In what is listed:
The Sistine Chapel. It's a big peice of art, but worth it, guys.

My Choice for other medias:
Games: Between Okami and Shadow of the Colossus.... crap... can't choose.
Music: Mozart or The Beatles. Not my personal faves on either counts, but I can't deny their impact.
Comics: ...shit. Either Watchmen or a TPB of Batman: Hush.
Movies: Citizen Kane or Inception

I was going to save the Sistine Chapel, but then I remembered Man. I would gleefully torch every current work of art to truly save one life (even more so for the whole race). Man can always make more art, but art cannot make man and requires him to have value.

I chose Starry Night, but only because it illustrates that something doesn't have to be photo-realistic to be appreciated as high art. I actually hate how prominent works of art like the Mona Lisa are held up as the greatest thing ever, rather than as examples of technique (in the common mind, art classes are obviously a different story). It's like, you only know the Mona Lisa is supposed to be good because everybody says it's good, and the common person doesn't get to appreciate new art, because it isn't as famous. I think a reboot of the famous works would be interesting. Maybe not with their destruction, but with nobody knowing any information, like who made them, or that they were previously considered paragons of art. They would just become cool stuff to look at, and we could have our own greats.

Also, this question comes at an interesting time, because I'm in the middle of watching Equilibrium.

Why not to simply digitize all of them?
Do you not agree that the work of the artist itself is worth saving just as much as the image itself? I would rather be only able to save one great piece of art than to entrap them all in a digital format. guernica or Scream. I can't choose

The Sistine Chapel by far. The Mona Lisa has millions of high quality prints of it but the chapel cannot be replaced or recreated.

[sub][sub]Funny, I starting thinking about Equilibrium when I saw this. I guess I'll have to have a pistol duel against Christian Bale in the chapel XD[/sub][/sub]

I'll save anything by the Group of 7 or Tom Thompson; many of Canada's greatest contributions to the canvas arts came from these 8 people.

I chose Guernica, I would have named it if it wasn't on the list. It was nice to see that it was an option to vote on.
Agreed. Most paintings don't affect me much, but there's something about Guernica that really speaks to me.

I was tempted to say anything by Van Gogh, but seeing as Guernica was in the list I had to go with that. There's a reason it was hung in the UN building in New York, just outside the Security Council. To remind the diplomats why they're trying to avoid war.

And after reading Orwell's Homage to Catalonia I feel a sort of closeness to the Spanish Civil War.

The Sistine Chapel, because of all the listen options, it's the only work of art that can also double as a place to live.

Choosing from the possible options, The Scream. It's wonderfully stylized and utilizes a lot of techniques very skillfully - it's a good painting to refer to in the education of new artists.

Also, it's just a bloody good painting. Very evocative.

I chose the Sistine Chapel. A beautiful work of art, Michelangelo is one of my favorite artists.

Also, I think that the Mona Lisa is terribly over-rated.
