The disgust isn't unreasonable either, (I know you never said it was, but nevertheless) a sexual attraction to kids, in this day and age, is a mental illness. Maybe the ancient greeks fucked boys or whatever, but that was then. Kids are not to be sexualised now, doing it in drawing doesn't justify the fact that essentially, dudes just beating himself to a child being raped/molested/whatever.

Whether it's disgusting or not - which I for one think it is - does not equate whether it's unethical or not, or whether it's so unethical that it should be criminalized as illegal. I subjectively find the taste of cheese disgusting, but that has absolutely no relation to the ethical implications of that act, or even just how I view them.

Most of us will subjectively find this stuff unpleasant and repulsive, but to condemn it, and certainly to criminalize it, objective arguments are needed.

As no one is getting hurt during production, as it's currently unclear whether and if so to what degree it is motivator for actual criminal behaviour or perhaps a deterrent for it as a harmless outlet, and as I'm loathe to condemn for thoughts alone, I for one can find no reasons to even call it unethical, despite agreeing that holding it to be disgusting and repulsive is the perfectly natural and healthy reaction to stuff like that.

While not as bad as the real thing, I would still say that lolicon is wrong and anyone who feels those urges should try to avoid it as much as possible... while I understand that no-one is being hurt by animated images, I happen like a lot of people to be very fond of children and so the idea of lolicon just seems sickening to me.

If I'm laughing, it's only because hearing about the evils of lolicon from someone with a Kurenai avatar is pretty damn funny. Maybe the anime is milder about it, but the manga can be somewhat borderline, at times, when it comes to how Shinkurou and Murasaki's relationship is portrayed. Just a bit of an amusing juxtaposition, you understand, I'm not trying to imply anything.

I can't speak for the manga as I don't read manga, but in the anime to me atleast the relationship seemed more like brother and sister than anything else. That might be from my point of view though, as I'm a sucker for the "big brother instinct".

Everyone has their own different tastes and fantasies which is perfectly acceptable. Having said that, at the end of the day there are still people who get off to this stuff even though there are some people who just enjoy the art style.
