Im guessing thats supposed to be really dark humor, but it sounds like it was a little too dark for you. Cant blame you.mazzjammin22 said:I've been playing Red Dead Redemption a lot lately, and some of the shit is just creepy. I gathered a bouquet of flowers for this kindly old man's wife. They had been married for 50 years, and he wanted to do something special for her. I gather the bouquet and give it to him. He asks me inside for some tea. When I get in there, his wife his a decaying corpse. No eyes in the eye sockets. And they guy kept treating her as if she was alive. Said she wanted to drive in an automobile. I actually felt pity for the old man, but was nonetheless disturbed.
No, I got the humor. I really did. I sort of guessed it up front and smirked a little when I got it right, but he was so in love with this...corpse. You could tell in his voice he really didn't think she was dead. There was so much happiness and love in his voice. It made me sad a little bit. Just shows how good voice acting does a great job of moving the player.NewYork_Comedian said:Im guessing thats supposed to be really dark humor, but it sounds like it was a little too dark for you. Definitely this. Amnesia is one of the few games that has been able to actually scare/unnerve me so badly. It's quickly becoming a game I won't be able to finish, unless I don't allow myself to become taken in by the game (headphones off/lights on.) It's just so.... ugh, every noise, every creek every damn gust of wind in that game just creeps me out.Vanguard_Ex said:Any minute from Amnesia. ANY.
I've only actually played about an hour or so of Amnesia myself...me and two of the other guys I share an apartment with took it in turns and played on a rotation, but after a while two of us were too scared to play any more and the one of us just finished the whole thingIsshin said:Definitely this. Aside from that... not much aside from the occasional startle. RE4 had a couple things that stood out though. Anybody remember the random wiggling bag sitting in a dumpster? It never did anything... It just... laid there wiggling in the same spot. I kept running back to that room to see if anything happened to it.. It just felt like something bad would happen. The regenerators weren't too bad,it told you how to kill them. But the refrigerator man scared the crap outta me the first time.
Oh, and, can't forget finding the giant lake fishy for the first time... I just needed some food![]()

Indie game by a group who's gone their seperate ways by now called Studio Trophis. Starts out with you in a coffin, goes downhill from there.
I swear, that corridor still creeps me out. You'll know if you play (or have played) the game
BLARGH.
"I only wanted to help him..." MOST TERRIFYING LINE EVAR.
fuck it. Im going to just man up and do it. We cant live sheltered lives forever.Tupolev said:It's a tricky question. I don't see Ravenholm as really being all THAT scary, so much as somewhat scary in an awesome way. It also doesn't leave so much to the imagination that average players will be horrified at length.Darkgoosey666 said:You see now im very scared, im on the first few missions of HL2 and people are telling me the ravenholm part is scary. And i dont do scary. i mean fuck the first zombie scared me.
just how bad is it exactly?
If you "don't do scary", though, do expect to jump a little when the undead break into the energy drinks xD
Actually, I think I might call it more "awesome" than "scary", though it has heaps of both. You'll understand why I mentioned the former attribute pretty early on in the mission!
