I was playing Shadowrun (yeah, people still play this game) and round 1, the dwarf on my team buys a minigun and mows down the entire team before jumping off the map to kill himself. Well, if that wasn't bad enough, somebody voted to not kick him, figuring it wouldn't happen again. So we spawn, get gunned down, and watch him jump off the map. When the match finally ended, the entire enemy team was laughing their asses off at us. But it was ok. The dwarf joined again on their team.

Everyone's met at least ONE douchebag while playing. The try-hard. The franchise snob. The neckbeard. The hacker, the griefer, the n00b-t00ber, the racist, the quickscoper, the butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker; DOUCHEBAGS. So feel free to share tales of your encounters with douchebags while gaming.
If you're upset about people quickscoping, or putting effort into their play ("try-hard"), you may be a douchebag. Not saying you ARE one, per se, as I don't like to jump to conclusions, but I've always thought such epithets were created to make people who aren't good gamers feel better. I mean really, "try-hard"? We, as a community, had to invent a term to disparage someone for being good at something because they wanted to be? It's so childish.

Removed you from the quote tag, though, since I know OPs hate getting a billion notifications of being quoted.

Bad Company 2's heli whores, seriously I just quit any match that shows a helicopter circle-strafing the starting base endlessly firing rockets. You cannot do anything about it, the AA weapons are taken out immediately, tracers have an annoying habit to just bounce off the heli, and the rocket is to slow to hit when it's circling at a million miles per hour.
an easy way to take out choppers is just get every mounted machine gun and vehicle gun aimed at it and shooting at it, it only takes a few of those for a lil bit to shoot it down, granted it takes a bit of teamwork but thats what bc2 is all about

halo reach, it's a team deathmatch, big team battle, and one of the kids on our team was a legitiment 7 year old and a troll. one hell of a troll. first, he wouldn't shut-up, then he start bashing everyone on our team and wouldn't actually play the game. so i told that i had gone to his gamercard and selected to avoid this player, and i sumbited a complaint for every reason available, it took a couple minutes.

me and my teamates non verbally (somehow we were all thinking it) were trying to figure out a way to get this kid to team kill us so we could boot him. after the kid finds out, he drops his nice attitude and starts cursing at us. eventually, he got a ghost and was gonna ram one of our active warthogs.....until i got between the two. i saw his accelerating, so i sprinted and low and behold, the boot option appeared.

i started shouting into my mic as loud as i could "AH SNAP, YOU KNOW WHAT YOU JUST DID? YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID SON!?!?! ALPHA....MIKE....FOXTROT.....MOTHER....FUCKER!!!!!!" and i hit X to boot him. someone else with their mic joined me as i got to the foxtrot part. apparently, we were both fans of the A-Team, which was awesome.

after we booted him, our entire team loaded up and kicked ass. we were down 45 to 6 when we booted him halfway into the time limit, and we just barely won with 3 kills ahead and 1 minute before the timer.

and that guy who got the a-team reference? yeah, after i booted the kid, me and him got in a warthog and mowed down those jerkheads while singing the a-team theme song, it was truly epic badass mother fuckery

Modern Warfare 2, every level where a riot shield might be helpful (like the quarry, or the one with the bunker in the centre). You start out with a shield, everyone else loads out with rifles and whatnot. You're a cohesive team, it's great. You draw fire, they clean up. Great.

Then, the others start to notice you're dying less, what with the shield and all. Suddenly, your team consists of one sniper and seven riot shields, and you start getting raped. Douchebags.
i loved the riot shield the only thing mw2 did better than black ops.

i must admit that i am sometimes a douche bag only knifeing in gun game so many lulz

I just encountered a hacker the other day in Team Fortress 2. He was speedhacking, aimbotting, and generally just making the game unplayable.
As for more general stuff, I absolutely hate people who play Battlefield:BC2 and do nothing but fire anti-tank weaponry at people. I might take a shot at someone with an RPG if I'm out of ammo and desperate, but some people make it their only strategy.
Try doing that from a helicopter it's really fun and actually does require some skill

Playing Halo Reach with my friend when this guy rolled in with his friend and started what sounded like griefing everybody in the lobby. So I said "Say that again, I can't tell what you're saying." So he asked me if I could hear his friend and I said no. Then he asked me why so I replied with "I dunno", because I couldn't really be bothered to discuss it anymore. This guy practically made a mountain out of a molehill with "YOU DON'T KNOW?! You're such an idiot, man!!" I just ignored him but my friend came in and told him to shut up or he was going to assassinate him in game. The guy seemed to think this was an impossible take because he was so "PRO" at Halo.

Half way through, my friend actually managed to assassinate him. He did so on my screen, so I saw him do it.

After the game, my friend basically rubbed it in his face (he was joking about it). The guy took it really seriously and was actually angry and upset by this. I got mad and started shouting "IT'S A GAME!" at him but he called me and my friend bastards and he left.

Halo is full of douchebags.

Besides incidents too numerous to count in all the various FPS games out there, I'd say that the most douche thing I've seen was something I actually did.

