Master of Orion.

Faithful was I through MOO and MOO2.

Betrayed I was by MOO3.

Biggest disappointment of my life (ive led a happy life)
Man you couldn't be more right about this. MOO3 was such a let down in so many ways it's unreal. At least the graphics and concepts were nice but the more or less inevitable population victory always super pissed me off.

Prince of Persia.
I loved the sands of time on original xbox, buggy as it was
I had a thousand "DONT DO IT!!!" thoughts in my head, and i still bought it. I cant stand the sight of that game, i just want it gone. I wish my prince of persia died, and not my mass effect...

Metal Gear solid.

Metal Gear 1 & 2 were fantstic games, if a bit archaic.

Metal Gear Solid is quite possibly one of the best games ever made. From that point on it was all down hill. From the Aneurysm inducing story that was MGS2 to the boring as hell game that was MGS3 It was a huge disappointment.

Silent Hill. Do I have to say anything. 5 sucked balls! It took everything I love about the Silent Hill series, shat on it and gave it to American developers who, in turn, jerked off on it and then tried to sell it to me for 60 bucks

Jak and Daxter. I get it Naughty Dog, you wanted something new, you went for Uncharted, that's good. But just because of that you don't have to give away Jak and Daxter to some company making Ps2 and Psp games.

MGS4

The change in controls and no option to change them back to the classic controls I just didn't like. Of course I got used to them and finished the game, but I love the classic controls a lot more.

For nitpicking: they made O=cancel and now you don't call Otacon to save.

Easy. Knights of the old republic and deus ex. Both had sequals that were terrible, and deus ex: invisble war was a dumbed-down, broken, unplayable shadow of its former self. I could not finish either of them. other than that, i usually like the turns most series have taken.

Stories and series can't cater to the wishes of every single fan. In the end, someone is gonna wind up upset at what develops. That's really all there is to it.
What they did was not only destructive to the current lore. Its insulting to gamers if you really think about it. They dumbed it down and added breasts as if they were patting us on the head, afraid of intimidating us.

For the love of all thats holy they turned Garona into a stripper!

Luckily I'm only a true fan boy of the Half Life Series, and I feel anything but betrayed. I do feel betrayed by Nintendo but they did what makes them serious dough, and I can't say I wouldn't have done the same in their position.

I love Final Fantasy games. Well, I did. I've been playing them since I was 12, starting with VIII and IX, and later VII, and those three were great games. They had their own worlds (with little hidden nods to the other games), their own races (Moomba!, whatever the hell Quinna was, Shumi, etc...), and big, complicated plots. Hell, I even like X, partly because of the novelty of actual voices, partly because it was a shiny new game with a main character that just begged to be made fun of.
I played X-2, and even though it's kind of fun for those days when you have nothing to do and don't really care if you totally waste it, it was not a Final Fantasy game. Isn't the point that they're a FINAL fantasy for that particular world? As in, The End, no more, if you fail the world is gonna be blown up by some egomaniac with a ridiculous plan? I'm pretty sure they were made to stand alone with no sequels

And now all the crap they're doing with VII (Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus, Advent Children, and I'm pretty sure there's more than that), Kingdom Hearts, and the fact that XII is more like an MMO than an RPG I'm not even sure I'm going to play XIII, which looks like something from a totally different series in the previews.
I'll just stick with the older ones, if it's all the same to you, Squeenix.
