Well, I'm crazy about Space Marines, but I've also more than once entertained the thought of replacing part of my weak flesh with augmetics, so I guess it's a tie between Astartes and Mechanicus.

... and then I remembered: In this case, I don't have to choose, I can have the best of both worlds!

I'll be a techmarine of the Iron Hands chapter.

Eh, I'd probably end up as just another Sororitas. Sure, I like the Mechanicus, but for my zealous qualities (which I rarely show), I'd probably be snapped up by the sisters of battle.
And as far as I can tell, Adepta only applies to the females, like the Sororitas, not the Astartes.
Edit: Although, if there were a way, I'd love to be an Adepta Sororitas fighting alongside the loyalists on Isstvan III. Sure, back then it was the Sisters of Silence, but who gives a damn. Isstvan III was the turning point. Where heroes rose and fell before any others. Before the battle of Terra, there was Isstvan III. The start of it all.

I would prefer to be a part of the adeptus arbites as they have a higher survial rate on planets in the centre of imperial turf. They have it real easy on planets such as Terra. But on fringe planets they tend to die alot.

If you don't know adeptus arbites are like the police; but as in Judge Dread style law enforcement.

*edit* Also I rather not join the Adeptus Astartes as I don't want to become a genderless seething mass of muscle and machine.

Why no Rouge Traders on the list as well as Adeptus Arbites?

Despite Rouge Traders not being offcialy part of Imperail Forces, they did commission the first of them.

Furhter interlude for those not knowing who Rouge Trader are: Rogue Traders are people who have rare ancient star maps that allow them to travel the far reaches of space. Due to this many of them posses Dark Age tech or even more advance stuff due to meeting/dicovering ancient races/homes of said races. Despite msot Rogue Trader being pro imperial they often get chased by Inquisitors calling them tainted by the warp and by their contact with xenos.

Because Rogue traders are dirty bastards that deserve to be shot and hung on site for mingling with dirty xenos and heretics!

The Imperial Guard of course. Power armour may save your life but everyone knows that a guardsmen gets all the ladies. That and they have balls of steel. Speaking of which I'll just hand mine in and become a Basilisk gunner. Nothing says manly like pounding your enemy with your massive gun... wait, that sounded wrong.

Astartes. I love the driven, almost single-mindedness of the Space Marines. So many points in life could have been so much simpler with a blast of "BURN HERETIC!". Plus I would be the embodiment of genetic human perfection, which would be great for my self-esteem issues

Chapter would be Crimson Fists. Hell yeah.

Be honest everyone want's to be Jurgen!
Not if ya dig hygene, although who wouldn't mind serving underneath him in his 597th. You could sleep around all you want and he wouldn't execute you cause he's such a nice guy.

Well if the big E doesn't hear you maybe you can make him smell you.I like to think that is the reason behind jurgens hygiene made things a bit more funny.

It's an extremely good book as well as the Gaunt's Ghost novels.

I would choose the Adeptus Mechanicus
BUT I'm a girl, I would guess that would mean Adeptus Sororitas for me
anyway there both pretty intresting.
(are there tech-priestesses)
I thought Tech-Priests were so modified that gender barely mattered. I mean, if you look like this:

Who knows what your gender is? Who cares?

It's funny by the way that, the more I read about the Imperium's history, the more apparant it becomes that they got a lot of inspiration from the Dune universe. Not that that's a bad thing.
