For some odd reason, I feel that as retarded the iPad is, it actaully will not flop.

People forget that there's actually a decent-sized group of individuals who all line up to eat the crumbs off of Steve Job's toilet seat for their hard earned cash.

As for the PSP: grow your library before you start talking shit. I've owned a PSP since the 1000's launched, and how many games to I have for it? Around 12. That's not a lot for a portable console. I have about 30 PS3 games and I honestly don't want to count how many PS2 and PS games I own, so it's easy to see that the portable games market isn't exactly Sony's strong suit.

I love my DS.

My PSP broke on me. And I'm not gonna replace something I rarely used.

Sony may be quality at manufacturing with its home consoles (PS1,2,3), but the PSP is really poor quality. At least the original PSP.

I once dropped my DS down the stairs by accident. It fell on the top step and bounced down. The game didn't even freeze and I kept playing. Original brick DS, that is.

hm... whats the bigger rip-off?

PSPGo or iPad

We have a conundrum.
Well the only people who would be stupid enough to buy a PSPGo would buy an iPad. And I think that the iPad will be a huge flop.

Damn hipster idiots...

Thats an odd statement to make. As much as I think that the iPad will flop, its not like the PSP is much of a success compared to the DS...

Besides I'm pretty sure a lot of people will buy the iPad for different purposes... Apple certainly haven't started marketing it for gaming purposes thats for sure.
They haven't marketed it for much else either. It's just all around awful. But this is Apple, so that's no surprise.

As far as DS vs PSP goes... there's really no reason aside of poverty not to have both by now.
Hey. I take offense to tha- oh, you're right. I'm poor. *sobs* ok, all better. Yeah. I wouldn't mind getting a PSP, but I have a DS. Lately I play one game. Advance Wars DS. I've had it for probably about five years or something. Still not finished to my standards. That game is massive. I haven't actually seen a lot of games on PSP that I would like, but there are a few, so maybe when I get a job Sony. Rest assured, I will not be buying an iPad.

Sounds decently reasonable to me, he believes the iPad will be a gateway console to the PsP, which makes sense because I don't see the iPad sating anyone's gaming appetite.
what? you mean an oversized brick with an apple logo won't convince anyone about it's gaming potential? Damnit!

I <3 my PSP 1001 ^_^

I've often wondered what has been going on at the Sony HQ over the last few years. Only conclusions i've made are their great minds were replaced with monkeys.
And i think Mr. Koller may have lost it a wee bit. I mean there is no logic to his thought process.

Also, i'd buy a DS rather than a PSP.

Really? My PSP-1000 has been knocked around in boxes, manhandled (and bitten) by three year olds and dropped down stairs and still works fine. To this day I maintain that if I had enough PSPs and Nokia 3210s, I could build a house that would survive an earthquake.

Compared to my iPod Nano and my current Nokia... Whatever the hell it is. 8250 or something. Cheap pieces of crap. My iPod can charge, but cant sync any more because I dropped it three feet onto a carpeted surface...

I think sonys top brass knows more about this shit than me, which is probabley why they are sony top brass and I wotk in a pet shop, so... if they reckon on the iPad being a good thing for them, then some good may well come out of it. lol

The ipad isnt exactly supposed to be a gaming console though, it's for business men and the like to use for work.
Hmmm no, you're thinking of a blackberry. Or maybe a Sony Vaio. The iPad is that thing that requires you to look extremely goofy while doing pretty much anything, and that can't connect to anything if you want to do a presentation. You know, the opposite of what a serious business man would want.

I have studied the features constantly fregarding the Ipad and have come to one conclusion, it's a %500 niche peripheral to all of apple's other, useful products.

Personally I think that the PSP was poorly thought out. At the time of its release it was way too expensive and it still is too fragile for gaming on the go. I also have never been a fan of the multi-functional unit. I want a handheld console to play games... not listen to mp3s, not watch movies on a 3 inch screen... none of that. That is why I own the more durable and affordable DS. Hell, I think that the DSi is a step in the wrong direction.

As for the idea that iAnything is helping PSP sales.. that is just about as foolish a link as you can get. Correlation does not imply causation.
