"Just one more thing to worry about," Garrus said to Richard, kicking some dirt, "Nothing can just be simple can it? Nope, always something!"

He turned as he heard a motorbike, watching as Katie and Jason pulled up. "Hi, and no you haven't missed much. Just talking about plans, and getting an idea of what we're dealing with," he said.

"Nothing is ever simple Garrus, at least nothing worth doing is. Tommy, see if you can't get through to someone and warn them, most of his forces will probably be tied up here in the non-magical realms, but there is a high chance he'll try and take them out once he's done with us. Maybe if we fail, they'll have the chance to stop him." Richard said solemnly before turning to Katie.

"We know now for a fact Leland is in there. We need to go in and at least get him subdued. Garrus has informed Leland has a wide variety of physical attacks, fire resistant armor is going to be a must. We also recently figured out Omoi probably knows the location of at least one magical city because of his mind control on Leland. That's the situation we're in as of now."

" I wouldn't put anything past Omoi at this point, but I think he could have easily gotten Leland to tell him, however that would mean he would only know about New Eldorado, because Leland didn't know about any of them until I told him." Tommy replied to Richard. He then pulled out his phone and sent a text.

"There, just sent a text to my family and all of my Dad's war buddies, ain't technology grand. I don't think you should be too worried about New Eldorado, unless you designed these suits to be Anti-magic, they'll have more than enough power to keep themselves safe."

"If he knows about New Eldorado and is given enough time, he'll come up with something. If the city thinks it's safe then it won't react, which gives him time to plan and come up with something to take them over with. Then once he has access to whatever data storage systems New Eldorado uses, he'll find the rest of them. Better to warn them of the serious threat they face now in case we all end up dead." Richard replied grimly.

Garrus wandered over to the opening of the building, taking a peek inside. There was nothing unusual about it other than the fact that it was completely barren.

"So is it basically just barren rooms?" he asked Kate who had walked over.
"No the first floor is just for show in case anyone investigated. The second floor is dark and damp, lots of water leaks. We believe it's like that to deter people from continuing on. After that it's just deserted rooms...or at least that is how far we got. For all I know it might have been an illusion," she replied.

"Okay guys let's head on in. Be careful, be alert, all that good stuff," Garrus told everyone as he opened the door and went inside.

"Is walking into a trap any better if you know it's a trap?" Richard said sardonically as he followed Garrus inside.

"The best we can do is try and constantly remember where we just were in case we get sucked into an illusion."

"All right then," Katie said to no-one in particular as she followed the others. She sprouted a few buds from her armoured hands in case the group was attacked before they reached Leland for some reason. After hearing Richard's comment, she took in her surroundings carefully, making sure to note little details that one of Leland's illusions might miss.

Garrus looked around the room as Kate led them across the hall, leading them to a wall. She pushed in a panel causing part of the wall to open, revealing a dark passageway. There were lights strung up along the ceiling to illuminate there way. Garrus followed Kate as she went down the few steps, leading them into what resembled old sewers.

"Won't have to deal with crocs right?" Garrus asked jokingly, turning back to others expecting any reaction. He turned back around once he knew he wasn't going to get a laugh, walking over some grating.

"Doesn't seem like your standard base, then again I only saw two of them, but what the hell was he doing here? The passages seem too small to hold an army and the place doesn't look to be big enough to be a production facility, research station maybe?" Richard asked as he followed.

"I hope not, last time we visited a 'research facility' we needed Leland to save us, and I don't think he's in a benevolent mood right now." Tommy replied as he crawled in after Richard.

"So what would they be researching here?" He asked as he hopped over a particularly stagnent puddle.

"We figured it was a place for storage, or a safe place when moving things from one of the larger bunkers to another one," Kate replied, taking them across some more grates as she led them further along.

Garrus looked around nervously, trying to take note of everything. He was so distracted that he didn't realize where he was going and stepped into some of the water. A rat ran by his feet making him jump back until it ran off. He calmed down after a few moments, putting on a tough face from everyone.
"Didn't see the sucker...not a lot of light," he muttered with embarrassment, pointing upwards to the lights that were flickering on and off.

Katie shuddered at Garrus's comment. "Ew, rats," she murmured to herself, taking care to avoid stepping into water as much as possible. She took note of the lights, and asked, "I don't mean to whine, but how much of this do we have to go through?"

"Makes sense, wouldn't need to be in good condition to be a waypoint, but you still don't want people finding it." Richard said before Garrus stepped in the puddle.

"If there is one thing to be thankful for in a suit, enclosed environment. Probably a ton of mold in this place and I'm thankful that nothing I step in or walk by will actually get to me."

"Oh come on Katie, this place is probably filled with fungi that you can use. You could be the mighty Sporior!" Tommy replied, half joking half speculating. There was a thunk, as he smacked his head on a low hanging pipe, leaving a dent in it.

" Ok this place was not made for people who are six seven."

Sporior= Spore + Warrior, incase you didn't get it...

How do you leave footnotes again?

Richard had followed behind Tommy since they had gone in. He heard the sound and Tommy's comment. As he walked by he looked up at the pipe to see what damage had been done and saw...absolutely nothing. The pipe looked completely fine as if it had taken no damage at all, but it must have from the sound of it.

"Hey Tommy, you sure you damaged that pipe back there? I just looked at it as I walked by and it looked as if it hadn't even been touched." Richard paused as the realization dawned on him.

"We may be in an illusion people, I'm not sure, but keep vigilant for anything out of the ordinary. Any kind of sensation or lack thereof you wouldn't expect down here."

"If you ask me, this whole damn place smells of magic." Alister said, suddenly appearing next to Richard. "Been around the stuff long enough to know what it feels like when something's wrong. Even if it's not an illusion, I'd say to stay on your toes, never know what's crawling around after you when you get the supernatural involved."

"I'm sure I did, my head is definetly hard enough to." Tommy looked forward, he couldn't see the end, and when he looked back he couldn't see the beggining.

"Crap, I don't like this, I just realized I have no idea how long we've been walking."

Richard noticed he couldn't see the end either, the hallway just extended into pitch black even though the immediate area was always lit.

"There's also the fact that even though I can't see either end, wherever we walk always has working lights. That makes no sense physically speaking, light coming from the lights on the wall would radiate in all directions from their source and be caught by the eye unless blocked. They aren't blocked when we walk by them so we should be able to see the entire hallway. Well shit, we're in an illusion."

Katie looked around nervously. Nothing appeared unchanged, but she was on her guard. The flickering lights didn't help the situation, and she moved to stand against the wall for reassurance that it was still there. Then she examined the lights a little further, and noticed the bulbs were gone. Richard spoke the truth. Fear began to creep into her mind, having never experienced Leland's illusion ability before.
