I'm a rather moderate conservative. I try to be open-minded, but I tend to stick to my beliefs and ideals as well.

I'm a progressive who recently experienced a sudden and unexpected shift towards fiscal conservatism.

Suppose left swinging Anarchist, or at least very liberal if we must have parties. Australias current two party system of "do shit to make yourself look good short term and win votes" is a long way from ideal. I suppose I could be happy with less extreme social structures, but I'm yet to see anyone putting what I'd support into a well written out theory (much less ever been practised).

I hate both major parties equally, I especially hate 'family first' our "super" conservative minority party who's politicial ideoglogy seems to be "let's ban everything new to protect the children". A part of me dies everytime they get votes.

Communism (in theory) is a good system. Unfortunately nobody ever has or ever will do it right. Its a damn shame but unless we find some human being who isn't even remotely corrupt when given power, then I suppose a democracy would work out just fine.
Republic, too, in theory seems to be a good system but it has been stabbed and raped so many times by these conservatives that it is a shadow of its former self. Now it is beginning to resemble one of those old-timey governments where people didn't understand the concept of separation of church and state. But luckily we pulled out in time.

Men are still men. The despot's wickedness
Comes of ill teaching, and of power's excess,--
Comes of the purple he from childhood wears,
Slaves would be tyrants if the chance were theirs.

-Victor Hugo

Mixed... I would say Libertarian mostly, but i am not happy with either faction at the moment. The election will be soon here... and i think i will vote for some underdog small party (The Pirate Party, which is pretty much only advocating "Your thoughts are free")

They have no chance of winning, and only maybe tinytiny chance to even send members into the Bundestag... But voting for them maybe shows that i am not willing to waste my vote on the crappy big parties out there.

I am at the moment a bit unsatisfied with the whole system and think we should change it for a while, before returning to a direct democracy in the future (after we fixed the people)

In practice I'd say I'm a centrist leaning to the left. Ideally, I'd love to have complete decentralization of all governments, but we all know that anarchy doesn't usually work...

wow. by the time i write this the poll says socialist/communist on top. i wouldn´t have thought that. and i´m last with non leftist/other anarchist, even behind fascist! i took it because deep in my heart, i am an anarchist because i hate authorities with a passion. that doesn´t mean i commit crimes to piss cops off. i just give a fuck about laws i think are stupid. but i also don´t like ideologies. to me, anarchism is more a concept for my personal lifestyle. if i am political in a way, then it is through simply doing what i want as long as i don´t get the feeling i may hurt someone with my actions.

DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT want this to become a flame war or a my-position-is-better-than-yours debate. Let's be mature about this for once. If I see a flame war, I will ask the mods to close this thread.

Tell us a little bit about your political position from your point of view, as long as you're not bashing others and are respectful. I think it would also be good to ask each other questions about the presented political positions, again, in a respectful and non-inflammatory manner. We're all friends here, right?

Let me start off. As those of you who know a bit about Japan might point out (see avatar), I'm a communist. Communism is a left anarchist political ideology based on the establishment of an egalitarian, oppression-free, classless and stateless society without the need of currency. Laws, etc. are all decided upon via direct democracy (communism is the purest form of democracy. Everyone contributes to society in some way, shape or form and is in turn supplied with their needs of living. The ideology was first thoroughly described by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels in The Manifesto of the Communist Party. Anyway, that's my (very) brief definition of communism. What about you guys?
I've got a couple questions for you. First off, what would your avatar be from? It's puzzled me a bit. Secondly, is there any particular branch of Communism you go from? I'm a bit of a Trotskyist myself.

Well, I guess that would answer the question, I'm a full fledged Communist.
Yay, communism for the win! Though given the choice of communist philosophies, it's Stalinism all the way.

When it comes to non-democratic/republican governments, fascism and communism are two systems I find very intriguing that have their own individual strengths. Honestly, I think they can live together like any other two nations would, it's just they didn't when Nazi ideology got mixed into it, remember folks, fascism is not all nazism, I do not support the monster that was the Nazi regime, I find the governmental style of fascism interesting and believe that it can be done well.

I'm pretty neutral about the governments I like, I love republics, but they have their weaknesses, everything does, everything has pros and cons, nothing is inherently bad or good with governments.

Social democrat. I guess "democrat" in the poll is closest.
I'm definitely not a communist.
I believe in capitalism but think that the "free market" needs strong regulation to avoid circumstances reminiscent of the industrialization.
