The stroy: Six great empires once stood tall and ruled over all the known world of Iben. They flourished with their grand steam driven economies. Air barges hauled their loads to the cities carved into the mountains and the air fleets guarded the skies from the only know threat, sky pirates. Steam tractors tilled the open lands below to feed the populaces of each nation. A golden age of steam began with the advent of the "Steam Men", mechanical servitors gifted to man by the gods. All know these machines are guided by spirits and to anger them is ill advised, when they complete a task thank them as they are happy to serve. They could preform a myriad of household chores and other tasks but heavy manuel labour was beyond their intended design and to tamper with the schematics and bind a spirit to a new machine body which say could mine ore would corrupt it and sent it to insanity. (Probably killing everyone in the room). It is a crime to tamper with "Heaven Schematics" and should you survive and are caught you will be executed. It is perfectly legal to build your own servitor by the schematics and bring it to your local "Forge" to have a spirit bound to it for a cost.

The golden age was bound together by the "Rose Wheel" a six piece set of rose tinted glass formed to the shape of a cog wheel adorned with the symbol of each nation for their own elemental affinity. (Earth, wind, fire, water, light and metal). These pieces were not gifted to man as a set, from what is understood, far into the past the "Rose Wheel" fell from heaven to earth due to an unknown calamity. It shattered into the six pieces when it landed on the peak called "Maritikaa" and cast itself into six different directions. Over many thousands of years the pieces were discovered. The ones to do so went on to found the great empires of the known world. When the last piece was found and the empire in league with the others did the gods gift man with the "Steam Men" and herald the golden age.

The age lasted over half a millennia. Arts, technology, magic and culture flourished. And the peace held.

What is told by the story is that the gate between the underworld and the realm of Iben was assaulted by the Dark forces of Khazhanbraagh the Defiler. The peace and order of Iben needed to be balanced so he preformed his duty to bring chaos. The Gods, protective of the seeds they'd sown and obnoxious of their power went to hold the gate and a titanic battle was fought. On the 3rd day Khazhanbraagh grew uneasy that he would be able to break through the gate and be able to rebalance the world, in not doing so would destroy the fabric of darkness forever. So he himself walked to the battlefield with a mighty hammer to bash the gates open. When the gods were informed he came to give the final blow they rushed to take the field themselves. When they arrived The Defiler was already upon the gates, they crumpled at the blows. And the gods charged to drive him back. His plan was no not break through though, but let his daughter slip past as the gate baulked and he served as a distraction. The gods drove The defiler back and he and his forces retreated, his own blood to complete the deed in his stead.

This daughter of evil, Kith, corrupted a lord of the fire affinity Empire of Ashhelm. This lord whos name is not known and subsequently has been called the betrayer murdered the king and all the other lords of Ashhelm. He took the kings piece of the "Rose Wheel" from his neck and brought it to Kith. She crushed it in her hand and along with it the Empire of Ashhelm. With this act she had pushed the first domino over. The country descended into chaos and burned for 30 years. A republic burst from the ashes, Glorinst. This new nation grew itself around a dark gift granted to it by Kith's father, the internal combustion engine. The peoples built up it's nation from the ruins into a military superpower and as such struck out against one empire after another. Soon after the swift fall of two other nations did the rest band together to fight against the aggressive republic. The war bogged down inside the boarders of Uleth, Thund - Akrieg Empires. Hipereon is now the last free nation standing, but is under terror bombings.

Chaos threatens to overtake the known world. Heroes must answer heavens call. May the balance be righted.

Opening story: Peace still holds in Lightwatch. The streets still bustle with business but the constant talk is of the war. Many refugees from the neighboring nations have taken up refuge in the city. The lowest districts are close to bursting with these lost souls, dissent is ripe for Chaos to reap.

Moving on now from the story.

This is a swirling pot of steampunk, religion and magic with light and dark vying for power and fought in a mix between medieval, classical, WW1 ground and naval warfare and WW2 air warfare. Air warfare rages in the sky between Airships armed with cannon and crew and steam fighters armed with bladed wings and a tail sniper or magician against similarly armed fighter planes and bombers.

Naval warfare is just like WW1 the only difference here is one side is powered by coal and steam and the other by diesel engines and oil.

