Society of Justice 3: Crisis on the Earth

Eric looked at Rowan confused some. "Umm I don't really work in that part of Gentron, I'm head of internet security really. Yea I read some of the things Alex is doing but I can't do testing like she can." Eric said then took a bit to think.

"Well I know Alex would look to take a look at you DNA. Hell Alex also has abnormal DNA due to her father. Now a days she's been working on enhancement programs." he added his face riddled with a puzzled look.

"Then eggs Benedict it is." Alex said kissing Richard one more time before pulling away from him; she grabbed his ass as she pasted by. She reached up to the pan rack and pulled down everything she knew she's need, a pan for cooking the bacon, a pot for the eggs and another pot for the Hollandaise sauce.

After that she walked to the refrigerator and pulled out everything else she's need, eggs, Canadian bacon, butter, fresh chives, and lemon juice, the English muffins where already on the counter waiting for her.

"Come in," Levi said as he heard the knocking on his door. He turned around to see Taryn open the door and enter with her laptop in hand. With a slight smile, he turned back to his desk momentarily to see if an adequate work space had been cleared. Good enough, he thought. Facing Taryn once more, he cleared his throat. "So, what did you have in mind?" he asked, referring to their plans for Brian's weapon.

"Sounds good to me." Richard replied as he cleaned up the now finished can and put Sam down on the floor only to have her jump back up on the counter and lay down.

"Well there goes that idea." Richard mumbled as he began to make a cup of tea for himself.

"Good, you've all earned a rest after what happened. I'll take Renton to the park if you want to get some rest though." Lillian replied.

"I see..." Rowan mused, thinking over Eric's answer. "I guess there's not much to do besides wait for her to show up at the Promenade." The words were spoken more to himself than Eric. "Um... I'm gonna go take a walk for a while. Dunno when I'll be back, but hopefully Alex will turn up by that time." With that he got up and made his way out to the front of the Promenade, carefully avoiding a construction worker and the cable trailing behind him, and set off at a fairly fast-paced jog down the road.

Running solo gave him time to think and plan ahead for what was to come. Thinking was good, but his mind wandered to the genetic analysis and whatnot which he wanted to undergo. What would they find out? Was it possible that his own DNA had been changed, like that of Alex? It made sense, considering the virus to which he knew he had been exposed. Rowan continued to think along those lines as he ran, intending to go around the block a few times before returning to the Promenade.

"'Dark and evil ancestors'? That seems a bit... disturbing, I think the right word is, Jase," Katie noted aloud as she stepped out of the car. "Still, I suppose it can't hurt to learn more about them if you don't know for sure. People must've done some strange things back in those times."

She turned to Leland and gave him a smile, saying, "This is all familiar to you, right? Um... Just remembered. I have no connection to magic besides you; is there some kind of, I dunno, 'non-magical beings forbidden' thing?" She was a bit concerned about that, not knowing the city's customs or traditions or whatever.

"Oh no Lillian, I'm good to go. I look forward to playing with Renton, and I'm not that tired or anything," Garrus replied, once more everything was in the diaper bag before saying, "I think we'll head there now, if you want to go with us."

"You're fine Katie. I mean, I don't think there is anything like that around here...if there was then Tommy wouldn't have invited everyone then, right? So you, Jason, and Ethan should be completely fine," Leland replied back, wondering if Tommy had ever mentioned something like that about the magical cities.

Tyson just lied on the couch listening to Rowan and Eric's conversation. Some of it was being drowned out but Tyson got the just that both Alex and Rowan had some genetic manipulation done to both of them as well. The conversation ended and Tyson watched Rowan head out of the room. I don't need to ask him or Brian. I already know they were out cold when I lost it.

Tyson sat up and walked over to the light emitting drunk and the algaymist. "Do either of you know what happened to me in Levi's mind after I grabbed Victor?" Tyson's voice cracked at the end of the sentence while trying to compete with the construction noise. He lifted his hand to his mouth and coughed a couple of times and checked his hand. There was blood in it and Tyson quickly stuck his hand in his pocket and wiped the blood off inside of it.

" Don't worry about the Council Agent's coming after you Katie, it's been fifty years since we were under a masquerade." Dira told Katie as she went to the truck and opened the back, inside there where several large crates.

"So this is a shipment of some fabrication tools I ordered and some raw materials, I just need these moved to the back of my shop." She said, before move to her shops door and opened it up for the other.

Tommy walked to the truck and grabbed a refrigerator sized crate and lifted it onto his back. He followed Dira inside the shop and set the box down inside the workshop area in the back of it. If one didn't know any better, they'd assume Dira made a living making and selling knock-off products, on the shelves of her store was an eclectic mix of mp3 players, sneakers, designer bags, and jewelry all from different brands, and each one with a tag that explained the particular enchantment that Dira had bestowed upon them,

"Well..." Taryn walked over to Levi's desk and set her laptop down on top of it. After plugging in the machine she hit the power button. A quiet series of tones indicated that the machine was loading. "Since you mentioned a battle scythe I was thinking that we may be able to give him an electrified blade. Maybe."

As she briefly explained her idea Taryn loaded up a blank 3D Imager window and set her hands on the side of the laptop. With a small frown of concentration she began to communicate with the machine. On screen, the window she had opened wavered as though the desktop had suddenly become liquid. Then crude lines began to be drawn. Using her mental image of the hockey stick as a source Taryn electronically sketched out a basic bladed weapon. She opened a new window for each 'view' as she worked. Once upon a time what she was doing would have required a tablet and very expensive software. Now it just took a minute or so of visualizing. When she was finished Taryn sat back and surveyed her creation.

