The Society of Justice: A Super Hero Roleplay

Jason looked back on Katie, smiling as she chewed out Dona. With newfound excitement, he turned to face Aaron.

"We may both have the same weapons, but who is the better weilder?" He called out before dashing after him.

"C'mon A! Let's go! Bring it!" He happily roared as they forcefully collided.

Aaron used the ice to keep up with Jason's momentum. As they collided Aaron could feel the strength Jason had put into the attack. They were locked and one of them needed to react. Aaron headbutted Jason knowing that it wouldn't do any real damage though he followed up with a knee in the stomach.

Katie shook her head in minor annoyance, and resolved to ignore both Leland and Dona until the battle was over. She turned to see Jason and Aaron locked in a one-on-one struggle. Immobilising Aaron or restraining his movements presented itself as the best solution, and Katie acted on it, unraveling her gloves and sending vines out again. One from each hand wrapped themselves around the ice-manipulator's ankles at her unspoken command, and tugged sharply, intending to trip Aaron if he tried to break free.

Aaron was so focused with Jason he almos forgot about Katie. He looked down and noticed vines wrapping around his ankles. They tightened by the second and Aaron knew if he tired to move he would be brought down hard. Aaron smiled and turned to Katie.

"I got a question for you Katie. Why don't you see plants in the winter?" Aaron grunted still holding off Jason.

Aaron then preceded to lower the temperature around his ankels. The frost extended to the vines as they started to freeze dying in the process.

Katie shuddered and let out a low hiss from the cold and the pain, both caused by synaptic feedback as her plants were hurt. She let go of Aaron and recalled her cold vines, re-wrapping them around her hands. The ends that had been around his ankles snapped off as she brought them back, and all the thorns had broken off, so she regrew the ends with a little effort, not bothering with the thorns. Aaron wasn't wearing armour, and they would just freeze or break again if he turned his body into organic ice.

She was stuck for ideas, unsure what she could do to help. Someone like Aaron wasn't an optimal opponent for Katie.

Jason noticed that Katie's vines weren't gonna do much in a situation like this, and watched as they slithered back to her. Jason kicked Aaron square in the chest to break free of their struggle, quickly slicing at the air to keep him away. He turned to face Katie.

"Kate, if your ranged attacks won't work, then you just gotta go back to close combat!" Jason quickly called out before spinning to face Aaron, stabbing a blade into the ground. He jumped, putting his legs into the air to unleash a devestating barrage of kicks on Aaron.

Tsatoma and I talked about how ot reintroduce Khrys since I got so out of date. Khrys had a motivation that would draw her away from the team so the basic story si that as they team got ready she was poking around online and without talking to anyone slipped away and is now coming back.

Khrys arrived at the Prominade carefully parking her car. getting out she leaned back against the door and ran her hand through her hair with a sigh of frustration. Things had gone well in every way but the important one. Pulling her tie off her hair she threw it with unsatisfying result and shaking her hair free walks off into their little private complex.

Aaron took the blow of Jason's kicks head on. He slid back a couple of feet almost losing his balance thanks to the ice. He staggered before looking back up at Jason and Katie.

"Well if you guys want to have some close quarter combat i'd be happy to oblige," Aaron smiled.

He quickly got rid of the spikes shooting out of his wrists. He replaced them with an ice shield on his left hand and turned his right hand into a large ice spike.

Jason looked on as Aaron formed a shield.

"Hm. That looks pretty tough. How am I gonna get past it? Jason thought.

"Hey kid. You don't need to. You just need to get under him." Erebus simply replied.

"You're right. And I think I know how..." Jason said as his armblades shot back into his arms. He looked down at his palms. With a simple thought, small spikes sprouted.

"On second thought, how about we do a hybrid of both?" Jason said before rapidly thrusting is hands into the ground, sending hundreds of long black slender spikes speeding their way towards Aaron.

