Katie made to get in the car, giving Dira a wave from the passenger side, but paused when she saw the inside of the back seat. "Wait... that can't be right," she said, ducking back out to look at the outside properly. It looked like any other car she'd seen... that didn't make sense, because the back seat had appeared to be bigger on the inside.
"Um... while I don't quite get how the back seat works, hi, Dira. As Leland said, it's been a while," she said, carefully getting into the back seat. She left a space between herself and Requiem, lest Talbot flipped out and tried to peck at her. She didn't quite get why the alien bird didn't like her. She was around Leland a lot of the time, and she'd been there when he had hatched from his egg. You'd think he would like me after all this time, but no. Crazy bird, she thought, settling into her seat.
