but I digress if your old enough to play the Mature rating thats because your MATURE enought to play it and if your parents bought it for you "or the school it dont matter" buys it for you and its above anything than e it means they trust you to be mature enough to handel it

Pardon my bad spelling Etg.
Haven't read the rest of the thread past this post and probably never will, but this made me chuckle. Age is a terrible measure of maturity, and there's a vast number of people below the age requirement that will play/be exposed to such content.

The fact of the matter is, it's the parents' responsibility to ensure either a) their child is not exposed to such things (which in modern society is the closest thing to impossible you'll ever see), or b) to instill morals and values in their children that are strengthened by exposure to such content as opposed to weakened.

My parents, along with most of my friends, went with plan b. Not a single one of us has ever even considered committing an act of unprovoked violence or whatever the dumb ***** is so afraid of.

Long story short: It's the parents, not the game. All that the stupid bint the OP talks about is doing is demonstrating that she has no confidence in her abilities as a parent or role model and is making a subtle request for someone to shoot her.

That womens a nut, and you're so lucky... We're not allowed to play any games in school, break, lunch- after school, it doesn't matter, no games, not even flash games (if you're caught playing games you usually get your internet access take away for a week)...

As long as its not hurting anyone, then just ignore her. I doubt the school is going to completely change themselves because 1 ***** said they should.

Don't be so sure. My mom is exactly the kind of ***** that can make that crap happen, she just doesn't want to.

Religion has no place in school politics at all.

This gives me great rage, yes teach kids about other religion and belief systems but one parent has o right to dictate how other children should be taught.

Next she will ask for the theory of evolution to be removed.
I agree, this woman has no right to force her views upon the school. I'm grateful she was neve at one of my schools otherwise I would personally have confronted her and given her a piece of my mind.

If she told me I was going to hell I would respond as such:

"If people like you are going to heaven I dont want to go there!"

I still think that there needs to be a rather large group of parents who are displeased with school actions for it to make any difference in the way schools are run.

I have no problem with peoples beliefs if (listen carefully here) They don't force them on other people.

Personally I dislike people that send their entire life complaining and bickering with people. I keep having a mental image of them standing at the pearly gates, god comes out and asks "I gave you this life you could us to do good, instead you waste it by making people hate me and being an ignorant idiot. Noob."
i would cry laughing if god called someone noob.

i woulda said died, but if i was seeing god, i would already be dead
or you would be her :D

We had something like this happen when some of my friends and I tried to start a D&D club. What we did was we invited those who were upset with us to sit in on a game. We ran a scenario where we were all paladins and we had to rescue some people from a dragon. Out of 6 dissenters at the beginning, only 1 was still shouting that we will burn in hell. You got to show that not all manga and computer games are equal. Some are violent, some aren't. She might have found a bad example of manga in her son's room or something and instead of doing a little research, she wages a "holy war" on it, grouping it all in one category. But reading what she said and did, she is NOTHING compared to the asshole of humanity, Jack Chick. If ignorance, irrational hate, and irrational beliefs had a physical form, it would be Jack Chick.

She probably got beat up a lot during her childhood. Evidently, not enough. Your mums ought to get together to give her a good whooping.

don't try to make this bigger than it is. suing or getting national organizations involved should be a last resort.

your first step should be to do what she's doing: write a letter to that newsletter, or perhaps your local paper. then, maybe take your argument to the local school board. the sooner you make it clear that you oppose this, the less likely they are to implement her crackpot philosophies in the first place.

this is just dumb....on both parts.
The old lady needs to find something better to do in life, because claiming your individual views to be perfectly in-line with religion, and then going on a religious crusade doesn't help anybody. But in all honesty theres always someone like this. Weather there the mother yelling that their little precious child cant fail a math test, or telling the administration that their abusive. Some mom is going to complain to the school. Most of the time nothing happens though, unless its half the parents in the school.

You need to be more concerned with school, and if your biggest gripe with the school is that you "dont" have steam, and that your library is only "missing" a few books. Than your high school is already a lot better off than mine was.

Honestly when do you have a "break" in school long enough to play anything more than a flash game, and most schools libraries are so small that I never even bothered with them.

People are going to complain, weather they want something or they don't. If You actually cared about this scenario you'd send an email or call the mother and try and have a grown-up conversation with her. Or maybe tell the administration why you "should" have those materials. Otherwise your no better than her...

Let's see, well first off i myself am a Christian. And yes there are possibly a few refrences to Satan in mangas and in comics, however i love mangas and comics and games and movies. And i personally think that it is how you, the reader or user of a game, take the content of the book/movie/game. If you logically think is this just for entertainment and i mean nothing else by it then that is perfectly fine however if you feel that it may be affecting you in someway then i recommend that you look for something else that wont.
