I think I would do well in a fight, though I have never been in one. After doing some wrestling and studying MMA (not from any school, just watching UFC and learning from it), I think I could take out most random street thugs (if I didn't go nutty like they probably would and just windmill punch).
I would use my wrestling to bring them to the ground, then get into a good position and pepper them with elbows and try to catch them in a submission. Sure a submission won't lead to a ref comign in and breaking it up, but it would still hurt like hell.

Okay, that I understand, but the part I don't get is why you pointed it at your face.

It's just a little silly.
I realise that now.
And I'm not too sure, I was just messing around with it, next thing I know there's a staple flying past my face.
It was a traumatic experience.

Well.
I guess that's not so bad.

Better than intentionally trying to give yourself a facial piercing.
I can see you now: Twenty years from now, on a therapist's couch, all "And then it just FLEW at me and I didn't know what to do, man...And I guess that's where my obsession with stuffing therapists into my fridge began."
Your therapist is naturally shaken.
Facial piercings only work on the right people, I'm going to stick with just my ears.

I'm just glad it didn't hit me, I've stapled my hand before and it hurt. A lot.

I've been doing shotokan karate for about a year (7th kyu)
I teach it part time ^_^

Whens your next grading?
Autumn, I think. Just tested for orange in May. Gotta find out what's on the next test (besides Heian Sandan, which I think I'll do all right).
Depending ont he centre thats teaching you, it's a different order, but most likely Heian Godan. Good luck with that ^^

I can hold my own, But I'd rather not fight (no matter how cliche/gay/stupid that sounds, but that's how I am.)

but to be honest, I've rarely have found myself in a situation where I needed to fight. But I usually win the situations i do have to fight.

I took a Taekwondo class in college but never went any further with it.I gig manage to get my yellow belt though.

It really doesn't matter though, if you can't punch or kick bullets to deflect them or bounce bullets off your chest, don't stick around if someone pulls a gun. Run like hell and hope they have bad aim.

Agreed.

I have never stapled myself, but I've been stabbed by various objects, some metal, some not, and I don't imagine being stapled is any more fun.
Being stabbed is never fun.
I'm just thinking back and I've realised I've been stabbed quite a few times, non of them fond memories.
Staples, wooden stakes, knives, metal poles, metal shards, pens, pencils.

Your avatar changed again.

I used to do karate but that was years ago. Nowadays I have no idea how to fight well, thus I'm a pacifist.

Not actually for that reason but still...

Yeah, I've done a few martial arts, such as Karate, Judo, Taekwondo, Chinese Kick Boxing and regular Boxing, and I can brawl as well, although I never considered fighting fair when I get into self defence, since I'm not a 6' 250lb person, I'm a 5'8", slight kind of guy, so I realised early on that a swift knee to the nadgers was usually enough before I could make my escape.

(we are buddies a lot apparently?)
Acutally, I've never really minded it.

I class pain in two ways: External and internal.
External is being hit, stabbed, breaking a bone, etc.
The initial pain.
That never really hurts me.

Internal is waiting for the bone to heal, stomachaches, headaches, bruises, etc.
Those always suck.
Yeah, and hang out in A&E.

I don't mind short, stabbing pains, they're over and done with really quickly, it's the pains that last, headaches, healing wounds and such, that bug me.

The TV network?

Yeah, exactly! As long as the pain is short-lived, I don't care how bad it is, because it doesn't really hurt.
But if it lingers, it hurts.
No, the emergency room, I don't know why I called it that.

I'm 16 and have 10 years of Wado Ryu Karate Do under my belt.

That belt also happens to be black ; )
