Sorry i guess we know how to have fun.
Do you think the strippers were having 'fun'? Do you think they feel good about themselves? I mean hey, if you have fun by demeaning and objectifying woman then well theres not much I can say. But really, next time think about how your actions make others feel.
Sorry to be quoting you, but its a job, and some have good fun with it. Don't forget about those male strippers being objectifed by women also. Sex sales, both ways.

I'd be waaaaaaaaaaaay too uncomforatable. I would look away from the dancers and feel weird about the inevitable erection.

Ask the women of I hit it with my axe if they feel bad.

They took the job. They aren't forced into it... I hope. They're objectifying themselves, or as some would like to say, empowering themselves.

Not my place....I mean, I'm all for women. But not in a demeaning way like that...
Same here yeah, regardless if some do enjoy their job, it's not my idea of entertainment really. And everyone is entitled to their opinion...I must admit you guys were a lil' harsh on Girl With One Eye. She did have some good points regarding the principle of it is women getting paid to get naked, the oldest profession.

To get on topic however, it was good you had a nice night out but it's really not my scene at all. It does look to be a lil' degrading and still has kinda a stigma attached to it in modern day life

No. I'm far too shy to ever go to a strip club without a large group of people and considerable quantities of booze.

I'm not really much of a bar/club person in the first place, so it doesn't really do it for me, but I have nothing against the idea, either. I've gone occasionally for bachelor parties and stuff, and it's mildly amusing. Actually, sometimes more than mildly. The most recent time was when my friend from high school had to find a place for a bachelor party for his friend from college, and he dragged a couple of us along to go out for dinner and check out a couple places. My girlfriend was very disappointed she was busy that night, because she really wanted to come with us, because she thought it would be funny. She was very right; few things are as ridiculous as a group of awkward computer nerds at a strip club.

I go on occasion.

I like loud music and am a fan of the opposite sex. I haven't been to one in a while, as i moved to a new town and not really much going on down here. but before i moved i went to one about every two weeks or so.

If you go with a large group of friends for a special event and spend a lot of money, it's a fucking blast. If you're sending someone off to the armed forces or celebrating a milestone birthday, the girls do all kinds of crazy stuff just for the hell of it. Just make sure you do spend money, and don't bring anyone who's liable to get creepy and separate from the group.

For those of you judging the OP, think about this: those girls are going to strip regardless, and they're mostly going to do so for super creepy regulars who want private dances and special treatment. A group of guys who aren't really looking for exclusively sexual interactions, and who don't mind spending money without "extras", represent a breath of fresh air in those dank and depressing pits. That's why the girls really go crazy; they're letting themselves go and genuinely having fun. Seems counter-intuitive to hate on the customers that actually make this debasing job semi-bearable every once in a while.

On the flip side, hitting up the strip club without a very good excuse (big event) makes you creepy. Sorry.

Yeah. They're all prostitutes, except that nobody is forcing them to do what they're doing. They could work at your local Seven-Eleven, your local Burger King or they could be an employee everywhere else.

It just happens they make more as strippers, so that's what they do.

I could see your point if these women were being forced. They're not.

Your point is invalid.

We are not objectifying the women. They are objectifying themselves.

OT:
A couple of times. Not the best times of my life, but certainly not the worst either. I'm a stripper magnet, for some reason. I've been at several private parties where strippers would show up, and they always like grinding their arse on my crotch during their performance.

~~
Anyway...
Strip clubs can be fun, yes :)

My favorite time going was with a bunch of coworkers to surprise a coworker who was entering an amateur contest.

Yeah you're smarter than we were.

For whatever reason we thought we'd show our support, but ended up embarrassing her.
I refuse to believe you were that stupid. Just admit you all wanted to see your cute coworker naked. Own your creepiness.

Yup, a dark smelly room filled with people jerking it to scarred women. Real awesome place to be. While he is an idiot(and a creep) its not objectifying them since it is of their own free will(debatable since they make more doing it its an obvious choice). All the same though it's creepy as fuck.

want to be objectified and treated like an object? try working in a fast food restaurant, or as a scab worker in a factory, or a phone monkey in a call center somewhere.

What these girls do isn't any better or worse than any of the other countless other jobs out there, but yet if someone admits to enjoying their services, they are labels as some kind of perv who is taking advantage of the fairer sex or something. Yet if the same girl was trying to make a living waiting tables and getting treated like trash by her manager and yelled at by customers, no one would be coming to her defense. How is this fair?

A job is a job, and all the stripper i have talked to seem to enjoy their jobs a lot more than some of the other people i talk to.

As a feminist, I'm never stepping foot in one of those places. That is to say, as someone with a basic respect for women.

Gee thanks, Hubert.
I still fail to see how the fact that more money equals more money renders my point invalid.

Nobody is forcing anyone to become strippers. From my own experience, it's women and men who are quite narcissistic, or getting there, who love the way they look and the attention they get from it.