Ground warfare is by far the most variable. Though theres vehicles, mechanized warfare has not been invented yet with the exception of the Barro-cycle and Castor War Bike, which is used akin to cavalry. The common foot soldiers though are armed with swords, lances, axes, bows, flintlock pistols and early muskets. They fight everywhere from open plains gridded with trenches to urban combat.

All areas often have magicians and healers. There are 3 types of magic: Light, Dark, and Elemental. The first two are opposites but work in the same ways, mainly hurling a bolt of their respective energies at a foe. They are also controlled by faith, those who worship the gods may use light and healing spells. And those who let the darkness into them may use dark magics at a price. Light magic does have a subset of healing, but those who can use it are unable to attack with light magic. Elemental magic is just that, the elements. Tossing fireballs, lightning, and ice to the target.
All magic is used with spell tomms, which need to be read and the spell said aloud to work. An interruption will cause the spell to fail, backfire or worse.
Do note though you can have dark magics and still be on the side of 'good'. You'd have a thirst for knowledge not power.
Magical strength is scaled: E,D,C,B,A,S,SS classes. If you chose to be a magician the highest I'll allow is a C at the start. I'll be adding in spells and such latter.
It is also limited in how many spells you can cast by fatigue. You draw on your own physical endurance for spells.
Spells and tomms. From left to right they read in rank of magic power.
Light
Lighting, Shine, Divine, Purge, Aura, Valaura, Aureola.

Dark spells
Flux, Fenrir, Eclipse, Luna, Gespenst, Ruin, Apocalypse.

Elemental
Fire, Iceceel, Thundra, Fira, Torrent, Arcthunder, Forblaze

Some insight to the tech and looks of this world.

I'm quite interested as well. Could you further explain the air combat? I'm thinking of submiting one of those tail snipers but I'd like to know more.

Colour me interested. One question though, is there any chance of being able to use metallic cartridge black powder weapons? (ie repeater rifles and such)

Well Airships work like flying ships, bombing and shelling enemies on the ground, but are rather ineffective against other targets in the air.

Fighter planes are for recon and dogfighting, they're single engine and prop driven. Since weaponry hasn't advanced past muzzle and breach loaded guns it wouldn't be feasible to put a cannon on a plane. So for fighters, instead of chasing each other with guns, they're literally ramming and charging each other (Not quite head on). The planes are highly reinforced and the wings front edge are bladed. Some fighters are two seaters with a tail sniper or a magician (Though very rare). SO a tail sniper is a highly trained marksman whos given the best gun available whos job it is to kill an enemy pilot attempting to ram the plane from behind, or disable the plane in another way.

The entire point for these fighters is to protect, depending on side, either airships or bombers. The bombers are the main threat to an airship, with a low rate of fire and high speed and maneuverability of the enemy they can't adequately defend themselves. And the bombers need protection from fighters which are even faster / maneuverable. This is why both sides field fighters, something needs protection and it's the fighters job to do it.

So for you, you sit in the back of a plane, typically wait until someone is on your pilots arse, and attempt to kill or disable the enemy before he gets you. This would certainly keep you away from everyone but even on the ground you'd be a deadly foe. You can still be one if you'd want, but don't expect to be up up and away for much.

Flintlock pistols and muskets only. Shells have only been developed for naval and air artillery. It just hasn't been miniaturized for self weaponry. Some muskets could have a rifled barrel instead of a smoothbore and use a miniball. Which is a bullet shaped piece of lead. But would still be muzzle loaded. So I've decided.

Name: Vincent Abaddon

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Nationality: Sky Plain Mercenary

Faith: Dark

Magic: Darkness magic user.

Abilities / Talents: Vincent is skilled in many different military abilities, such as sharpening a blade, reloading a gun, surviving in the wild, and forging a blade. Vincent is a skilled fighter, matching some of the other best sky pirate Captains. Vincent is skilled in fighting with either one, or two swords, and he is ambidextrous. Another two abilities of Vincent's are he knows how to fly a ship, and how to ride a bike.

Weapons: Vincent has two swords that he ties to either side of his waist. Both blades look different, and both have been given names. Judgment and Exile. Exile is a slight bit longer than Judgment, and Vincent has always favored Exile as his first weapon.

