I completly support this video and , though I am not usally bothered by what some prepubescent american is sceeching about over XBL as I have that lovley mute button I still think it would be much better if it didn't happen at all sadly with the obscurity of the internet you can't bring homophobes or racists to justice (unlike in real life) but its good that people are trying to stop it
I was awesome then and I'm more awesome now (and now I have a spellchecker :p).

In America people care about their soldiers, their heroes. Here in Britain, they're abused and taunted in the street and there's just no need.
I regret to say that this is not entirely true. Just look at the person who started this thread. Some of these people even go so far as to vandolize, riot, and even fire upon recruiting stations. After one recruiter got shot by a sniper, all recruiting stations now have bullet proof glass on all of them. Which is just plain ludacris that our troops are not even safe from the very citizen's they have sworn to protect. Its sad that their are US citizens are acting as Terrorist toward their own country.

And if your your reply to this is well why don't they all quit, please explain to me how that will be benificial to our survival.
And it was in "Poll: I do not feel more respect or admiration for military personnel than I do for anyone else."I can't believe that was a little over a year ago.

Still, it was killing another human being...
Will there ever be a day when humans stop fighting humans, and fight something else, united? >.>
Anyway, good for him, setting a new record.
No, a united world will never happen.
Unless hostile aliens or mole people start to show up.
To unite people, they need a common enemy to hate and/or compete.

One of the most meaningful compliments I've ever received was "I don't want to lose you as a friend."

I guess depending on who says something, words lose or gain in importance. Does that make sense?

So many games give you sidekicks that it's impossible to care about or like at all. Has anyone played a game where this is not the case?
I made this as a thread. It ran to five pages!

A lot of people say the black head crabs from HL2

What about the body covered in black head crabs that kept throwing them at you?
They had the same scream but took longer to kill!

Now those freaked me out!
It's fun to remember.

But getting back to a point, the current curriculum (at least in America) is a focus on English and History. There is very little Math and Science required of current students. In fact I could have stopped taking Math courses my Junior year as I already had Algebra II, but I still took Pre-Calculus so I wouldn't be a poetic brick of a person. I retook IPC not because I failed it, but because I corrected the teacher most every day.

And for the final slap in the face they don't even take English or History seriously! English devolved from knowledge and communications skills to reading about struggling over adversity. They took out "The Adventures of Huckleberry Fin" which is a great novel for "Life of Pi" which is about a Hindu boy being stuck on a life raft with a sea sick Tiger for 8 weeks! That doesn't even work! It was an insipid story that supplanted a masterpiece for the sake of looking more PC. There wasn't even any critical thinking skill exercises. No poetry analysis, no grammer understanding, no detecting of undertones in stories. The biggest fuss in English was making sure you had the right colored pens. Yes in order to write a paper to their liking you had to do the rough draft, then go over it with a red pen, a green pen, a blue pen, a purple pen, a black pen, and a pencil. It was retarded and it did not benefit us in the real world in any way. I dare you to think of a writing job where that is useful!

They dumb down English, remove Science and Math, and History is how awesome America is and how we are superior.

And of course there are the inane rules about clothing and outer appearance. Some of it makes sense such as no gang affiliations on your body, but for every one of those logical rules there are three stupid rules like boys hair can't touch his back collar or go past his earlobe and no black pants. I can't make something that stupid up, there were no black pants allowed at my school. I am thankful for graduating to get away from that intelligence black hole.
Coincidentally, this was also my first thread. The first thing I did here, was make a thread. That's wrong, I misread the recent posts thing. The above was my first post in a thread about bureaucracy in school. I tried to act smarter than I was...

Ha. I really like that game way too much...

This was a thread about summarizing a game in one sentence. Which I did.

I've looked at every kind of Zodiac and I have to say, for once, that only the Western one seems accurate. Not just for me, but my family and friends.
My first post was on the Zodiac?! Of all the things on the Escapist, that's odd.

I do hate The melancholy of what's her face and Lucky Star
WHAT. How could you!? :(

Haruhi is god. :)

Uhm, I wasn't very partial to the first episode of Yu-Yu-Hakusho but as I got more into it, I really started to appreciate it more.
How could I? Simple...It's very popular and I've never seen it. So my friend loaned me the dvd and told me to watch it in Japanese. It was awful. The english dub was very good and much better to endure than the japanese dub but the show was awful. And the reason I'm starting hate anime because of it.
Seeing how you watched the DVD, I assume you watched the episodes in the DVD order ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Melancholy_of_Haruhi_Suzumiya_episodes ), and I can't help but think this is part of the reason why you did not like the series. I really enjoyed the series, but I watched the episodes in the non-linear broadcast order.
Of course there is the possibility that you just don't like that kind of anime.

This gives me an interesting idea, though. I think I will go create a poll to see if the order in which you watch the episodes is relevant to whether you like the series or not.

On topic: I think Lucky star would be a bad 'first' anime, as it seems you have to already be a part of the anime crowd to get it.

Sequels can't "ruin" whatever they're based on. Even if something awesome gets a shitty sequel, it still exists in it's awesome state, unchanged and untarnished by it's shitty follow up. It just means that the first one was better. It doesn't mean that the first is somehow worsened.

Can't argue with that.

I rather enjoyed the witcher, but I'm sure you'll hear that enough in the 100+ comments this will get.
Most of his reviews destroy just about any game, even if they are just about the best thing since sliced bread. Take the reviews for what they are: brilliant humour. If you really want to know how good a game is, talk to a mate who played it or rent it yourself. Or did you expect to find a review from any company that is paid by publishers that is trustworthy (yes gamespot/ign/famitsu/etc. I'm looking at you ¬_¬)

Oh and dad, stay away please.^_^
You know, there is a quite good reason for why most of Yatzhee's reviews bash games endlessly.

... Because most games nowadays suck ass... Companies focus so much on graphics they just forget about... Everything else... And he doesn't destroy every game, he recommended some of the games he reviewed, and clearly wrecked others.

Almost every single RPG/MMORPG nowadays is made by copy pasting the exact same game code on diferent player and NPC models in diferent terrains, with diferent names... But it's ALWAYS the same crap... Same seems to go for every other game genre nowadays that seems to devolve more than evolve...

Portal has been the only exception recently, beeing entirely innovating and brilliantly done... And as such, has receive the credit it deserves.
Remember, this was January 2008, after an almost sadistic wave of rather criminally bad games.