There were five windows open on her laptop now, each displaying a different angle of the weapon. Top, bottom, left, and right. A fifth screen displayed the image in 3D with a flat matte grey color. Two text files listed the materials required and the temperature marks for the metals. The basic outline was finished. For the more intricate details they were going to need to collaborate. Taryn stepped to one side and gestured to the screen. "Something like that." she said with a grin. "I'm not sure about the electric part yet."

Alex set a small pot of water to heat up for the eggs as she started work on the bacon in a cold pan then started to make the Hollandaise sauce. She sang softly and looked over at the empty coffee pot and frowned. "I should fix that." she said pulling some water out of the air and put enough in the pot for a few cups of coffee. She used some spare time to ground up some fresh grounds and put it in the coffee pot turning it on after words then went back to her cooking.

"Maybe there's something wrong with me Richard." Alex said out of a blue while watching the pan of bacon. She had become worried she couldn't become pregnant but also it didn't make seance for that to be the case. Her father made sure she could give birth, or some she thought.

Eric looked over at Tyson. "I'm sorry but I took cover. All I remember is seeing Alex get the shit beat out of her by Victor." Eric didn't really want to go into much detail past that not wanting to remember seeing Alex that badly hurt. "I wish I could be of better help." he added.

"Nah, you're genetic manipulation makes that one impossible. Rather a blessing, you know you can conceive. If there is a problem with one of us it simply has to be me. No other way to explain it." Richard replied.

"I would love to come with you Garrus. It's been far too long since either of us just stopped for a minute." Lillian said before taking the bag gently from Garrus.

"I think I'll fulfill the obligation to my gender and carry the bag." She joked.

Alex stopped for a bit to think and looked at Richard. "It can't be you ether. My sick father would have made sure you had no issues conceiving ether. Maybe it's just bad lucky really. Hell rather it be bad luck on out part and not have an issue." Alex said flipping the bacon and string the sauce. "Maybe tonight will be our night." she said sounding optimistic.

"And then you leave me with nothing to carry; makes me look like either a weak chump or the type of guy who forces the woman to do all the work. Neither of which I am nor would want people to think of me," Garrus joked, opening the door for Lillian as they headed out to the park.

"We can just walk there, only a few blocks away. And it's good exercise too. Hopefully a few hours there will make Renton ready for a nap," he added.

Leland looked at the boxes inside with curiosity, levitating them out of the trunk to make it easier for Tommy to get them.

"Dare I ask what's inside?" he said with a grin, keeping a close eye on Ethan who was starting to wander off to explore, "You stay over here for now Ethan, the tour will be soon."

Levi inspected Taryn's quickly conjured weapon plans and nodded in approval. "We can figure out the electric part when we crack open the hockey stick," he said as he hefted Brian's soon-to-be weapon and placed it on the workbench. "Before we do anything, of course, we'll have to gather the materials. I should have some of them on-hand, but we'll have to make a trip or two..." he mused aloud. "We can do that now, or later if you want".

Jason smirked halfheartedly at Katie as she responded to him, the expression quickly fading as she looked elsewhere.

"Disturbing...but true." He thought, looking down briefly before getting his mind off the subject for the time being. He wandered towards the house as Leland and Tommy brought more boxes in.

"Yeah Dira. What will you do with all this stuff?" He asked, a hand curiously (if cautiously) floating towards one of the small MP3 players.

Steven's drink stopped halfway to his face when Victor was brought up again. So much blood So much blood So much blood So much blood So much blood All that blood spilling on the floor clouding my vision So much blood...

"Victor was killed. Levi killed him. That's all that happened," he said automatically. He refilled his glass. He drained his glass. He did that four times.

'Hmm...' So her options where to spend the day stuck in her room organizing and cleaning or go shopping and then work on a project with Levi. It was not a terribly difficult decision. If the scales weren't already tipped in the favor of company the fact that Levi seemed more lively would have done it. 'I wonder if he'll be willing to talk now...'

"We can go now." Taryn replied. She reached forward to plug in the laptop to the wall socket, then sent the materials list to the printer ."If you're free that is." she continued. Taryn smiled briefly. "I'll just need to grab my jacket."

"Anything is better than sitting around here all day. Go ahead and get ready," Levi replied. Which was true. He didn't want to spend the entire day laying on his bed dwelling on the traumatic course of events in his mind. Levi was willing to do anything to get the terrifying and depressing thoughts out of his mind, and this project was a godsend. This was the first time since the battle in his mind that he felt alive.

Dira ran up to the box Leland was levitating and checked the side. "Uhh, just some iron ingots, for making swords and stuff. You can put that in the back. But be careful with the rest of them, some of these boxes are packed with things that can react badly with magic, if I could have used magic to get these inside I would have, but I'm afraid of a reaction with some of the more volatile components." She warned before poking her head back in, " Oh most of those things are for sale, mostly just cantrips and basic enchantments, I keep the more dangerous stuff in the back along with the commissions. You can touch that one, it's a joke enchantment that makes the listener do the Dougie."

"Meet you in the lounge." Taryn said as she exited Levi's room.

By the time Taryn reached her own room the printed materials list was already sitting in the printer tray. She grabbed her jacket from the closet and pulled the garment on quickly. The custom made jacket was both a comfort and comfortable. A few pocket searches located her keys, just in case they were taking her car. It kind of depended on who parked the closest. 'Too bad we can't use the ship...' Images of landing the Merriweather in the mall parking lot had Taryn laughing quietly while she re-locked her door. Shifting her phone and netbook to her jacket pocket the technopath walked quickly to the lounge.

Katie threw a skeptical look Dira's way when she mentioned the joke enchantment; she was also concerned about what she meant by 'the more dangerous stuff'. Nonetheless, she moved to assist Leland with the shifting of the other boxes. Almost instantly she figured out why Dira had requested Tommy's help; just moving one of the boxes was difficult due to its weight.
