First rule of being a female in entertainment: Always pretend you are single so losers can drool over you. You violated that rule so I'm going to mark a few points off but a pretty good vid.

Personally I think it was a weaker one but considering I have no musical talent whatsoever I can't really complain.
Same here.

WTF, they rereleased Worms 2!? I still have the original CD. However, this reeks of Micro$oft, as I saw those Mii ripoffs in the video.

Also, I think she's taking Works 2 way too seriously. Did she ever even use the Holy Hand Grenade(Of Antioch)?
If she complains about always blowing herself up, then she is taking the game way to seriously.

Which is weird, because she also claims that she has expertise in physics, which would suggest that she is not always blowing herself up.

No offense, I'm on no one's side, but Captain Crunch, you do seem to be digging yourself a deeper hole. I mean, she's not good. So what? As someone else said, the only reason people like her is because she is a girl...
[small]User thinks Captain Crunch and the other Escapist Staff are trying to stick up for one of their franchises (Rebecca is a big girl, and she can defend herself...)[/small]
What does that bring the count to? Five or six now, that think the staff come to video threads just to lay some smack down on opinions they don't like? And that the reason they have these opinions is to protect the brands?

To reiterate, as plainly as I possibly can:
Having a negative <color=blue>OPINION is different than having a negative <color=maroon>ATTITUDE. I don't think anyone, staff or otherwise will tell you that you can't express a negative opinion here. We wouldn't have negative reviews available for our readers / viewers if that were the case. Stating that you don't like something is perfectly acceptable, so long as you don't express it in a way that is meant to be hurtful, demeaning, or otherwise uncivilized.

It may appear as though we are trying to protect the feelings of Ms. Mayes, but in reality it's more of a peacekeeping action. Think of it as a signal that we're watching extra close for flames and trolls, because there are those who choose to express their negative opinion in a way that does nothing to contribute to the discussion other than start a chain of bile-spewing. If you're ever unsure whether you are about to post something that reflects a negative attitude, odds are you probably shouldn't post it.

Let's use: "people only like it because she's a girl" as an example. What does that have to do with what you saw in the video, rather than the person that made it? Moreso, what does it bring to the conversation, beyond a generalization with a negative attitude?

Why? The man doesn't think the songs are so great, what kind of solid reasoning is supposed to go behind that? Are you going to go up to people who like it and ask them to give some solid reasoning to back up their opinion?

I'd say more, but Abedeus put it better than I could.
Abedeus said:
You still act like you believe I should do anything to post my OPINIONS.

OPINIONS. Don't you understand that? An opinion isn't something you can or should discuss. You can't be constructive about whether you like an apple or an orange.

"Why don't you like apples?"

"Well... they don't taste good."
It's not a question of the validity of a given opinion, but rather the dramatically low content provided. You don't like apples? That's fine. Why post to say you don't like apples? Who the hell cares that you don't like apples, and what can simply saying "They don't taste good" do to improve the work being done by the farmers that grow the apples you don't like? If you don't like apples, don't eat them, and don't post just to say that you don't like them.

If apples don't taste "good", talk about something that does taste "good" to give a point of reference for your distaste.

I don't like the way you stated your original opinion, so I offered something you could do to modify your opinion to suit my personal tastes of what makes a "good" opinion. It really doesn't matter whether you like it or not. The reason I'm not calling out the people who like it out is because they aren't being pointless dicks.

I'm glad that you've provided some reference for your dislike of the series, however, you seem compelled to come back on a regular basis to spew about how you still don't like it. It's really quite simple. If you don't like it, you don't have to keep trying to argue about it.
Aww, how nice.

Someone again doesn't understand that "Comment" isn't the same as "Post a positive opinion".

Also, nice of you to call people differing from your opinion "pointless dicks".
If you would use Google or another search robot, you'd notice that these are not her first videos and she already released a few albums in the UK. Does this mean that Beyoncé, Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera also enjoy positive comments because they are girls/women?

I mean: your comment is seriously irrelative and it's more an argument to defend your own opinion in the first place (because you don't seem to like the music) and on top of that, to take different opinions as unjustified. After all: why would we like the music, because she is a girl in the first place, in your opinion. So if I was gay and I'd like to listen to let's say Robbie Williams, I'd do it because Robbie Williams is a guy?

There is totally no relevance whatsoever to back up your opinion. You don't like the music? Fine. You think different opinions come from people who only like it because of Rebecca's gender? Wrong. You think this series doesn't belong on the Escapist? Then don't pay any attention to it anymore. And if you've still got the urge to bash on someone's work without properly defending your opinion? There's the exit door. Use it.

I hope that this entire discussion is going to cool off, because this can't go on. Generalizing an audience because you think people with a different opinion have terrible taste or just want to get laid: that just doesn't deserve my respect and I find it disgusting.