Judgement

Exile

Armor: Vincent wears a dark black suit of armor that closes over his head when activated, leaving nothing but a bright red visor for Vincent to see out of. A dark black cloak covers most of the armor unless it is cut away or thrown aside, allowing for Vincent to wear his armor nearly everywhere.

Equipment: Vincent has his two swords, his armor, basic survival gear, and a set of goggles he uses aboard the deck of his ship. Vincent owns The Bloody Mary, a small ship made for only one person, but outfitted with the best guns and armor available to a sky pirate, which is anything Vincent finds and steals.

Appearance: Vincent has dark black hair that falls down just below his eyes, and he is usually seen wearing a dark black cloak that is worn over his set of armor. The armor itself isn't very bulky, but it protects from most small attacks. Vincent wears around his neck, a sinister looking cross, which he has never given reason for.

Personality: Despite being a pirate, Vincent isn't evil. Vincent takes only what he needs to survive, and preys on those who have more than enough to give to him. Vincent is a kind and caring individual who looks after those whom he deems a friend.

Bio:

Vincent was born into the Republic, in Uleth. Vincent hated his life there, he hated every bit of it, he never understood the reason for war or why everyone around him was so excited to join up with the army and go fight the Empire. Vincent was born into a relatively wealthy family, with two brothers and one sister. Neither his mother nor father really ever gave any of their children much attention, devoting much of their time to the war effort, and leaving Vincent and his older brother to take care of his sister and younger brother. Vincent took care of his sister, while his younger brother was left in the care of his older brother.

A year passed before Vincent was sent away to a private boarding school, where he was to be taught how to aid as much as he could in the war effort. It wasn't necessary that he go to a boarding school, as most schools in the Republic already taught such skills in normal school, yet his parents forced him anyway. This school not only taught him how to be useful in combat, but how to fly a ship and ride a bike as well, since they were under the assumption that Vincent would turn out as a Captain of a Republic cruiser. Vincent was away at school for a few years, from the age of 12 until he was 17. Vincent let the academy to a very different home.

Vincent returned to the Abaddon household, only to learn that his brothers had both joined up with the Republic army, yet his sister was still at the house, cleaning and making sure the house was well kept for Vincent's return. Vincent was glad that his sister hadn't signed up with the military, yet he was concerned for his brothers as well. Vincent was eventually forced into joining the Republic armada, serving his time on an air-ship by the name of Destiny's Calling. During his time of service Vincent was in an enormous battle that was the cause of an entire cities obliteration. Vincent was fed up at that point, he wanted to leave, and he just needed an excuse to do so. That excuse came to him in the dead of night one cold summer's eve. Destiny's Calling was attacked, and boarded by a band of Dark Magic pirates. The crew was decimated, leaving only a handful alive in the end, Vincent included. Vincent was offered the chance to join the pirate crew in order to make up for the losses they had sustained and the promise he showed. Vincent accepted, and left his other crew members to die, something some might call cowardly, but an act Vincent saw as necessary to return to his family and inform his sister of his decision.

Months after joining up with the crew, Vincent was able to cast and use Dark Magic effectively, the black cross he wore around his neck a symbol of his power. Vincent decided it was time to leave the ship, but not before he caught a glimpse of the pirate captain's bright emerald sword. Vincent challenged the captain to a dual, defeating him without much difficulty and claiming the sword for himself. Vincent then left the crew to fight among themselves over who would succeed for the captain's place, and sailed home only to find it wasn't his sister waiting for him, it was his eldest brother, clutching his dead brother's corpse in one hand, and the families sword Judgment in the other.

Vincent was enraged, and launched himself at his brother, who easily disarmed Vincent and sent him sprawling to the ground with the broken half of a blade clutched tightly in his hand. Vincent's brother told him to seek him out when he had become more powerful and was ready to face him again, and with that Vincent was alone in his families home, the family sword sticking up from the ground where his brother had thrown it seconds before. Vincent took up his families sword and left, taking a smaller ship from his families garage and fleeing the city.

Vincent took up a role as a lone Sky Pirate, hunting down both Republic and Empire ships alike and building up his own ship for the time when he takes on a crew and hunts after his brother with his newly forged blade Exile, forged in the funeral fire of his brother's pyre.

