

I play a mix of Imperial guard and Witch hunters, but i'll have to go with the IG as my faves, cause theyre so awesome XD

Tau come a close second. (i just love infantry XD)

Daemons of Chaos. They're so awesome, they can kick ass in TWO UNIVERSES.

Space Marines in second, if only because I like to see the look on people's faces when my Terminators mow down all their infantry in two turns.

Throwing in my coins with the 'Guard. Because 18th century warfare has told us that massive blocs of infantry trained in Drill and pissed off by their 'betters' (Cavalry in RL, Adeptus Astartes in WH40K) work DAMN WELL.

Plus they have the greatest tanks to grace the earth. Latest I hear, you can get Basilisk Batteries for the new Apocalypse ruleset. Four Basilisks and a Chimera (why... why a Chimera...?). Now that is some firepower across the map.

The Orks are hilarious, and as far as personality goes they are a close second, but hands down, for units, tactics, and personality it would have to be the forces of chaos. There really is nothing like selecting a location for an attack move and have the marine squad tell you that they "heard you the first time" ... I Love the insane.

Space Marines are iconic but the Chaos are a bit more epic I think. They have DEMONs for Christs sake!!! Oh yeah one more thing... BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!!

Tyranids, probably. The fact that they have no need for machines is just awesome. Then Orks. There's something endearing about their scrapyard mentality.
Space Marines are fascists, ditto Imperial Guard, Eldar are the mandatory elven race and Chaos is..Chaos is the embodiment of every Slayer fan in existence. And that's a bad thing.
Necron seem all right, if uninspired. I like the Tau, as they seem to have manners.

Having said all this, I've never played the tabletop game, only bits of the DoW series. Pretty much ill-informed opinions. So I'm not trying to piss off any fans.

I'm caught between The Eldar and the Space Marines namely the Space Wolves.

Eldar: I absolutely LOVE using light cavalry-esque hit and run tactics to tear up more heavily armed and armoured foes and laughing in their faces afterwards. The magi- I mean psionics helps out as well .

Space Wolves: Werewolf Vikings with power armour in space. And they can use the Leman Russ tank.

Don't get me? Read Eisenhorn or Ravenor.

Imperial Guard rock too. You gotta give it to them, facing the monstrosities of the Tyranids and still prevailing. Kudos.

The only fan you would probably piss off is that stupid guy who try to say the PC game is shit and who plays are morons who can't think. So I don't see anyone else having a problem with you not playing the TT. Plus I like people who state their opinion maturely.

tyranids are AWESOME (tabletop wise as I haven't played DOW2 yet) they just kick ass espiacially as you just pile all your best stuff on a carnifex/hive tyrant and your near unstoppable
