The Society of Justice: A Super Hero Roleplay

Richard continued laughing.

"I pity you as well, you don't even know how much you have already done. One day you will see I am speaking the truth, it is just a matter of time. For now though, I'm content to let you believe as you wish." Richard said in between laughs before jumping off the roof and walking back inside after landing. He changed back into the clothes he had picked from Leland's pile and sat on the couch.

"Thanks Leland..." Jason said as he was handed the map.

"Never read a map before, but this shouldn't be too hard." He said as his eyes widened once he unfolded the map. He chuckled nervously before he met back up with Katie.

"Leland'll show us to the Greenhouse, but gettin to the gym will be a whole 'nother story..." He said to her, staring at the map in confusion.

"Alright. Tommy I'll meet you outside in a couple of minutes," Leland told him as he grabbed his crutch and led the way to the green house. Leland was right when he said it would have been complicated to just give directions to the area. The number of twists and turns they made was easily a dozen or two, with Leland stopping them at a glass door. He opened it up, letting them walk into the large green house.

"Thanks," Katie said, nodding to Leland before entering the greenhouse. Her jaw dropped as she looked around the wide open space filled with plants from around the world, many of which she didn't recognise. Saplings of all kinds took up at least a third of what she could see, some older than others. She caught the scents of pine, oak, elm, and a few other familiar trees, noting a small grove of apples producing their fruit in abundance.

Spotting a medium-sized flowerbed near the door, Katie hurried over and examined it briefly, before sending a quick mental command into it. A thornless rose, her trademark plant, grew from the flowerbed. Katie picked it out, tucked it behind her ear and turned to Jason. "Okay, got what I came here for," she said, returning to the entrance.

"You guys want to go to the exercise room next, right? Thankfully it's not too far away," Leland told them, leading them down the hall they were on.

"I hope you liked the garden Katie. You can go there whenever you want. My mom will probably be there often now that she uh...learned how to use your power," Leland coughed, realizing that maybe that wasn't a good thing.

"Wait...did you just say...that your mom...learned our powers?" Jason said in complete shock.

"...Well, I was wondering what kind of power she had other than the ability to not age. It kinda also explains how she can rule over the villain underworld with such an iron fist..." He added with a intrigued nod.

 

[CounterAttack]

Katie shot a sideways look at Leland. "Say what? Camille can control plants the way I do? How does she know that?" She instantly began to think over the ramifications; if Camille could do that, she could probably do everything the Society's supers could. That meant she could most likely cause a lot more trouble than the Union already had.

Leland was silent as he thought out how he was going to explain it to Katie. "She just got it recently...from you. See my mom, while she was healing you, also kinda looked at how your body was able to 'produce' your powers I guess. So then she replicated that process, and now she has them," he explained with a ton of hand gesturing.

"So, she'd probably be practicing the powers she got from you in the gardens. Along with everyone else's she took," he muttered.

 

[CounterAttack]

"I see..." Katie deliberately trailed off as she thought about it. If that was the case, she would have to speak to Camille later. Hypothetically she was also capable of that minor levitation power Katie had, although Camille would have no real use for thirty seconds of limited flight. It was odd, because she only learned she could do it after seeing it happen on TV. Neither of her parents were supers, so Katie had no idea how or why her powers existed. Perhaps there was a reason why she had picked up her abilities...

Jason listened attentively to the discussion between Leland and Katie, still intrigued by Camille's power.

"The Key's can only be attained through family genes and such. I wonder, since she can use other people's powers...would that mean that she has the Key in her now?" he wondered.

"Nahhh, I don't think that's possible. You said it yourself that it's in your genes. She'd have to be born with the Key to use it."Erebus spoke out.

"Well, we'll cross that bridge eventually, I guess." He answered.

"Alright then you two," Leland said after leading them through another maze of corridors and stopping at a sliding door. "Here is the exercise room. Should be big enough for a spar since the equipment is all to the right. Um, need anything just get me. Good luck finding your way back!" he said with a laugh, heading back the way he came so he could meet up with Tommy.

Richard couldn't stand listening to MTV one more moment. He got off the couch and began to walk up the stairs, passing the first floor and heading up to the second. He saw Leland and walked over.

"I'm sorry, but would mind if I were to join you? I would prefer to be in the company of someone who can actually teach me a thing or two that isn't currently watching 'My Super Sweet 16'. I swear, if I hear one more bimbo complain that the cake was too small or the car not fancy enough, I'm going to break something." Richard asked tiredly, today was proving to be far too long.

Tommy was waiting for Leland, he had put on a jacket on top of his clothes and was carrying a scroll under his arm. Alright I'm ready to go.

I'm sorry, but would mind if I were to join you?

Tommy panicked for a brief moment, his parents had told him strictly not to reveal that his powers came from magic itself. So far he had only confided in Garrus and Leland about it because he considered Garrus the De Facto leader and Leland was going to know whether he wanted it or not. Oh no he can't come, if he see's this spell he'll be able to figure out I'm a magic being, and thats going to lead to bad things.

Jason thanked Leland before turning around, getting a good look at the gym. He whistled, impressed at what he was seeing. He turned to girlfriend as his mask began to crawl up his face.

"Alright Katie, you ready for this? I won't hold back speed wise, and I want you to do everything in your power to stop me, okay?" He said as he stretched.

As Aaron made his rounds around the property he ended up getting lost. It was almost as if it was just one huge elaborate maze. It seemed as if he wondered for hours which was really only a couple of minutes. Eventually he made his way to what seemed like a gym. He noticed that there were no other nearby places and he was scared he was going to get lost. He wondered in and noticed Katie and Jason already there talking to each other.

"Whoa..I'm sorry if I interrupted something. My bad," Aaron started to ease himself slowly back towards the exit.

"I don't see a problem with it Richard. What about you Tommy?" Leland asked with his normal cheerful demeanor. He put on his snow boots (well just one since the other couldn't go on the cast) and a navy and electric blue jacket.

"I don't think I'll need snow pants," he muttered to himself, opening up the door and shivering, "Brrr this damn wind chill! Kinda feel like just going back into the warm living room and watching whatever Requiem is watching. Hopefully one of those really crappy dating shows are on! Those are always fun."

"Ah, you're going outside, no thanks. I have no snow clothes and I'd like to not put on the suit again. You wouldn't just happen to have a library or study would you? You know, some place where one can sit in solitude and think with no interruptions." Richard requested from beside Leland.

Tommy exhaled in relief, alright, he's not going to see the spell. He wrote a note and quickly handed it to Richard.

 Leland's got one of the craziest libraries I've every seen, some of the books there are the only editions in existence.  I'm pretty sure he'll be cool letting you see it.

"You can go into my library and look at some things. I will say be careful around some of the artifacts, would rather you not get turned to dust or get separated from your body...things like that," Leland to Richard, "Basically if it looks like it can hurt you don't go near it."

"So are we ready to head out then Tommy? I'd like to get this done before it gets any colder than it already is," Leland told him, taking a scarf and gloves out of his jacket's pocket and putting them on.