I was playing Alien Swarm with 2 of my friends, one of them team killed with the flamethrower, and I thought he was going to do it to me too.
So I ran far ahead, and sealed every door I came across behind me. :D

I've met countless asshats online.
I generally forget about them like 5 seconds after I put them on my ignore list.
One case, though, were kinda memorable.
We were in a pug in a heroic Cataclysm dungeon about 2 weeks after the launch.
We were doing a generally good job, except for the hunter, who was a total dickbag.
He refused to CC, broke other people's CC, did terrible DPS, and trash talked everyone when we wiped because of him.
After the group got enough of him and we all told him off, he got really upset and decided to try to wipe us by pulling mobs on us.
So he runs off, starts pulling mobs, feign death... and one mob resists and keep hitting him.
He tries to run away from it, screaming for heals. We just watched.
When he died, he politely asks for a res.
"Res me retards"
That's when our votekick went off cooldown.
It was pretty amusing.

in general, i hate teabaggers. its the gayest thing ever. its not funny, its just dumb and immature. however, most of the time the place i encounter the most douchebags are on left 4 dead (1 or 2). they take the game way to freaking seriously!

we could have ran through 4 of the waves and be winning, then on the last round they decide to kick me because of a stupid mistake. or, i could be at the top of the boards and we are losing, and i make a stupid mistake and they kick me. it pisses me off. kick someone if they are being a douche bag, kick someone if they are trolling/griefing, kick someone if they are afk/arent trying at all; dont kick someone who is genuinely trying and just makes a mistake. its a mofoing pickup game. its not a clan war.
Ironically, Martyrdom was supposed to be the anti-teabag and you see how well that went over hehe...

A healer... In a group... (A specific one, at that) Now, I play WoW, I think I should point that out and with the addition of 3-4 more servers we've gotten a lot nicer battlegroup, Im not going to mention which one (since I cant even remember its name). Now, I was levelling my hunter and was having a fairly nice day... Until this guy comes along... Now, the place around the lady that can split herself into three parts, you can avoid one group by running along the wall. A group was pulled, by the healer, which we then killed after which, and I shit you not, proceeded to say the following "Im sure it was the hunter that pulled. Its always the hunter that pulls"... Now, that doesn't bother me a lot, I'm used to getting blamed for that a few times. It was the fact that the person then proceeded to try and kick me. I had gotten on fairly well with the group before that and the tank was from an earlier one, so I managed to be allowed to stick around. Then, yet another quote, he says the following and I'm quoting directly "WTF you n00bs, why didt you kick the hunterardeted, you fucking idiots", I decide to stand up for myself and the group and tell him that he should blame us for his own fuck-up. Then he says approximately around this... "You tards, im the healer, i run this fucking group!!!!!". Now, we had a shaman and a paladin for a tank, I wouldn't say he ran "this fucking group". We swiftly booted him, got another healer and proceeded, yet my day was ruined.

That was the WoW-part. Let us move on to other online landscapes. League of Legends to be precise.

Now, Im a bit of a strange person when playing LoL, I tend to break off and use odd strategies and yes, it gets a bit on people's nerves every now and then, but they tend to manage fine without me for a bit, since I mainly act distractions and a sort of Utility-like person, when playing Sivir. We're playing a 4v5 match since one disconnected with the words "g2g" at the beginning, so we're losing and behind on levels and getting pushed down the middle lane. I decide to break off and they're still getting pushed down the middle lane as usual. I decide to take on the turrets of the top and bottom lane and manage to clear them all the way into their base. At this moment, I am currently doing this under the frequent yells of "Noob!", "Retard!" and something along the lines of "Fucktwat", from the same person. I tell the people after the enemy has decided to go and kick my ass instead that the two lanes are open and they proceed to go down them and push into their base and... In layman's terms "Wreck their shit". Now the twat of the day decided to go off and kill monsters in the forest while we were wrecking their place. Skip ahead five minutes, we've won the match and now master twat decides to be a huge douchebag and yell to the opposing team in the lobby "SHAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!" And no, Im not exagerating... Im not against gloating and celebrating yourself, but for the love of god, do it with dignity and respect, since at the beginning we were actually the losing team and now you're just verbally tea-bagging them.

Doing the airport mission on the hardest difficulty on L4D, we did pretty damn well and made it.. then when we got on the plane, just as the screen was about to fade out.. this guy shoots me in the head and I fall down, which counts as not completing it.

Difference between spawn-camping and camping: you give the other side a chance to use their brains and skill to do something.
From Wikipedia:

"In video gaming, Camping is a tactic in which a player will obtain a strategic position anywhere on the map and wait for players to arrive and be killed, or waiting for useful objects to appear in an area rather than actively seeking them out."

I do believe the spawning counts as them 'arriving'

I generally can't stand the squealing of an 11 year old over a low quality microphone.

And then there are those who just have it on all the time...scccrtcherrrcgachscrach static.

I don't mind campers if they're sniping. What I don't like is when someone hides in a room and waits all round for someone to enter. There are mines for that.

Actually, the worst douchebags of all are spawn campers that bring multiple vehicles into the enemy home base in bfbc2.

Spawn camping is fine in moderation. But coming in with 5 tanks, stealing enemy vehicles, and blowing up whatever's left so the other team doesn't have a chance just pisses me off.

Problem is that all vehicles within our reach are the first priority of the heli, all mounted weapons, tanks, jeeps, apcs etc. are destroyed immediately. Our tactics usually involve slinking out on foot and taking other bases so we can bypass the heli at our spawn point and then hopefully regroup and take it down.

Not really a Douche Bag as much as he was a nuisance. I was playing some of the Red Dead co-op missions with some random dudes and as soon as one of the 2 other players got shot, he started crying! I'm dead serious, he was crying. I decided to send him a PM saying "how old r u" at which point, he replied "5", so I, being the mature adult that I am, sent him another PM saying, "srsly? then shut up and stop playin M rated games", "wa?", "learn 2 read", "cai". It probably was made weirder from the fact that it was 4am... (I had to be at work by 5 anyway)
