everyone knows its all about Reagan. He scared the crap out of everyone, including us AND it was the best time of our economy because he made it stable by cutting out wasteful government spending AND minimized government power, unlike obama who wants to spend craploads of government and taxpayer money and wants the government to have total control like in V for Vendetta. EAT IT you liberals!
Actually Reagan spent significantly more than any president before him, more than doubling Carter's highest budget by 1989. Additionally, he not only did not decrease government power, but increased it by creating a whole new department (Department of Education). More importantly, his economic plans were tried before, by Harding, Coolidge and Hoover. They got us into the Great Depression if you do not recall. Lastly, Reagan decided not to act for three years about a little thing called A.I.D.S. and did not use any of his bloated budget to increase spending for research that could have extended millions of lives and let A.I.D.S. get to the point of being an epidemic in the United States. So I think I can say that, no, it is not all about Reagan. Also, he appointed one of the dumbest Supreme Court justices in my opinion (Scalia).

I think my personal favorite would by FDR. Partially because of the whole World War II thing, but partially because he was the first president to realize that we do not have to live by the intent behind the Constitution because the framers had no idea what to expect. FDR was the first to really expand government to help people and change it in a significant way while staying inside the confines of the Constitution.
