ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDIN'? YES I WOULD! Their gear and uniforms are way past superior to anything else during WW2. If I had an SS uniform I'd wear it to the mother fucking Nobel Price ceremonies.

I think a complete reversal of most World War 2 FPS's would be a great idea for a game. While you could play a German assault on, say, Stalingrad, you could also have some spectacular last stand setpieces with your guy on the defensive, having to hold off waves of British, Canadian and Russian soldiers while you wait for reinforcements, or tracking down French Resistance spies and saboteurs before they destroy your supply lines and communications equipment.

OOH! What about an RPG where you play as a German officer on trial, having survived World War 2? The whole game could consist of flashbacks to different situations, from taking prisoners to the fall of Berlin, where you are given different orders, and you then have to choose how to carry them out - depending on how you do it, you could either be shown as unrepentantly evil or a man who was just trying to stay alive between the Allied army and the Nazi high command. There could even be a whole metagame where you try to fake evidence that could exonerate yourself at a later date.

Actually, that'd be awesome. I've gotta becme a designer faster...

I did, look up 'I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream'. One of the main characters is a Nazi scientist. An actual Nazi, as well. I recall him refusing to even refer to to some of his 'patients' as people, at the beginning. I think he was supposed to be based on Josef Mengele, as well.

In all seriousness, I'm not the greatest WW2 far, so I probably wouldn't play it anyway. However, if it was done accurately, to show the evil of the NAZI party, then probably yes. It's just a game...

If any male on this forum was born in Germany (the wrong place)and happened to be of a certain age (the wrong time), then they'd probably be in the Wermacht. There were no conscientious objectors and these soldiers were not Nazi's and the majority of them didn't even support the Nazi's.

This, exactly this. If the game was solid and the story was solid, sure, I'd play it. The point of video games is that it's not real and if I were to play as a

badge wearing, Third-Reich supporting racist fuck who completely agrees with the ideals of the party and supports the Fuhrer

it wouldn't make me any more racist than I am now, which is to say not really at all, aside from the occasional racist joke.

Also, Not all Nazis were racist and stuff. Some, perhaps many, but not all. Read up on your history, AlmostGold.

I would play as a German, I've played as Russians in WWII and they were worse than the Germans. Additionaly not all Germans belived in the Nazi party or what it wanted, so it would be possible to play as a German without being evil, in fact it would be rather easy and if you wished to tell a historical story, make the game equivalent of a documentary, then it would be intresting.

But I would never play as a Nazi, I don't even like playing as the bad guy in RPG's not chance in hell I would play as a bad guy from real life. So again, no.

Not all nazis were evil not having blond hair killing bastards. Alot of them were coscripts who felt there nation and people had been unjustly treated at the end of world war 1. But if any developer made a game that sympathizes with the nazis in any way the controversay would be more than a little significant. But i would like to see a game were you are a Nazi scared shitless in the ruins of moscow and given the statistics of that battle it would actually make sense that one lone nazi is gunning down hundreds of russian soldiers. You could also have a S.S. commanding officer to add a not so nazi loving tone to the game. yeah i would quite like to play that game

Absoloutely. It would provide an entirely new perspective rarely seen in games, but then again the game would probably have to be set in either an a)alternate reality where the Germans won, or b)The game would end around 1943. I just don't think people would enjoy playing a game that they're ultimately going to lose.
