Ever since school ended I've been having the urge to eat some Thai Vindaloo and watch horror movies. Unfortunately I was not able to have Vindaloo or find a good horror movie.

The ones I've seen were "supposed" to be good but they bored me to bits and completely ruined themselves. They are Drag Me to Hell and Paranormal Activity.

Drag Me to Hell:
OMG a gypsy put a curse on me oh noes! Oh wait I die in 3 days and you're telling me that every single encounter before that day with this demon thing is just so it can beat me up? Oh that's fine then. Way to ruin the horror aspect. Now to watch some woman go mad, yippee...

Paranormal Activity:
Something is making sounds OMG that means it's dangerous and it's going to kill me! (BTW I slept through half of it so I might have missed some bits). The only good bit was the last 15 seconds of the whole film.

I don't mind watching a slightly dumb film like Saw or Resident Evil. I just want something good or entertaining or actually scary.

Try to get a hold of John Carpenter's The Thing, amazing horror film, it is an older flick but I think all the old special effects makes it better.

28 days later.
It's brilliant.Rabid zombies, jump out of your skin moments and even Christopher Ecclston.AKA. the best doctor ever.
Avoid 28 weeks later at all costs.
with the exception of the jaw-dropping opening and Robert Carlyle,it's just a poor film

Surprisingly "Orphan" was a pretty scary movie and actually pretty good. It does have some lame plot twists though.

Dead Space: Downfall. It may not actually scare you, but it is insanely entertaining to watch the USS Ishimura's crew either descend into madness (with each character handling stress building up in a different way -ie, some will slowly get worse, while others can take up to a certain point and then snap- and it will actually surprise you what each character's true self really is) or get killed off. Granted, this is a sequel, so you need to either play or Wiki Dead Space for the conclusion, but I actually liked it.
The Thing was amazing, and I guess so was It.
Silence of the Lambs' climax will make your heartbeat go up as well (at one point it shows that the killer can finish things whenever he wants).

Yeah Jacobs Ladder is great. It's what silent hill games are inspired by.

Watch the korean versions of the Ring and Grudge, scary shit right their. Oh god now i remember it, fucking can't stand the films.

Event Horizon was terrifying. I also liked Stay Alive, Shutter, The Grudge, and the Ring. Pulse was good too. The Ring is only good in the American Version. Other than that I would check out Japanese horror as they tend to be very scary but not I'm a guy with a mask and weapon who is going to kill you scary, but actually scary.

Meh, I never saw Jacob's Ladder as necessarily a horror film, just giant mindfuck. Still a good movie, and the OP should watch it regardless.

The original Dark Water.

Don't get the remake, it sucked.

Get the original, I guarantee you'll get the living hell scared out of you.

Let's see... I recommend Jacob's Ladder, Silent Hill, Event Horizon, The Ring (American version), John Carpenter's The Thing (1982), Aliens, Alien 3, ... I think that's all I got for now.

EDIT: Oh yeah, almost forgot... as opposed to the first 4 movies in the series (which were mostly just creepy gore), the 5th and 6th installments of the Hellraiser franchise actually qualify as horror movies, and they're good fun to watch at least once.