My apologies if the Bio seemed a bit rushed. It isn't my best work, but I'll work on it again tomorrow. Let me know if anything needs changing.

The Uleth Empire has only recently come under partial occupation by the republic. Which would lead to be assumed just a year or so. So the first bit of your bio doesn't work and will need to be re-writen. I've only named 4 of the 6 countries but will be making a post about them soon.

Also you say you can match some of the best Sky Pirate captains in swordsmanship. Your twenty years old. Sky Pirates are just like sea pirates, with the exception of the one noticeable difference. A Captain is voted to be by the crew, they'd be unlikely to be young and will probably be the most experienced of the ship (Probably decades of piracy under his belt). And while they're not very disciplined they'd surely be quite skilled in fighting. Unlikely could a 20 year old with little real experience be able to best these veterans. Now this is just all for baulk, not that you ever have fought a captain. But your in no way a master at that age.

Also my last post to Theblue, I talked about air combat. "The entire point for these fighters is to protect, depending on side, either airships or bombers". The republic has no airships of their own.

Spelling mistakes and some grammar aside fix and adjust to these and I'll see you at the final weigh in.

I have to jump in here with the darn pirate problems, because I bloody love pirates.

Age does matter, but if you've trained with a sword properly, experience won't be as effective as a good tutor. That said, a good education with no experience is as useful as a piece of thin string, but he has both.

Being voted into a captain is a popular vote - The most experienced pirates don't get elected - The person with the biggest balls get elected. Captain is a fucking hard job, and a pirate ship can change its captain rather frequently if the crew isn't satisfied with the captain's abilities. You shouldn't disrespect younglings, they have the stamina and ambition to get to places.

Name: Prince Xavier Marcello Ibanez III, Duke of Redcrest, Loyal Soldier of the Empire of Ashhelm (or Marc to most people)

Age: 35

Gender: Male

Nationality: Glorinst (He refers to himself as Ashhelmi, currently residing in Hipereon)

Faith: Non Follower

Magic: N/A

Abilities /Talents: A fair shot with his guns and an expert with sabre his other talents include a heightened athleticism, and fast, nimble hands. These allow him to twist and dodge (even with his armour) in a fight reducing the risk to his own well being, and reload his guns/deftly use his sabre making him a worrisome opponent.

Weapons: A pair of pistols worn in a bandolier across his left chest, a cavalry sabre slung off his left hip, and a coach gun (w/bayonet) that he keeps either across his back, or under his coat on his right side.

Armour/Clothing: His usual attire consist of a simple steel breastplate over a dark blue tunic, brown leather gloves, black trousers, and black cavalry boots. As an outer shell he has a black spiked helm with his families crest on it, and a dark blue great coat.

Equipment: A pouch filled with premade paper cartridges for his guns (they are all the same bore), and spare flints. In his coat he keeps matches, a pipe, and a small pouch of loose tobacco.

Appearance: Marc is a plain looking man with pale green eyes, and long red hair that he keeps in a short pony tail. He's just shy of six foot with a firm medium build, a testament to his fitness and training.

Personality: Generally Marc is a friendly and personable fellow, always with a laugh or smile, and willing to help with whatever need to be done. The only major exception to this is if he is fighting Republic forces. Then he becomes a ruthless bastard, asking no quarter, and offering none.

Bio: Marc's family was a lesser noble house in Ashhelm prior to the King's betrayal. After his father was killed in the uprising, his father's Master-At-Arms managed to gather his immediate family and smuggle them to freedom. Arriving in the Empire of Hipereon with little money and whatever they could pack on short notice, House Ibanez was essentially destitute.

Acting quickly, and with a bit of luck, Marc's mother took what little capital they had and used it transform House Ibanez from a lesser noble house to a reputable merchant house, allowing Marc to grow up in relative comfort. Having inherited his father?s title, and with much of House Ibanez escaping, Marc was raised as a Prince-in-exile as was fitting. Aside from his academic studies, he was also taught the way of war by his Master-At-Arms, and instilled with a deep hatred of those who betrayed their King.

