Guys, guys, you're missing the point.
I'm not saying it's wrong to finish main quest. I'm simply wondering why :
1. ...take on the main storyline, finish
only it, without trying some subquests on the route.
2. ...stop playing Skyrim afterwards, leaving roughly 3/4 of map unexplored.
Some may have limits to their gaming time
I don't think that crpg gaming and Bethesda's games in particular were meant for such people. I'm not trying to insult anyone, but c'mon. Sandboxing games for someone who desn't have time ?

but also I'm hearing that many of the technical issues are showing up the larger the file size gets. Maybe they want to finish before the freezes/crashing sets in.
Possible, but rather far fetched, don't you think ?

Guys, it's wonderful to see that at least few of you
play this game like it was meant to be played. I'm proud of you. No. Really i am. Thank you.

Who cares how quickly you finish the game? Why is it your problem anyway, let people play how they want to (...)
Why do you think i have problem with that ? I'm simply curious.
The bit I bolded is why I think you had a problem with it.
Like i said before : I don't have any problem with people playing games as they wish to. I'm simply curious why they do it that way. I find it a little weird that despite me stating that clearly you're still playing that card.
Anyway...
You say
"immersed". That's interesting...
Ok, let's elaborate : how could you/your character possibily know that Alduin wants to destroy world ?
I survived initial attack, killed one or two dragons, did Hrothgars quests, wandered here and there, doing a little this and that, sided with Blade's agent, spoke with some people, stole some things, and still i have (or rather my heroine has) no clue about motivation of dragons or whoever is responsible for their return.
Hell, nobody does. Hrothgars, most powerful wizards, advisors to Jarls are only scratching their heads, and producin some rumours, speculations about why dragons are back, but still, nothing solid, nothing substantial.
Yet you say you felt time running out. Not only Skyrim's (as i understand) but whole world's. How's so ?
And please bear in mind : what drives me is curiosity. If i'd like to offend you, this conversation would be different.
