If you enjoy killing people in a video game/enjoy watching a violent gory movie there is something wrong with you. End of story.Frequen-Z said:It's fucking disgusting, and fucking wrong. If you beat it to hand drawn pedophilia, there is something wrong with you. End of story.
Comparing war to child abuse? Not the wisest thing ever done.Rabarberskurk said:If you enjoy killing people in a video game/enjoy watching a violent gory movie there is something wrong with you. See what I did there?
I wouldnt declare him evil, but if his thoughts and actions contradict your own you cant think different then "what a creep". When i recall it right he had a disgust for how the youth are acting and behaving, though he feels attracted to one of them. Typical hypocritical dirty old man.Not evil, but i wouldnt take him as a babysitterFensfield said:Right, except Lolita wasn't about 'exposing how much of a f****** creep Humbert Humber was'; the book took a startlingly even-handed view of the man as a character and didn't actively portray him as evil. The book was about the fact that the male character's sexual involvement with a twelve year-old obliterated both their lives. It wasn't an avilicious 'This is a bad man and you should hate him', it was 'What these two people did was inherently damaging and had tragic results, take from that what you will'.Fetzenfisch said:/signRAKtheUndead said:Did anyone who came up with the terminology "lolicon" actually read Lolita? Wasn't the whole point of that book exposing how much of a fucking creep Humbert Humbert was? As much as I'd like to dig up Nabokov and shit in his grave for giving us the name from where the terminology is derived, somehow I think the Japanese misinterpreted everything.
Anyway, it's paedophilia. Straight-out paedophilia.
Oh how surprised i was to find that no-one responded to this
you can't really put "read" a "book" and then something "older than 2006" in one post and expect that actually more than 2 people on here know it ( and the one of those are you).
'Fact that your assigning such a blunt message to the work (not so much the second quoted poster, just included them for the sake of it) makes me wonder if you've read the book and all.
Still, I do see what you're trying to get at, at least; I've always found the irony in the term lolicon interesting.
Perhaps, but I don't think that belittles my argument much.snowplow said:Some of them are pretty well drawn I'd say. All there is to loli is a badly drawn child being knobbed by another badly drawn human.
If I'm laughing, it's only because hearing about the evils of lolicon from someone with a Kurenai avatar is pretty damn funny. Maybe the anime is milder about it, but the manga can be somewhat borderline, at times, when it comes to how Shinkurou and Murasaki's relationship is portrayed. Just a bit of an amusing juxtaposition, you understand, I'm not trying to imply anything.JoJoDeathunter said:While not as bad as the real thing, I would still say that lolicon is wrong and anyone who feels those urges should try to avoid it as much as possible... while I understand that no-one is being hurt by animated images, I happen like a lot of people to be very fond of children and so the idea of lolicon just seems sickening to me.