With the rise of the Republic, and its assault on its neighbours, Marc turned the resources of House Ibanez against it. In the intervening years Ibanez has become a major trade faction making it very powerful and quite wealthy. So when Glorinst brought war to Uleth, and Thund?Akrieg, he put his houses weight behind the drive to supply those who where resisting, contributing to the halt of Glorinst's advance. Now with his adoptive home under attack, Marc has turned the affairs of the family over to his advisors, and is taking up arms to fight the enemy.

No. Technology isn't that advanced.

Athol said:
Rejected. For two reasons. One Ashhelm no longer exists. It was the first empire to be shattered. Glorinst is now the ruling county of their former land and unless you're going to be a Sky Pirate, (Who can be from any nation). You need to be one of the 3 nations in the character sheet.

Hmmmmm, how about a normal ground sniper, fighting in the trenches. Yes that sounds fun, let's make a sheet.
Name: Marcus Durand of Thurmond
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Nationality: Thund - Akrieg
Faith: Atheist
Magic: N/A
Abilities / Talents: Exceptional marksman, good at repairing and maintaining guns, innovative.
Weapons: Rifle bore musket w/ telescopic sights, flintlock pistol, steel dagger.
Armor: Steel breast plate, plain steel helm, full body suit of camouflage cloth.
Equipment: 30 shots worth of miniballs, powdered, and wading; brushes and other tools for cleaning his guns.
Appearance: 5'10", jet black hair, brown eyes, light skin, lean but muscular.
Personality: Being so young, Marcus can be rather arrogant, often claiming that he's the greatest sharpshooter in the world. But beneath the arrogance is a kind and friendly soul with a fierce commitment to duty. Additionally, he is a tinkerer by nature and is fascinated by the workings of machinery.
Bio: Marcus was born to the Durand family in the town of Thurmond. The town lay near the border between Thund-Akrieg and what would become the Republic. His father was a popular gunsmith in the area, and as a result Marcus and his sister learned how to handle a gun from an early age. Marcus found that he excelled at long distance shooting and so often accompanied his father on hunting trips. Watching his father work always fascinated Marcus; he always loved seeing machinery work, trying to figure out the inner workings of each devise. When he came of age, Marcus happily became his fathers apprentice.
But his world was shattered when the Republic invaded. Thurmond, being a border town, was quickly overrun by the Republics relentless soldiers. Marcus' father was killed in the massacre as his family hid in their house. As Marcus was setting aside a space in the attic to for he and his remaining family hide in, a group of Republic troops burst through their doors. Hidden away, Marcus had no choice but to listen as the soldiers raped and killed his mother and sister. The soldiers quickly moved on, and Marcus came out of hiding to see his friends and family dead and his home town burning. Determined to avenge his family, Marcus fled to the country's capital, were he immediately enlisted in the army. Upon discovering Marcus' remarkable skill with a gun, the army issued him a scoped rifle bore musket and sent him to the front lines as a sniper. Although Marcus would rather be tinkering with machines and studying engineering, he understands the need for his skills and is dead set on pushing the Republic back, if only to put his aching heart at ease.

Name: "Crazy Ivan" Ivan Drago
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Nationality: Sky Pirate Mercenary
Faith: Non follower
Magic: Class C Elementalist
Abilities / Talents: Arcane Language, Occult knowledge, Basic Piracy (how to take care of & operate one's weapons, Intimidation, flying a sky ship, sailing a ship, Proper techniques: Mugging, pillage/plunder, Drinking, drunk fighting, dirty fighting, gambling, Lies, shooting, etc)
Weapons: Cutlass, 2 flintlock pistols,
Armor: Cured leather with brass stripes in between layers. Ivan won this armor set with a "dead man's hand" and the previous owner went berserk. But, Ivan shot the man dead, striped him nude, sat him up in the chair and continued playing poker.
Equipment: Tomb of magic, Tattoos of spells, Rum (lots of it), High Altitude Pirate clothes (Goggles, tri-corner hat, Thick water resistant long-jacket, Boots and brown scarf) which fits nicely over his armor, lucky Mummified Thief's hand (mummified human hand with the number 13 tattooed on the back, in a clenched pose), Large satchel (to carry most of his things), His cutlass and guns.
Appearance: Scrawny, unkempt, with the look of crazy in his eyes... or that how most people describe him.
Personality: Eccentric, "I'll do what i want" attitude,
Bio: Ivan was born in the back ally of a brothel. Life was hard, his mother blamed him for all her problems and beat him nightly in a drunken rage. She died some time later from some extremely rough client. But, he wasn't truly orphaned. The other girls all had him call them mama, the owner had him call her grandma, and he did have a few "bastard" brothers and sisters (not actually related) that lived there too. As soon as the children were old enough to walk they were old enough to work (Cleaning and running to the market was about it until they were older to "work" like the rest of the adults).

