News has come up that ESV might be coming out in 2010.

And that it might take place in Skyrim!

ROCK ON! F*CKING VIKINGS! YEAH!

I like Skyrim.

In late October 2008, shortly after the release of Fallout 3, Bethesda's Publishing Executive, Paul Oughton, indicated that the series' fifth installment could be released in 2010.[3] Zenimax, the owner of Bethesda Softworks, had trademarked the name "Skyrim" in 2006,[4] but its relation to the fifth installment of the series is uncertain.

Magic/combat wasn't fun? since when?

and I want photographic evidence of the latter.

I remember making a thread like this. Back in the good old days. Sigh.

But, I hope for the Boat Adventure mentioned on the first page which managed to catch my interest, or for Elseweyr. I also hope to be given more good/evil choices, and not just leaving it up to the modding community. Also, more diverse magic pl0x. Sure, we can do fire, frost and lightning, and the rest is just the equivalent of buffs, with invisibility and the ability to become Aqua-Man, whoopty-doo. I want actual necromancy, tornadoes, time control, being able to conjure hundreds of illusion creatures to distract the enemy!

And more voice-actors would be cool.

The magics needed more variety.
"Throw ball of fire/electricity/death" gets boring. The combat otherwise was okay.
You could have just said "PIX OR IT DIDN HAPPN"
idk, its fun when you make the spells right...I have this retarded spell that does 3 pts frost damage for 25 seconds on touch and summons a frost atronach for 25 seconds and its pretty funny to summon a creature with a touch spell.

A better levelling system please. And it'd be amazing if they just gave us the whole of Tamriel to explore with quests etc. The main quest would be neat if it didn't start off so obvious as Oblivion. Something simple that escalates would be nice, instead of watching everything go to shit within the first hour.

I'd love it to have some type of VATs system where you pause the game and strategicaly(?) hack of limbs with a giant claymore.

ranged magic and archery were pretty worthless in Oblivion.
Ranged magic is kickass if your character is built around magic...Archery on the other hand...It's easy to find a good bow, but the hard part is finding good arrows, like the arrows that are your current leveled loot, you only get a few of them whenever you find them...otherwise, you end up shooting only iron/steel arrows even at level fucking 20.
The only ranged magic spells I ever used were the crazy explosive ones I made myself. That is a cool option that they have to expand on.
I never finished that game, it might be time to pick that up again.

Things to do better in V:
More voice actors
Better level-ing system. The FO3 seemed to work pretty well (saving areas where you have been to your then-level)
Better main quest - it got boring pretty fast, and the oblivion gates were hell (hurr)
More diverse actors and comments

One main thing that Fallout 3 and Oblivion were missing was the ability to permanently set your own map markings and be able to quick travel to them.

Are you saying you wouldn't appreciate if they made an Oblivion clone with online capabilities? I'd loose my life in that game!

I actually liked the leveling system in Oblivion. It was hard to find a good setup for your major stats to match your playing style, but once I did I leveled pretty quickly and soon figured out how to power-level to have my core stats skyrocket with each level.

But you're right, Oblivion gates did suck. That's why I did every quest in the entire game bofore I visited Kvatch. It was several months until the people of Cyrodill got their new emporer =P

I.E.: Mark/Recall from Morrowind? Yeah I missed that too, but I thought that was to make sure people didn't abuse it by Marking inside the richest store in the game then recalling late at night to loot the crap out of it (or other game-breaking uses)

But I don't see why they didn't introduce it with severe limitations rather than taking it out altogether. Why not "It can only be used when not in combat and only outdoors/in towns (but not houses)"

I definitely did this too. More voice actors, for sure, work on the skins for all characters, they all looked old and ugly. I really liked the seagoing idea, and I have always wanted to be a pirate.

I would like a futuristic one but since Fallout has covered that well i don't know, as long its fun and kills the hours i'm happy
Well, that would be kinda hard, because each sequel has yet been set in a different region, but mostly in the same time period (nothing other than medieval stuff). Though Fallout has been a good step forward in another direction. I'd love to see another game with the same principle as TES, but with another context. Like.. something to do with superheroes

Oblivion had basically every environment except deserts, which Fallot 3 generously provided.
I know Oblivion had so many different enviroments, like generic English countryside, slightly marshy English countryside and the snowy bit around Bruma. So that's a total of three noticably different enviroments in Oblivion. As opposed to Morrowinds ten distinct geographical areas.
Plains? Check
Mountainous terrain? Check
Hills? Check
Light Forests? Check
Dense Forests? Check
Snow? Check
Marshes & Swamps? Check
Deserts? Fallout 3
Dive Rock? Adoring Fan

You just need to look a little harder to notice the difference in terrain.
First of all, when you walked around in Morrowind, you actually saw the difference in terrain with each new area. One moment you're in a slightly forested area, the next one you're in a swamp (and I mean swamp, it actually looked like a swamp), the next you're in the middle of a volcano, and then the next you're in some rocky desolate place, etc.
Oblivion doesn't has that. No matter how much you traverse, every place still seems the same. And the lasting impression is exactly like that too. Also, all the dungeons look mostly the same. But it's still fun to play. Though I still prefer Morrowind.

Voice Actors? Hell no. It will be so much better with NO voice actors, otherwise we'll be into a 3-4 disk game, just so you can have some pwetty audio.
Better leveling- Hell yeah. We need a "You're gonna get your ass handed to you if you go here now" area.
Better Main Quest- People complained that Morrowind was too long-winded and got bored, so they reduced it. Now people ***** because it's too short.
More diverse actors and comments- Scripting *shrug* it all gets better.

Spot the difference: MMORPG. Online Capabilities.

No? The difference is one is full of idiots without typing capabilities, the other is a quick round or 4 with your mates. I personally WOULD appreciate online stuff in TES:V, but I would limit it to 8-16 players, you only play with your mates (no randoms. Friends of friends are ok though, providing the friend is in game).
