'Popular' Games that you hate

Sometimes I feel like people who hate popular games are just doing so because they see it as the alternative to being part of the larger mass, for instance Halo 3, wasn't a horrible game (granted it wasn't amazing either) but yet people flame it for being a terrible game. The way I see it is if you have to "nitpick" to give yourself justification that a game is bad i.e "I hate Halo 3 because it's not as good as Halo 2!" then just stop trying to hate a game.

I think it has more to do with the fact that people manifest their hatred for the popularity of the game by hating the game itself. Like my example, I did not enjoy Dead Space. I didn't find anything interesting about. So of course I get a little ticked off when people insult my taste in games because OMG YOU DINDT LIEK DEAD SPACE?!

Just my theory on where all the pop game hate comes from.

I see where you're coming from, but I'm talking about the type of people who seem to just hate games, because "All the cool kids are doing it!" that sort of thing, I can't stand when somebody hates a game based on the majoritie's opinions.

Prototype is also very overrated, I liked it at first but the missions repeat themself and the combat gets dull

Its an RPG. it is like a requirement to have that much text in it.

I really don't hate games, the fanbase? fuck yes. but I don't hate a game. I dislike games, but not hate. for me it would be the turn based RPGs that are going around. I just can't get into them like I can with something where they actually move without going through six menus.

OT: I hate Gears of War, Halo, and FIFA.

But they are linear sequels. I refer to every game in a series that has the same template numerically, so even though it goes Overlord, Overlord 2, Dark Legend, and Minions, I say Overlord 1, 2, 3, and Minions because Minions is unique from the template.

It's the same reason I have a label maker so I can change "Rambo 3" and "Rambo" into First Blood parts 3 & 4.

I know why we've stopped putting numbers on the end of our titles: we are ashamed we've made so many Goddamn sequels.

Bioshock, the combat was repetitive and ammo was just too scarce. I also hated how you were supposed to switch ammo types for different enemies. That was just annoying, not fun.

Cant really say i hate any game. But i disliked GTA4 because it got so tedious. It was fun for a while what with the high speed escapes and killing of innocent pedestrians. Unfortunately after about 3 hours i got annoyed and stopped playing. Because for like 2 hours of the time Whatshisface cousin kept calling me asking to go bowling. Or that girl would ask me to go bowling. Or that jamaican guy would ask me to go bowling.

What the hell is it with everyone wanting to go bowling every damn minute?