Ivan showed sighs of magical abilities when he was young. Most adults simply thought the boy was just a crazy son of a whore. Well, until the old pirate elementalist, Black Bart, noticed Ivan and took him under his wing. Black Bart taught Ivan everything he knew about magic (& life) and over the years they grew close like a father and son (unbeknownst to both of them, they were in fact father and son). The life of a mage pirate came easy for Ivan since he liked booze gambling and terrorizing people. It was a refreshing change from being a punching bag slave; to being "respected" and living a care free life.

Black Bart's life lessons: People tend to leave the crazy guy alone, Listen to your captain and respect your crew.. they are the ones who'll be watching your back when trouble rings its ugly head, Magic won't solve everything... but setting things on fire is always funny,

EDIT! but gonna repost anyways.

Hipereon: The final bastion of the royalists and the empire of light. The nation is split down the horizontal by a high mountain range, few passes are open to land and air travel during the winter due to wind and snow and typically they would need to fly to either end of the 2000 kilometer long range to pass to the north or south. On either side it turns to hills and pinewood forests. Than to low lying plains where farmers toil upon the soil. The sea sprawls the west, north and southern coasts. High cliffs protect most of the northern approaches.

A sprawling cobblestone road network spider webs out from the great range. It has three main sectors, the coastal, inner and high roads. The high road being the closest to the mountains.

The capital city, Lightwatch, rests atop a mountaintop on the western fringes of the great range. The city is a marvel of steam engineering and digs deep through and below the mountain to access the geothermal energy below it. This gives it an endless source of power to feed the machinery. It also houses the worlds second largest airdock, large enough to accommodate The Red Rose.

There are four hierarchies in the nation, the workers class at the lowest, Mechan, High Guard, and Royalist. The workers class are the people who farm, are simple factory workers, miners, and do a variety of other jobs than make life livable for others. They are rather poorly paid but they are free peoples. The workers keep the country moving but it is the Mechan who operate that drive. They are mechanics, operators, inventors, engineers and tradesmen. A very skilled class. It is they who run the forges, build the airships and crew them, as well as all the machinery.
High Guard are the officers of the military, management of workforces and administrative duties. They also form the royal guard whom protect the Royalists.
Royalists are the highest class, other than the royal family themselves. They own the factories, forges, air docks, ports and other large businesses such as shipping companies. They often just have someone run the businesses for them and reap the profits while entertaining friends and attending grand balls. Some chose to be officers in the military, obtaining high ranks quickly because of status. Most are ineffective leaders and are just figureheads playing dress up. The High Guard are the true military leaders but not all Royalists who chose this are incompetent.
Some of the more eccentric types are also inventors, with all the free time they have they like to put it to good use.

Due to the perilous war most of the three lower classes have been drafted into military service or vital industry sectors. But with the empire facing extinction it is quite necessary.

Uleth the Kingdom of Earth. A sprawling Kingdom of stalwart peoples that lay to the northeast of Hipereon and forms most of the boarder between them. Much of the land is endless plain, flat for a thousand miles in either direction. The only landmarks are manmade towers erected in towns for the use of navigation and military posts. It's western coast eases down from the high cliffs of her western cousin, but the north coast is as jagged as a Carimo's mouth. Many of it's cities are constructed over the flat surface for miles with few structures over four stories high but often many more dug into the earth.

Rail is heavily used in the nation, it is here the locomotive was invented. The flat land was ideal for this method of transportation. Few paved roads exist outside the major cities, stone not being an abundant resource. So very commonly dirt roads take their place, they can always be seen running next to the rail lines.

The capitol is Tibarn, situated on the western coast where the great river Anulyn flows to the sea. Most of the structures there are either wooden or made of brick. The palace itself where the king and his family abode is of limestone and marble imported from her southern neighbor hundreds of years ago when that land was still considered wild.

