well it was sort of 2 in the morning when I posted that but today I picked her up from school, we got lunch and spent the day together so that was fun, and our family is going camping together next weekend so well get a lot of time together then even if it is restrained...

the real meaning was about stalking. it was talked about in one of those VH1 things. it acts all nice but deep down its a stalking song. a lost love would implied i had one in the first place, and i seen many "true love" couple break up after a couple months so its pretty common knowledge. hell penn and teller covered "true love" and how it was utter and complete bullshit.

2. humans are not the kind to stay with one mate for life and in nature animals move between mates. scientifically, he could very well lose "love" for her by a loss of chemicals in the brain that simulate "reward". proven by scientific study.

3. mythbusters didn't cover love.

4. true love isn't a broad definition. true love is OVERUSED and it only ends up being hilarious when it does fall to pieces.

To be honest, you're sounding quite bitter, as if you're angry about never having loved.

2: There's a difference between a scientific study and life. For one thing, control groups can be massively unreliable, and even if they weren't, there's always a statistic or minority you won't catch.

3: I'm not saying that the Mythbusters have covered love, I'm just saying that Penn and Teller are nothing but shadows of the Busters. Any busters in fact, especially the Ghostbusters.

4: It's not hilarious when it falls to pieces. You're just being an asshole. What about people who weren't really obnoxious and "HEEEEEY! WE'RE GOING OUT 4 EVA!" like you seem to think everyone is? What if they're married or something, and living together? Some possibilities of a relationship ending: financial ruin, depression, maybe losing some friends as a result of being seen as "the bad guy", loads of stuff. Well, not knowing you personally, I don't know if you're just being an asshole or if you're bitter about never having loved, but it doesn't matter, really. What matters in this thread is this girl is the OP's FIFTH. COUSIN. THROUGH. ADOPTION. Seriously? If it's just a conservative family he has to worry about, then I'm confident that he'll struggle through it, and not necessarily lose contact with them. But, as others in the thread have suggested, and you've ignored, he's going to wait a while and see how things go before telling them, so it's not as if they're eloping to Vegas or anything.
