"dude, why are you so trigger happy?" Philip says turning to Gun-Nurd
"i figured the dragon was gonna help us, and when it appears you pop a cap in it's ass!"
"and for that stroke of intelligence you deserve a round of applause" Philip claps sarcastically.

Why is he so Trigger happy? Please don't kill me

<spoiler=Multi>He isn't. You just don't have his entire 1500 year history laid out in front of you yet. And you probably won't. Because 1500 years full of ninja action is something even Dr. McNinja would fear to recount.

He's also a FREAKING NINJA MONKEY. You have to give him some leeway. Ninjas are inherently awesome.

I also kind of designed him that way. If you want to see one of my decent characters, go here: http://secondconflict.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=approved&action=display&thread=23 and look at the second post.

Sometimes I just want to kill things in interesting ways. So I create a ridiculous character like Ragnorak. Besides, this whole thing is over-the-top, why are you complaining?

I complain, because your character is Gary Stu. Look it up if dont know what that means and why thats a bad thing.
Unless your definition of Gary Stu is different from that of TVTropes, I know what a Gary Stu is. I also know why it is a bad thing...if you're writing a serious story or RPG. Seeing as this is not a serious RP where basically anything goes, I fail to see why having an uber-powerful character that ascribes to stereotypes is a bad thing.

Now, in our little tiff there, I will admit to have gotten a little testy and pushed it a little too far. However, it is a legitimate use of his power. I planned to introduce the party to his family at some point and his parents are, well, his parents, considerably more skilled at ninja-ing than he is (Of course, they all ascribe to the Ryu Hayabusa school of ninjutsu, AKA flip the fuck out and kill everything) and his brother is an absolute tech whiz who, incidentally, is a prodigy pilot (...I will admit to having taken some influence from the creator of Dr. McNinja.). There is no reason for him not to have a jungle base that is his family's home where he keeps the planet-defending weapons. He's older than anyone on the team and still considered young by his people. He has a 1500 year-long history of adventures and encounters. He has an over-reaching quest that I have hinted at several times. I don't see him as a Gary Stu, but that may be a skewed vision given that I can see his entire history. He is an established character in my mind. On my word as a man, I have not altered that history in any way to aid him.

You don't get it. Your character is un-killable, maybe even un-hurtable!!! How can he possibly be interesting!?
<spoiler=Multi>He is not un-killable. Far from it! There are many people who could kill him, several of them are in the room with him at the moment. Just don't expect to be able to kill him by throwing hordes of unskilled warriors at him or shooting wildly at him. He is a martial artist, a practitioner of "Do Ninjutsu" (As opposed to "Sei Ninjutsu": Do martial artists rely on rage and anger to release their strength, Sei martial artists rely on inner peace. Think of it as the Dark and Light sides of the Force, with the notable exception that Do practitioners ("Dark side") are not necessarily evil and Sei practitioners ("Light side") are not necessarily good.). He could be easily defeated by another martial artist.

He won't die unless I get really bored with this, but, if it will assuage your injured sense of character balance, I'll have him seriously injured in the next fight. But it'll be done by someone else from his past, someone I intended to introduce to y'all soon anyway.

Now I'm done. We just pretty much 'jacked the thread with a discussion on the appropriateness of my character for half a page.

"PREPARE TO BE DEFEATED, VILE BEAST OF THE DEPTHS!" Ram cried, jumping on a the coffee table to face the dragon.

The mighty beast turned, ready to blast the brave goat away...
"BOW BEFORE MY HELLISH FLAMES, DIRTY MAGGOT OF...Thundar? Holy crap, is that you?!"
"Terrance? Oh my god, it really is you! You damn worm, how the hell you been?" Ram said, going up to the dragon with a wide grin.

"D'aww, you know. Living life, protecting caves, killing adventures, etc. How you been?"
"Oh, nothing much, nothing much. Just Thor's guide to a group of Heroes set to save the world."
"Oh, sweet. You got that God's Spirit Guide gig you always wanted, eh?" Terrance said, now making himself comfortable on Ragnorak's floor.

"Yeah, I did. Not what I was hoping, though. You get cool powers and all, but some of the things he makes me do..." Ram finished with a mutter, indicating the band of people/animals/things behind him.

"Oh, btw, here's my group of misguided heroes of the world. Guys, this is Terrance, my old roommate from college." Ram said, presenting the giant tower of death.
"Sup."

"Dude! Seriously!" philip snatches the rocket launcher away from Gun-Nurd before he could blast the dragon to bits
"goddammit man what do have against dragons?! and where are you do get all these guns from?!?"
Philip turns away from Gun-Nurd and turns to Terrance
"sup terrance? the name's philip." philip extends his mutated, armored hand for a handshake.

"Sup, Phillip." Terrance said, shaking the mutant's hand.

"Oh, I know Terrance from Mythos College." Ram said, replying to Lazor's question. "We used to bunk together at the ole' dorms together. Eh, you remember ole Professor Midas, Ter?"
"Oh god yes. I believe your thinking bout the time you took his gloves off when he went to the bathroom?"
Ram burst into hysterical laughter. "Oh, oh, yeah. Guy really had some "golden showers" after that, eh?"
The two animals went into a fit of laughter, rolling on the floor with glee.

"y'know what's strange terry?" philip asks the dragon
"i dunno what?" the dragon replies getting up
"you went to college, and yet the best job you could find was being someone's pet? why didn't you become something more legendary, like one of those cool looking Chinese dragons?"
