Something which has been amusing me lately. Guys saying that they prefer 2D girls to their 3D counterparts. Now I'm not having a go, I don't mind that you feel that way, I just want to know why some people consider real life girls pig disgusting. Of course you have to deal with all the smells and fluids of a real girl no matter how much perfume they use, whereas it's completely optional with 2D girls whether or not you want to imagine they have any body fluids or unpleasant smells.

Maybe part of the problem is holding the ideal girl on a pedestal as a completely sanitary, angelic creature who does not poop, does not breathe, does not have any of the human bodily functions that a male has. Are there any more reasons?

Isn't this mostly a problem in Japan. I heard of this sort of thing, but I've never seen it here in the U.S.

I find it completely understandable, though I don't consider myself to be one who has such preferences.

It's incredibly easy for humans to become invested in fictional worlds (i.e. WoW, KotoR, etc., etc.); from that base, to me, it seems hardly unreasonable to assert that humans can easily become invested in a specific person in that world--in fact, a key element of many amazing stories in games is making the player care immensely for a fictional collection of pixels, to the point that they may risk the life of their own character in the game to save him or her.

Most of these '2D' characters have some kind of story to them already (manga, anime, novels, etc.), and these people who prefer the company of 2D characters will often times at least be familiar with this person--his or her likes, dislikes, fashion sense, family history; his or her trials, tribulations, hard ships, victories, etc. Is it not possible to go just a step further and develop one's own story to add to this?

It is easier than one would think to wire your brain not to think too hard about some things. The term most people use for this is 'Willing Suspension of Disbelief', and just as it can be used to skim over the hilariously large plot holes in The Avengers, it can help people bypass the question of 'How would a 2D person and a 3D person even interact?'.

It's not unreasonable in the slightest to hold a connection to something that can think, feel, act, and speak like a person--something that has just as much of a history and a life as a person--especially when it is very possible to know more about that 2D person than you know about any 3D person in your real life.

I just find girls drawn in the 2d anime style to be more visually attractive, as far as I'm aware attraction doesn't have an on and off switch and this just happens to be what I'm attracted to the most, as to why I can't really say. Some of you say that 3d girls advantage to 2d is that they can be touched, and I agree that certainly is an advantage for normal people, but not for me. I have as much chance of touching a 2d girl as I do a 3d girl so in that respect they are at the same level, so naturally I go for the one I find the most visually attractive(2dgirl), and by "go" fantasize about ect...

Well yeah I do notice that the anime style (or at least the kind that I'm most attracted to) do tend to put less emphasis on the nose and more emphasis on the eyes, I remember someone once telling me that the reason I find 2d anime girls appealing is since large eyes correlated to cuteness, in any case I'm aware its not Representative of a an actual human being, so maybe could be the same as furryism. though some furries actually dress up in full fur suits, the anime equivalent to this kind of thing would be kigurumi and that's never really appealed to me.

The only argument that speaks for you is the divorce rate but it does not prove anything besides that marriage is an institution that is simply outdated and, for lack of a better word, not working in a society that has improved on the front of individual rights (and also education). (or what should I call labeling half the population of a country without any basis just because of gender?)

I am certain that the women you describe exist, but I refuse to believe that they make such a large portion of the entire female population as you claim they do.
And you might be wise to think about the fact that for women to go around having sex with dozens of men, there need to be men out there willing to have sex with random women as well.

Well I think if you find the (majority , save for perhaps 2-3 of) smells unpleasant, girls probably aren't for you. Mind you, I've heard plenty of women complain about men's smells, but not vice-versa. Anyway, the 'scent of a woman' is one of my favourite things, fluids, also mostly good.
