Also, companies have crossed platforms to nab a bigger fan base before. You know, like when MGS came to the GC. Which is kind of funny that people complain that MGS should be a PS exclusive. Because, oh, I don't know, Metal Gear got it's START on the NES.

Actually it got it's start originally in Japan on the MSX or MSX2 I can't remember which, but in the U.S. it did start on NES, but they were horrible ports that bared little to no resemblance to the original. Ok, I don't know about you, but Microsoft must have some really deep pockets or their steeling money from Bill Gate's wallet. They have now bought out the MGS franchise doing the same as last year when they bought the FF franchise.

Now I have nothing wrong with any exclusives and acually I havent played any either of these games so none of my thoughts are biased.

But now microsoft is taking away any exclusives from the PS3 just to say they have them. I really hope that Microsoft isn't going to make the MGS or FF franchises exclusives for the Xbox 360 because that would alienate any PS3 gamers that have ever thought of playing those games.

My point is that Microsoft must be secreatly deaparete to have to steel Sony's thunder every E3.

What I think companies should do is make a single console that can work with all PS3 games, all 360 games and all Nintendo games all connected to the same server so that gamers can all play together. Or just make a completly new console that has games worked on by all of the big 3 so that there isn't going to be this ruthless fight to the death to see who has the most exclusives. This would also make it much easier for developers to make their games because what ever make only has to be configured for 1 console, not 2 or three.

UPDATE: if anyone is to have many exclusives it should be Sony becase you can acually play the game on the console befor it getts the RROD and if it does get a system failure then the customer suppor is much better.

You have to look at it from the developers point of view. It's a tough economy and people arent buying as many games. Therefore the developers need to get there games in as many hands as they can. With the wii not mattering and the 360 selling way better then the ps3 it just makes sense for third party developers to steer away from exclusiveness. Besides, you should be less concerned about MGS on the 360 and more concerned about machines takeing over the world. Who would have thought it would be a cute little kid.

As for Psychonauts, you are aware that the game didn't sell well, right? Which can be attributed almost fully to little to no advertising, which came about fully because Microsoft dropped the title.

They stopped making good games because they stopped making good games. A studio that until that point has produced wonderous games can all of a sudden start to publish turds. It's happened more than once. Besides, since when has being funded been an inclination to fail at producing a good result, especially since LionHead has had the same benefits and produced good games? This is just the fault of Rare, don't try to pin it on the company that hired them.

I honestly saw adverts for the game everywhere, but it may have just been me. And besides, considering that they now offer the title in their Originals that you can download, I'd hardly say that they "dropped" the title. And why would that have been any reason for the game to not be advertised? It was on the PS2 as well, after all. I should know: that's the system I purchased it for.

Their not going to make to a xbox 360 exclusive, you know how much money they would lose. As a 360 owner, I am mildly excited. As a survivor of a million flame wars, I am unmoved. Sony fanboys need to stop complaining, and 360 fanboys need to get over themselves. However, I need to place more stress on the PS3 users to stop complaining.
It is not Microsoft's fault that Sony doesn't put the same effort into gaming. They released a superior system, yes, but they have not done much to utilize its capabilities, whereas Microsoft is constantly making an effort to improve upon its system or to at least push its limits.
For all the people crying "monopoly," go read "the Octopus," the fictional tale based on train monopolies in California, THAT is how a monopoly is done. All the best monopolies have violent conflict and sheep getting hit by trains.

The thing you will notice here is that Sony does not own the Metal Gear solid franchise in any fashion. Kojima has created his own franchise, and Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft have all leeched off of it. Sony did not create the franchise.