The social hierarchy is like most. The lowest form being the workers, than the Mechanis (Meckan). There are only the three classes here, the Mechanis performs most of the duties that the High Guard would in Hipereon. And again there are the Royalists.

Much of Uleth is now under the iron grip of the republic. The capitol is close to being sieged and their king Thesiador the 3rd refuses to abandon his peoples and the throne, inspiring them to hold the line. But non save his closest aids and the queen know of his ill plysical and mental health the war has inflicted upon him.

Thund - Akrieg, the Air Empire [/b[ A land of mountains taller than any airship can fly and deep cut valleys where the sun only shines for a handful of hours a day. More than any other nation is the airship relied upon more or it was before the war. The entirety of it's air fleet has been annihilated and much of the civilian craft as well. This leaves it's cities isolated, but not terribly vulnerable. They're carved into mountains and only their exterior is exposed to attack, land access to most of the cities leaves is nonexistent. This leaves the republic to preform commando styled raids on them, which are quickly repulsed. Since they've so few airships themselves that they've captured it is a waste to use them. But they have come up with one strategy that is working for them, pirates from the havens. They contract them out to ferry troops in for assaults and raid by themselves. This only became viable when the Southern Gate was taken. The gate is the only way into the nation on it's southern boarder. It's a massive structure built to blockade the pass, but once lost it was like the jugular being cut. So much of the territory and the peoples lives have been lost it's a joke to call it an Empire any more, king Lauzari Thund is in exile in Hipereon. He yearns to retake the country but without a fleet of his own....

Glorinst

There are no classes anymore, only survivors and those that remain in the shattered empire.

Horses: Used as the common cavalry of all nations.

Carimo: Somewhat resembling a squirrel, but with 3 tails a mouth full of razor sharp teeth, pointed back ears, a white/black camouflage and is about four feet tall. The Carimo is native to the cold mountain ranges across the continent.

Kraken: Giant armored tentacled sea creatures. They often keep the the depths of the seas but have been noted to attack ships unprovoked. Scholars believe they are creatures from the underworld, having come to this world millennia ago and hid in the depths from the gods reach. They are the most feared creature alive.

Vermin: A thieving race of anthropomorphic rat creatures. They walk on two legs but run on all fours. They reach about a foot in height and are covered in a coarse thick black fur. They steal food to feed themselves and their young, along with shiny objects like silverware and jewelry. They communicate through hissing and squeaking, their overall intelligence is very low. Not just because of their appearance and chicaneries are they hated because they carry diseases such as the plague and The Rot. (Should you kill one in your home do not touch the body, use something to carry it away and have it burned, use lime where the body was).

Do you have a list of which empire has what element? Ashhelm is fire, so which one is Hipereon or Uleth etc.

edit: Also, is it ok to have a multinational charcter?

Okay, this sounds really awesome and I like steam punk, but I am absolutely perplexed as to what the chuffing hell we will be doing and what the side are.

So the Republic are bad guys lead by the daughter of the devil and they are more Diesel Punk, the empire is the good guys and they are more steam punk. I think there are other countries too but I'm not sure how they fit in or who they are.

We can choose to be on either side, or we can be a mercenary, and we will play out the war.

That is all I have straight in my head. Could you help clear up the rest for me?

P.S. I don't mean the magic and tech, I understand that, just the nations and stuff

The republic of Glorinst is indeed the enemy and are Diesel Punk as you called them. (I didn't think of a name for it but that works). The remaining 3 empire nations which I've named use steam.

As I've said in a latter post to clear it up you can only be of the 3 remaining empire nations, unless your a Sky Pirate, than I'll allow you to of come from anywhere. But you'll be a mercenary working for Hipereon.

The other two unnamed nations have fallen to the republic, and I've yet to write up the history of them. But for the time being the importance of them isn't high on the list.

Now as for the overall plot, I'm not just going to tell you what my plans are. Wheres the fun in that. I figured it'd be rather obvious that it was what remains of the empire nations vs. the republic. Development as I plan it.

I'll be doling that out in the Nations history and fluff spoiler once I've written it up. Hipereon's is light.

Thank you very much. Also, Diesel Punk isn't something I made up, it is one of the may different "X punk" genres like cyber and steam punk.
