Just choose a console you feel like buyng. And if you want Monster Hunter make sure it's available on that console.

I do like the 360 don't get me wrong, but theres so many extras you have to buy for it and it's just not a good experience. The only thing i like is more people are on Live compared to PSN
I don't get what people mean when they say this, what accessories do you need to buy?
Live : You have to pay to go online

Wi-Fi : You have to pay £59.99 / approx $100

Play and Charge : You have to pay for the same ability to charge the controllers I think

Bluetooth : I beleive you have to pay extra for bluetooth but i could be wrong

Controller : You have to pay additional money for a wireless controller i think

HD-DVD : Blu-ray is standard on the PS3, you have to pay extra for HD-DVD on 360 which is out of date technology now anyways, well, not out of date but has been supersceeded.

The xbox 360 is good if you are looking for a good multi player system. More specificly the Xbox 360 Elite, because the Arcade is shit and they stopped releasing the pro. If you want more single player based I would recomend the PS3 cause the PSN is free and not always garunteed to work all the time.

Tell us a little more about what games you like. It's really the first thing you have to look at if you want to pick a console, the games library. Check reviews, video's, anything. If you can try out all consoles to find out what controls you like the best.

After that take a little look at each console special qualities: internet service, HD content, noice and heat levels, things like that.

If you gathered all that information, you know enough to make a well-balanced decision between all consoles.

I voted for None but if you have to have one I'd say the 360, it'll die at some point but atleast developers want to make games for it.

Upgrading your computer would be for the best quality, pricey though.
i use laptop... my computer is fully upgraded..
A gaming laptop? Meh, I don't know much about laptops because I really hate those touchpads and I can never find a flat surface for a mouse, and using it at home would be stupid because laptops are made for travel. A full-blown gaming CPU would give you a wide variety of games as well as good internet gaming, it would just cost the most out of all the other choices.

PS3, no 12 year old boys with headsets, no fratboys and a free online service that pays of more than xbox 360's.
Yeah... and generally better exclusives and are not sold out franchises.
Uncharted, Resistance, Killzone, Motorstorm, Mag, FF 13 vs etc. etc.

I'm surprised this powder keg hasn't exploded yet.

Anyway, I think stories like this make me want to keep my PC upgraded.

I do however own a PS3, but only really as a way to play Little Big planet :D

I prefer the 360 the gold may cost extra but it is a stronger network than PSN also the 360 has way more exclusive and actually good games and is better for getting friends together to play something, the biggest problem is the 16% death rate that it faces you have a 1 in 7 chance of getting one that will die in a year or less. Halo, Gears, Mass Effect, Bioshock. Also it is much easier to manage the options on this one, the PS3 has way too many settings.

Wii is fun but no online elements at all, and is a non-stop waggle fest a few worthwhile games Zelda, Metroid, and so on in that order until you get to Excite Truck.

PS3 great system but sony needs to step up with game quality really only about ten really worthwhile games on this one. Ratchet & Clank, Resistance, Motorstorm, Killzone, inFAMOUS, Uncharted, Little Big Planet, and that is about it. Plus massive delays on fallout 3 DLC, may happen in the future for other games, well have to wait and see.

PSP sucks completely just graphics to go really. nothing to mention good game wise here move on.

DS general awesome but nobody will take you seriously unless they know what they are talking about which they probably don't. SCRIBBLENAUTS!

PC meh not really good for games too buggy most of the time and you have to wait for patches to fix the problems that are not on the console versions also it feels like you have this vast hole where your money used to be if you go with this one mostly because you will. Best for MMOs but those too are wallet vampires.

i have all six so I know from much exp points.

Xbox 360 is the way to go this generation.

Xbox was the way to go the previous generation as well but I guess it was just too awesome for the general population to take in at once (seriously, compare Xbox and Playstation 2 online support).
Yeah, and then compare the game libraries. I think your fanboy denial is showing, because while PS3 vs 360 is still relatively debatable, PS2 vs Xbox is a hands down PS2 win in about 1900 ways, and no that is not debatable. I mean seriously "too awesome for the general population to take in at once?" Yeah, because obviously only a select few Xbox fanboys fans were able to see it right? Not the conceded masses making up the 150 million customers of PS2s, right?

Obviously, my opinion is going to be biassed, but I have to go with the PS3. I bought mine last year, and it has made me a very happy person. It's very reliable (I haven't had a single problem with mine), it has a great game library (including some pretty awesome exclusives, such as MGS4, LittleBigPlanet, Infamous, and very soon Uncharted 2, which has apparently been sent by God if the critics are to be believed), it doubles as a Blu-Ray player (I didn't have one before, and I don't use blu-ray anyway, but i still have the option!), and I prefer PS3's interface to the 360s. And, finally, the nerdiest and most insignificant reason of all is that PS3 has trophies, and trophies are fucking awesome.

PC is my console.

But I'm thinking of getting an X-box just to play really old-school games.

Out of curiosity... Why? What Xbox games aren't already on the PC (and mouse + keyboard > controller)? Plus they're not that old...

Cuz I can't find the original Zelda, the first 6 Final Fantasy games, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Phantasy Star 3 & 4, Warcraft 1 & 2, Ultima 7-9, Elder Scrolls Daggerfall/Battlespire/Redguard, & Goldeneye. If I can, they're on virus-laiden sites or are a menacing b**ch to try to get to run. :(
