All games: "Don't pick swimming, because it's useless"

All Final Fantasies: He who dual wields wins

All POKEMANS: Ice beam

All FPSes: Learn to blindfire with rifles and you can't go wrong

All Devil May Crys: Rolling makes you invincible

All sandbox RPGs: Bad karma choices usually give you a sum of caps that is easily substituted somewhere else later on; positive choices usually give you benefits that significantly help later on

All FIGHTAN games: Whoever is least predictable will usually triumph

All platformers: JUMP!!!

Battlefield: Bad company 2 Recon class:
When using the SVU, SV-98, T-88 or VSS, it helps to measure out and draw tiny pencil dots on your screen in between the chevrons, for more accurate prediction of bullet drop at long ranges.
Also, when playing HC mode, the center dot will be useful for running around with your pistol, as you can see where the crosshairs would be and aim decently while moving instead of using ADS mode.

The m95 is the only rifle that does damage against Helicopters. It can also break through thin cover like metal easier and still kill the guy behind it. However it has the slowest rate of fire and reload speed.

A GREAT way to take out pesky choppers that are flying too erratically to shoot down conventionally is to get a few snipers with M95's and red dot sights on them. Each shot does about 10dmg, so 3 people shooting it 3 times will leave it with a tiny 10hp left. Works great in HC, where the blackhawk's mini-guns mow you down before you can acquire the chopper for rockets, and also the fact that since the pilot cant see the health of the vehicle in HC and usually only worry if they get hit with a rocket, they wont know they're being killed until they start smoking and it's too late.

At long range the vss will still take 2 headshots to kill, even in HC mode.

The auto spotting attachment will only work at medium range and closer, not at long range.

Wearing body armor in HC mode will prevent people from killing you in one shot to the body at medium range and further. As you know usually it's one shot anywhere for bolt-actions in HC.

Very Useful: The vss and svu are suppressed, meaning they are much quieter, don't show up as a red arrow on the enemy's map (which can still be viewed in HC mode, you just have to pause the game first and you can see red arrows representing enemy firing.) and, perhaps most importantly, they have no bullet wake, the solid-white contrail you see behind the bolt-actions and the semi-solid one behind normal guns. All they can see is the actual round.

As you can see I love Recon class.

Oh, yes, and another POKEYMENS tip: Gengar has a massive moveset, and his unpredictability makes him an excellent special blaster, alongside the ever popular Alakazam. Do not underestimate the elemental punches - or, for that matter, his prowess as a tox waller.

Any FPS/RPG: Always be aware of your surroundings and never underestimate stealth. If you can remove enemies before they have a chance to attack you, you're automatically putting yourself at an advantage.

Oblivion: DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE A BOW. It seems weak at first, but a poisoned arrow from the shadows can remove a target in a couple seconds.

Any FPS: FFS, L2SNIPE!

For anything that involves strategy and tactics: "Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men." -David Ogilvy

Also: "...the skillful fighter puts himself into a position which makes defeat impossible, and does not miss the moment for defeating the enemy. Thus it is that in war the victorious strategist only seeks battle after the victory has been won."?Sun Tzu, The Art Of War

For pulling off a successful Xanatos Gambit (mostly applicable to RTS): Set things up to where any possible outcome is favorable.

WRPGs: Get a conversation skill or two. Don't argue, just do it.

Modern Warfare 2: You'll have a better time if you just go ahead and use the overpowered weapons, don't try to use the other ones, no one else does.

Bad Company 2: Don't always think that your latest unlocked gun is the best one, use the one that fits your play style

Dragon Age: Don't go Rouge your first time, it's super hard to play as

Starcraft 2: be prepared for anything, don't forget your detector units, also i find it better to go for your natural expansion instead of trying to hide it somewhere unexpected on the map, usually just wastes time and is harder to defend

Fallout 3: Never, ever, attempt to steal anything if someone is watching (not unless you want to be massacred by a mob of raging villagers).

Easiest way to get rid of enemies in vehicles in Just Cause 2? Take out their tires. I should have figured that out from Sin City vol. 7, but ahh well :D

Saints row 2: Don't think you can take an RPG missile to the face, doesn't work -.-

Fire Emblem.

For the love of god, don't use Jagen, Titania (first half of PoR), Marcus, Sothe (First half RD... hell, EVER), or most other characters you get pre-promoted, especially in the first few chapters.

They will eat your experience, turn out to be terrible units, and make the second half of the game total and complete hell.

TIP: Don't play FPS games. Why? Because sometime around 2000, it was decided by a secret, shadowed cabal of Gen X'ers that these were the only types of games acceptable to play in America. So our gaming culture went from being a melting pot of great styles and formats to being a formulaic shit-fest where your main character always happens to be a floating weapon attached to a camera.

Long gone are the days when "gaming" was synonymous with Donkey Kong Country, Parasite Eve, and recreation... Nay, today's games reflect the lives of their audience by being "hardcore" and "gritty". Also, you aren't considered a tr00 gamer unless you spend 75% of your life online, playing the same fucking game in 100+ different incarnations and screaming through a headset every time you die.

Press Alt + F4 for epic win?

This could really develop into a thing.

Except that it's not. Though I second your Battlefield: Bad Company 2 tip. It's horrible to get weapons that are not really (~) good for playing good, but I guess otherwise it would be unfair.

In Star Wars: Jedi Knight III - Jedi Academy, *always* get three ranks in force healing before any other skill. Then take force grip and force lightning. Force grip lets you toss enemy sith over the edges of cliffs, saving you from having to duel them, and lightning lets you carve through massive ranks of normal enemies.

When you're trying to deal with Rosh, try and have a few ranks of force absorption. Activate it, then just go to town on the dudes that are supposed to heal him. Saves loads of time in the long run.
