i don't know about your country region, but in Denmark the difference between a elite and a slim is 2 euro, and games for the xbox cost 4 euros more, but i agree that the xbox have an significantly larger library of games, i cant say anything about the quality of the older ones as i only use my slim and i was mainly a pc gamer until a few months ago.

edit: and i completely agree on the better store, PSN is nothing compared to XBLA, lots of awesome smaller games.

Well my country is much different.. To get a PS3 with 1 controller 1 game will cost you over 300$ and to get a XBOX Pro the one with the 10 gig harddrive.. Its probably the same thing as this slim or whatever you called it.. To get 1 of those with 1 controller 1 game online for a year and a headset will cost you 240$ So you see the big 70 or more $ difference? The library on the 360 is much bigger and the community is much bigger(Not necessarily better tho lots of 12 year old douche bags..)And yes PC RTS are 10000x better than any console RTS good example Age of Empires.. But i digress the point is that the 360 is just a better deal in the long run..

I 'think', that what they mean is traditional JRPG, where V is classed as an action RP game :-S Not sure personally, which is why I put the caveat lector 'according to IGN', in IYSWIM?

I'm going to recieve a neat $500 soon and thought now may be the time to invest in a PS3. I have every other console, but am feeling this hole in my collection. The problem is I don't feel as depressed by this predicament as I thought I would when it first hit the shelves. I'm yet to see a PS3 exclusive that demands I own the console, but then I thought perhaps I'm not trying hard enough.

I enjoy JRPGs and adventure games. From the get go I always said I'd get a PS3 when Tekken 6 and FFXIII came out, but as we know, fate, good marketing and a grab for cash stepped in to ensure my 360 would play them. The only thing it has going for it now is Versus XIII, and who knows when that'll be released.

So, if you love the PS3, tell me why someone like me should own one, with emphasis on the awesome games I am yet to trip over.

DONT GET ONE!, get an Xbox insted with COD:MW2. the xbox has better connection to the game severs then the PS3

I wish people would stop calling games overrated like it somehow detracts from the enjoyment of playing a game. Yes, big budget games like uncharted do get adverts spammed all over the internet and TV, but that's due to what I think a lot of gamers forget... games are there to make money. They do get thrown in your face and you wil be told they are the best thing since sliced bread. That's because the developers and companies want your money for their hard work. The games industry is not about making sure every game is 'rated' for exactly how well it plays.

All you have to do not believe every advertisment or review you read and make up your own mind. The amount of time some people spend posting about how overrated a game is I wonder if they actually consider a good game to bad just because they HEARD it was an awesome game and were left short. That and if the concensus of the internet community makes them lose sleep at night.

To be honest, Alot of the PS3 exclusives are just overrated.
Killzone 2
Infamous
Heavenly Sword
Hell even MGS4 wasn't as good as the PS2 ones.
Still, for Insomniac games it's worth it. Plus some older 360s games that got ported have extra goodies.
Seeing as how you own a 360 though, it's not really worth it.

Heavenly Sword... ugh... to me it seemed like they took God of War, made the main character a girl, and replaced all the walking around with cut scenes. Or that was all I noticed before I got bored.

LittleBigPlanet is pretty fun (or it is on PSP, have it on PS3 but haven't tried it yet), and Demon's Souls is about the only other exclusive that actually interested me.

Don't need one. When you're cluttered down with 50+ pounds, the last thing you'd want to do is jump. Plus, the enemies are easily as big/bigger (Save for the wolfs) than you, ergo, jumping is pretty moot.
