Thanks jerk off i wasn't posting it as a question it would be like me saying why don't you F%%% off. Its not a question so much as a suggestion (yes this if for you nilcypher why don't you contribute instead of acting like a two year old correcting everyone, this thread is for gamers who want to have a good time and contribute not losers who insult people.
Ouch! this will end badly
must...resist...banhammer picture...

I would say XIII, but the only problem is the sequel never came! It just never fucking came! *sobs*
I particularily enjoyed the ending to Turok Evolution becuase
1 it was the ending, that level of hell was over, not unto the 4th!
2 Buckner got eaten
3 it was laughably bad, and after actually beating that game I needed a good pick-me-up
4 no more flying sequences

The ending to portal was amazing becuase of the credits "maybe black mesa, that was a joke, ha-ha fat chance".
and I loved the ending to Sims 2...thats a joke...don't take that seriously.

Final Fantasy X had a very good ending. Call of Duty 4 does rival FFX because of the song at the end, but more importantly, the bonus mission.

Halo 3. Yeah, I know. It's not what any of the cool alternative kids would say, but whatever. I liked it.

The broken sword games tend to have good endings along with any of the half life endings (thats including the episodes). Dead rising was also pretty good and the halo 3 ending was good. The best for me would have to be FFVII though

Mega Man 7.

[spoilers]After finally beating the really hard final Dr. Wily fight, Mega Man finally decides to KILL the bastard, which is especially satisfying considering how friggin' hard he was to beat. Too bad Wily manages to get away (again...), in order for the subpar Mega Man 8 to exist.[/spoilers]

Fallout, fallout 2, and fallout tactics. Yeah, I'm a fanboy. Stronghold had a lovely ending. Return to krondor, while the ending was almost the worst part of the game, it too was awesome. Portal as mentioned. Deus Ex was great. Bloodlines ending rocks, it still has me laughing, some of them. Starcraft had a lovely ending as well. The first Neverwinter nights, without expansions. Ghost recon and outlaws... Diablo 1, that one was really, really good. Warcraft 2. Tiberian sun and Firestorm both did. Impossible creatures. Alien versus predator 2.

Yeah... I play too many games... I usually don't considers endings good as well, so I may very well have played five games for each one of these, if not more... *Sigh* I should do something better with my life...

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Loved the ending because it had a nice twist, it explained that what you were playing was the prince telling the story to Farah, because it had already happened to him. Which explained the voiceover, where he would say things like, "no, no, no - that's not what happened", as if he lost track of the events for a moment.

No, actually, it's not.
After about eight years of grammar lessons and two English high school courses, I have to say, as TheIceFace stated, by using "why", it is definitely a question.
There are some cases where someone uses a sentence like "What the hell!" as an exclamation rather than a question, but really it might go either way.

Freespace 2 [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qiWAgQeAVY]
The music is just so ominous, and in the end, the Shivans don't really lose, they choose to end things of their own accord, with little apparent thought for their own ships that get caught up in the supernova.

Nox Conjuror ending [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTFvQDh7leA]

Nox Warrior ending [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFZW6sudOvc&NR=1]

Nox Wizard ending [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZT95lmhjEw&NR=1]

Very cheesy yes, but I'm rather fond of Nox, of these endings I prefer the Warrior one, after all, Jack get's to go home at the end hehe.

I like that idea billy-j!

You know, I kind of liked the ending to The World Ends With You, it was a bit weird, but had an odd likable feeling, that's just me though.
The thing is still filled with plot holes by the time you finish it. Thankfully, there's the post-story unlockable reports, which retell everything from Hanekoma's point of view. The very last report is definitely worth working for alright.

As for my fav ending... I'm going to be quite a nostalgic bum here: Wolfenstein 3D.
I mean, you killed Hitler, and when you see B.J. run out into those green fields... pure bliss.

Amen.
I agree!

I thought it was a great ending. Since the conflict is over there's no need for master chief, who was "born" for the conflict in the first game. He doesn't belong in a time of peace, and is put to rest with the only person he could have a relationship with, Cortana, guarding over his body, drifting through the endless space, ready to be revived if ever called upon. Not that I think it will ever happen, since he's floating around in space, but he's still a sort of "guardian" over humanity or something.

It reminds me of a "myth" here in my country. It is said that if we're ever invaded, the statue of a great king located under one of the castles, will waken and defend the country against the invaders. Never gonna happen, but pretty cool myth anyway.

Oh yeah, totally forgot Freespace 2 and Mass Effect.

I especially like the "darker" Mass Effect Ending. While still being a happy end of sorts, the "bad" elements were nicely implemented/forshadowed (Will all the fears of the alien races against humanity become truth?) and it did not disappoint you like other "darker" endings.

EDIT: Oh and yes, totally agree about Halo 3 (although i find the Halo Series merely "okay" when it comes to Singleplayer), although the seemingly minimalistic Epilogue (not the one after the Credits, the one with MC and Cortana) was an extreme contrast to the "tough guy saves world by blowing stuff up"-Story beforehand (minus the Arbiter Arc in Halo 2)