Aaron felt a surge of energy flowed through his body. It seemed as if Jason's spikes were approaching slower than before. Aaron shifted his weight to his right foot.

"C'mon Jason all the stuff your doing I already did. Get some new tricks man."

Aaron stomped on the icy ground as ice spikes rose heading right toward, Jason just as his spikes were heading toward Aaron. At the last minute Aaron jumped the one of the spikes clipped him in mid air and flipped him over crashing face first into the ice.

"O.K. that kind of hurt," Aaron grunted.

Leland had known Dona was sitting next to him even before she had shown herself to the others. He had moved slightly away from her, not wanting to be too close. 'Since she still freaks me out,' Leland thought to himself, making sure all his barriers were up.

He wondered if he should go into the fight, even though that wouldn't be a good idea. He was getting bored with all the new limitations his injuries had caused, and was growing restless with being on hiatus in the Union. He put his head in his hands, rubbing his temples as he stared at the floor.

Jason casually walked over to Aaron, reaching for a spike out of the ground without looking at it. It grew longer and longer until it resembled the likeness of a bo staff. As the other spikes receded into the ground, Jason approached the ice manipulator, looking down to him.

"Armblades may be cool and all, but the staff is still one of my favorite weapons. But I haven't used one in like, forever. So I think now would be a good time for a refresher course, don't you think?" He said nonchalantly before elegantly twirling the staff, and bringing it down hard upon Aaron with a roar.

Tommy eventually found his way back to the library where he found Richard reading, he then remembered his broken communicator. He slid a note to Richard and then waited patiently for him to read it.

 Richard, my communicator was shot during the fight to get to Mordtoten.  Is there anyway you can build a new one?

Aaron's back cracked as the staff collided with him. Aaron let out a small wince before knocking Jason back with his shield. Aaron distanced himself and breath heavily. The adrenaline was still pumping through his veins. He then changed his right hand back into a normal fist and slammed it against the floor. As he pulled back up a staff resembling Jason's online a little shorter.

"Whatever you can do I can do better...," Aaron started to sing. He then stomped his foot and icicles started to fall from the gym's ceiling onto Jason.

Richard looked up from the scroll after finishing to see Tommy simply standing there. He had gotten so engrossed in his reading he hadn't noticed the note or Tommy. Startled when he saw him, he jumped in his seat a bit before regaining composure.

"Oh god! Sorry, I didn't even notice you there." Richard said as he looked over the note.

"Oh yes, quite easily in fact. Those communicators are actually mass produced by the company to be sold to militaries and security corporations. They all have their own satellite networks though, so there isn't bleed through into our comms. As soon as we get back I can either have another delivered or simply get the components and build you a new one. My apologies, I'm probably boring you with the techno babble. It will be no problem at all, to put it simply." he replied as he sat back in the chair.

 It's alright, I've been getting that reaction a lot lately.

Tommy wrote remembering when he scared Garrus back at the Promenade he continued,

 Ok then when we get back to Promenade.  Say what's that scroll about?

Richard read the note and replied ecstatically. He leaned in towards Tommy as he spoke. "This particular scroll is Eteocretan, the language of the ancient Minoan civilization. It details a historical myth of the creation of the Minoan civilization. There is nothing like this scroll anywhere else in the world that I know of, and the same holds true for all the other scrolls I have read. The scrolls in this library would be a discovery on par with finding writings from the great library at Alexandria intact. Myths, histories, and accounts of kings historians have never even heard of, as well as simply day to day accounts of the lives of the ancients." Richard sat back and looked at the ceiling as he continued.

"Do you know how many historians would kill for a find like this? Here I am, getting to read these scrolls. Yet, all I can think of right now is how badly I wish there was another great library somewhere in this world. Somewhere that I can find, and share what I know with the whole world, illuminating a whole world we know nothing about and raising brand new questions. Though for now, the only place that might have one is the lost city of Atlantis or god damn El Dorado." Richard joked.
