I think that not only am I getting it on release, im pre-ordering it, collectors edition. I started my TES career with Oblivion and even then I didn't have the funds to proprioter a limited edition, I am going to rectify that mistake I made.

What the fuck? How can you say you don't like a game, when all you'vee seen of it is a teaser that showed none of the game whatsoever
Ummm.yeah, using the same logic why would you like a game when you've etc, etc. It goes both ways and neither are right.

In fact, you can't even really trust game play videos if your worried about bugs. Do you honestly think that they would keep the part where logic gives up and someones arm stretches half a mile in favor "fight against giant enemy", "strolling through scenic country side", or "front view of a character wearing the best armor?" Personal experience is the only way to see if you like a game. Do stores still have those demos you can play while simultaneously ruining your neck? Not that that matters much, I doubt they would but a game like Oblivion on one of those discs.

I agree with the op for the most part about games and buggyness. If a studio doesn't take the time to work out game breaking or otherwise very common/obvious bugs why should I take the time to spend my hard earned money and play it? And if it takes so long for them to patch the major bugs out that they no longer really get any profit from it anymore their loss, maybe they will learn.

I know of it and I'm looking forward to it. I got hooked...brutally, unforgivably hooked, like a particularly lazy and stupid fish...by Morrowind (I bought the original AND the GOTY editions for the Xbox), played Oblivion to death on the PC (and played around with about 50 different mods just so I could play it more), but by the same token I've had enough experience to know that the games are buggy as hell on launch and so getting it right out of the gate is a pretty silly thing to do.
I'll wait a few months, get it on PC, get the half dozen or so patches and bugfixes, find the user-created mods that fix some of the others, then play the hell out of it.

Edit: Added the final "it".

Absopositivefuckinglutely.

I don't care if it has a few bugs. I have been waiting far too long for the next installment to my favorite wRPG franchise.

There are, however, a few things that I really hope they don't screw up.

First of all, Oblivion was way to shallow of a game in terms of quests. They need do go back to the Morrowind style of rival factions and skill based faction ranking (in other words you actually have to be a mage to be in the fucking Mages Guild).

I would also like to see a more interesting combat system. The combat in Oblivion and Morrowind got boring fast. Oblivion doubly so because there was so little enemy variety.

As long as they fix these problems, I wont mind a few bugs. Even if they don't and it's just more of the same it will still be an excellent game.

I'm getting it for sure. But why is it that this thread has over 100 people that love the hell out of it, yet the other thread was full of people who hate it?

I squealed last night unintentionally when I learned that there was going to be a new Elder Scrolls game. If I didn't buy it, it'd be because I was completely unable to leave the house or order online.

Just something to remember, those of you who bash Bethesda for New Vegas. F:NV was made by OBSIDIAN, using Bethesda's engine. Obsidian has a terrible reputation for releasing buggy, and borderline unplayable games. If it's Bethesda working on it, I'm going to buy that shit with a song in my heart. If Obsidian worked on it, I'll do what I did for F:NV; I'll wait for the "comprehensive patch".

Comes out November 11, 2011, right? If so, then I won't be getting it on launch. In my family, it is against the rules to buy something "giftable" in the period before Christmas. It will, however, go on my wishlist for the year.

[HEADING=1]The following is 100% true![/HEADING]

I'll preorder it for PC, 360, and PS3. I'm going to get 3 copies, you hear me!

My PC won't run the damn thing, but I don't fucking care!

I'm probably get one of them as collector's edition.
I'm preordering two copies, a regular one for my PC, and the Collector's Edition for my XBOX 360.

While on the subject, I'll preorder the Collector's Edition Strategy Guide as well.

(All this said, I'm a tad disappointed that Argonia wasn't the location for the main game. Hopefully, Bethesda will make it a part of a Skyrim expansion pack/DLC.)
Black Marsh would be horrid, from a gameplay standpoint, at least. You'd be getting poisoned, diseased, and stuff all the freaking time.

after the whole F:NV Fiasco, i find myself compelled to think i will not buy this game
Blame obsidian for the bugginess of FO:NV. Not the same people who made elderscrolls or fallout 3.
YOU try working with Bethesda's buggy engine, and see how it turns out. While Obisidian aren't entirely blameless, most of those bugs were inherited, so to speak. If nothing else, though, at least Obisidian has bothered to fix a lot of the bugs.

Anyway, back on topic, I'll think about it. I'm playing through Oblivion again at the moment, and having a fairly good time, so I'll definitely look into picking up Skyrim. It really depends on how they set it all up though. I want a decent main quest that isn't completely outdone by sidequests, a leveling system that isn't garbage (unmodded, Oblivion made it really easy to get terrible quest rewards), and less of the whole fetch-quest thing (for example, compare the Dark Brotherhood missions to the main storyline. Now which was more interesting?). If they can pull at least those three things off, I'll most likely get it on or around launch, probably a bit later to allow for patches and discounts.

I can live with bugs in game, as long as they aren't too bad. Take for instance F:NV, I got that on launch day and it had no bugs except the one where the radscorpion gets stuck in the ground, and a weird gun glitch.

So yeah, I will most likely be getting it on launch day, because in all honesty, Bethesda are my favourite company :D

EDIT: Also, guys, I ask you to remember the news story which says that Bethesda will be using a completely different game engine for Skyrim. Who knows, maybe it won't be too bad!