Going acapella really worked this time round, Rebecca, well done. Loved that song :) To be honest I reckon you should try acapella a bit more, even if it's only at the start or end of each song. It really did work this time and being completely honest this is my favourite Muses video so far. Keep it up :D

I am kindda schoked by the fact that it's apperently the vast majority of people who says they don't like this, when I on the other hand think this is your best yet.

Then again, I just love acapella ^^

Just discovered your stuff, Rebecca. I listened to a bunch of them and loved them all! Used to play a lot of Worms back in the day.

Favourite one of yours so far, really relaxing with I felt contrasted nicely with the worm base genocide (yes that was a tiny bit pretentious)

While Rebecca does have a lovely voice, I found the melody and flow of the song to be less than what my tastes generally account for.

This is by no means a "Bad" song, just one that I personally could not get into.

Better luck next time ;)

Wow. You wouldn't get this on IGN. And it would be pretty lonely on youtube eh. If only the rest of the team would dress up attractively for their videos! This is the first time i've broken out of Zero punctuation, unskippable and moviebob in a while. Apocalypse lane put me off but I might start looking at more random stuff on escapist because this was pretty rewarding.

And I agree about the vibes in Worms nowadays. It sucks. Do the publishers think Worms is for casual children players? They've established a market there now, but Worms used to be much more darkly ironic, with a sort of openly dark, sick & twisted vibe. I think that is where it's at.

I think the only way to go with the Worms franchise now, is to release a big backwards compatible version. It would have the best menu, the ultimate map editor and all, and options of 2D or 3D, dark or cartoony. It would combine the fractured Worms game owning community, so you could always play against your mates online, even if you had to play in the Worms world party version because that's all they owned.

It could also have a campaign mode with a bit of well-developed fiction behind it, and the ability to upgrade your team each turn. Then again, Team 17 should probably go make a new turn based game, with totally different dynamics, or something in a different genre entirely. I get the feeling they are grinding their talent into the dirt by just flogging an established franchise.

These threads always go off the rails. Every one is so bitter and lonely. Jesus.
Suggestions for reforming the comments section I'd like you guys to consider if your up for it:

1.)Aswell as hosting the official thread for the feature, Escapist magazine could let people quickly form their own subthread, with a subtitle like "argument about dick sizes between jimmy and Shalznickle". This subthread would still appear within the official comments section, and it's contributors would still see main thread posts as they argue. However, normal users could tick a box to not display subthread posts and each subthread post would be picked out with some visual element to show it's difference.

Anyone could still join the subthread and class their comment as a part of it, and receive the label if they wished.

How it'd work: From one click the creators and moderators would get an overlay that asked for a title to the subthread, let you go through selecting comments that are a part of it (which would automatically invite the commentors to your subthread), and let you choose the icon/pattern to label the subthread with.
The first couple of lines of the two comments that set up the argument would still be displayed even if subthreads were disabled for the viewer (just because these bits are likely to capture the pretenses of the argument and still be commenting on the feature. Readers can enable the subthreas to see it if they want.)

2.) Make Branch Threads, which would be branching off from the original. These are for when people don't even want their discussion to interfere with the official thread necessarily, and just want to make one comment and put in a link to your new branch thread.

3.) Make a Passing Comment section which just shows one comment, and you can cycle through in a random order... It's nasty having the simple passing commentary mixed in with all the petty arguments.

*****

It just seems like the single thread/comments section we have now is over simplifying things a lot. Forums apparently aren't a place convenient or right enough to take their arguments. Surely some of the things I've suggested would help make these threads more constructive for longer, and alleviate a lot of the wank that spews all over the common discussion area.

And then you could make a sub branching hideable super section, for people who like to police the forums and act like they know how to run the place better than the admins and moderators. We could call it something like, policing elitist wankery or something to that effect. That way it wouldn't interfere with the actual comments being made about the video, that you know... are actually on topic.

On that note... I think this is actually my favourite Mayes Muses now. It got stuck in my head and I've come back to it many times, and I have to admit I actually enjoy it. Sometimes just randomly, her voice enters my head and all I can hear is "Get your lob on get get your lob on"... it kind of frightens me a bit, and makes me want to lob things. Keep it up Rebecca :D

Wow, your spelling and grammar are to my eyes what the Holocaust was to the Jewish peoples.
"Brale?"
Good fucking Christ.

That aside (and it had to be done,) while this isn't normally a series I take much notice of, (to be fair, most of them aren't,) I did enjoy the song.

Okay, so I can't understand the lyrics unless I watch the video, but it was still pretty-sounding, and really, that's all I require my music to be.
right that is extreemly offesncive on many parties and why he acts so aggrecive on a matter of opinion il never know
