I think waking up really early morning to my mom telling me my grandfather (who I was very close with) was the most crushing thing in recent memory.

Heh, when I saw my ex had a new girlfriend I was like `Oh thank god for that!`.
He kept going on about `When we get back together`. I was like - I dumped you!!! We're not getting back together!
Then when I said `Oh I see you got a new girlfriend, good for you, really. I'm glad you can move past everything` he said `You know this means we probably wont get back together, right?`

I'm remembering why we ended up never talking again, lol.

Worst day of my life.

Wait, so you are forcing your soon-to-be wife to watch a medicore show?

Bah!

Castle is so much better if you are a fan of Nathan Fillion.

OT:

After single handedly saving the raid on Hardcore Vesax run: "Oh wow, you fucking suck as a healer. You let me die! /gkick" This was by the Guild Leader's Girlfriend that I DID let die as the tank was much more of a priority than some weak dps.

She is still a *****.
Don't mind that tingling sensation around your throat.

That's just me Force-choking you through the interwebs.

Close your eyes, it'll all be over soon.

I was an overweight, pimply teenage girl in the 90's who loved anime and video games. I have heard everything anyone could ever think of that is hurtful.

Also, when I was told my mother's surgeon screwed up and she would never walk properly again, much less golf, which is what she lived for. Only through years of hard work has she finally been able to mostly stop using a walker and now uses her cane most of the time, but, not something that is easy to hear. She'll still never be able to sue stairs properly, walk very far, or play any sports. She can never run, jump, stand on her toes, bend her legs much at all, basically, and mostly anything everyone takes advantage of. She's literally shrunk from it all. She will also never stop using heavy-duty narcotic drugs due to the lasting damage, so I am well aware she will probably die young(ish).

Captcha: Cat's Cradle - one of the most depressing songs ever, especially when my (musician) dad sings it.

"GET OUT. I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN. YOU MADE ME REGRET NOT CHOOSING TO HAVE AN ABORTION WHEN I HAD THE CHANCE."
- Mother

The funny thing is that I don't even remember what I did to piss her off, although that was the third time she kicked me out of the house. As chance would have it, it was also the final time because I just called a cab and went to go live with my grandparents. Then she called the police and tried to have my grandparents (her parents) arrested for kidnapping. Woo.
I... fuck man! That's just... I don't even... wow.

I am not an aggressive person by any stretch of the imagination, quite the opposite in fact. However, if my own mother had yelled that at me, I probably would have ended up in jail for GBH, if not worse. You must be Zen as fuck to not have struck out at her right then and there.

OT: At a party one night, a friend of mine (who's gay) got very drunk and made a pass at me, going as far as to trap me in a corner, grope me and try and stick his tongue down my throat even after I'd made it very clear that I was neither gay nor interested in him. That alone was distressing enough, although at the time I tried to downplay it because I didn't want the hassle, and I understood that he was so wasted that he barely knew what he was doing and would never have done it sober. What felt even worse than the assault though at the time was being called a "filthy queer", then being spat on in my face, by another person who I had thought was my friend the next day.

Sadly, I've had to do more `crushing`, though I don't think of it that way.
Had to tell a dude that I didn't share his feelings, I wouldn't think that was that harsh, but according to this thread it's pretty crushing.
And I had to break up with my ex, but I'm sure wherever he is he'd agree we were better off. Or maybe he still hates me, I wouldn't know. I'm sure he's moved on though.

Just human.

You didn't want him, but you were flattered that he liked you, so seeing him get over you so quickly made you feel resentment because it suggests he didn't actually like you that much.

Of course that is just a suggestion, I could be completely and utterly wrong seeing as I do not know you, but that's normally how emotions seem to work. We want to be liked, even by those that we don't like ourselves.

Was at a careers fair at uni, asked for an employers stance on disability, and was told I'd be less use than a dog to them, no-one's going to hire me and the best thing I could do is kill myself so I'm not a burden on the state anymore.

Stay classy Thames Valley Police.
Was this in the news?!

Seriously I hope that guy was out of his job by the time he left the building that day.

I was too shocked to do anything about it at the time. Besides, it's never a good idea to start shit with your local force, even if you're in the right.

Even if you didn't personally though, I'm surprised no-one overheard and complained about it.

At the lunch table way back in high school. A girl said to me "I don't know sheppy, I just have a hard time taking you seriously... it's just... you have a funny face!"

These places are on a par with trading floors when it comes to noise.

It's in the past now anyway; I've managed to move on.

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

Needless to say the day that followed was not fun.

"I'm sorry..."

This was a girl I had a crush on for 10 years (no kidding, started when I was 8) when I finally got around to letting her know. We'd been friends for most of that time, and I knew her well enough to know that she meant it too. So not only did I end up feeling like shit, I made her feel like shit too. It's a double whammy of shit! Not to mention that this is the most loyal person I've ever known, and she was already pretty serious with someone else. I knew damn well I'd get rejected, but I went for it anyway. For some stupid ass reason. I'd like to think that I later redeemed myself by pretending I was over it and gradually cutting all ties with her.

Meh, I guess that's pretty tame by this thread's standards, but never before (or after) in my life have I felt that kind of urge to just scream my lungs out.

Many, many times: "(insert name of person I cared about) is dead."

I tend not to let the little things get to me... but when a friend or family member dies (especially when they do so violently), it hurts.

During my apprenticeship I was taken out the back by one of my head chefs who told me 'You fuck up even when you try'. That comment kinda hurt a bit.

"No fuck of man, don't be such a pussy" A friend told me that after I tried to help him with his girl problems, and "I already have a boyfriend" yeah that last one doesn't need explanation.

Fantastic.

Uh... probably:

"Jack, we have to break up".

Why?

"Because I cheated on you".

Fuck.

and then, after that, probably "Jack, we're having Moss and Jim put to sleep". (Our old dogs)
