The wii is dead technology. the motion sensor controller system is FUBAR, the entire system actually looks worse than say, the PS2 and Xbox, and not to mention the games in general suck a big one. that being said, i still think this is a very balanced group of systems. the wii is really fun (when the fucking motion sensors work), the PS3 is a hardware juggernaut that can only go up from here (seeing as how only 1 game has used all of the technology at hand), and the Xbox is the all around good gaming system (as long as it doesnt get angry at you for trying to play games on it).

No More Heroes, de Blob, Zack and Wiki. That's three very good games right there. I could go on, but I've already disproved your statement.
That's not really disproving his statement. You can't disprove something that is subjective you can only counter it.
Actually, if you analyze the sentence, you can understand the flaw:

"It only has two good games, yet it is selling faster than shit.

I have to agree, as the Wii, and just about everything else, sells faster than shit. This is what happens when high school dropouts try to make logical arguments. You get "shit on a stick".

I would make a comment stating that I'm sick of these Wii bash threads, or quote any one of a good many posts to prove my point without having to say much, however this Wii bash thread steps over the last week of Wii bash threads because of one thing: It made me laugh.

Seriously, the first post was hilarious and all, but some of the latter posts are gold.

Reported.
Do you know what I'm sick of? When someone makes a thread calling the Wii out for what it really is. "Wiitards" will mount their furious 27-pronged assault at anyone saying that the system is bad, as this thread clearly illustrates.

A few points I'd like to refute here.

Family-friendly is code for "The kids jump up and down giddly at pokecrap while the adults look on and wonder how much longer they have to endure this torture." For every game that can truly be called family-friendly, there are at least 150 games that carry this monicker but are really crappy games that only kids can enjoy.

Funnily enough, 150:1 is just about the ratio of bad games to good games on the Wii.

Motion-Sensitive technology is new? Well, what the Wiimote actually sports is "Weight-Sensitive" tech, which is only new in video games. Also of note is that very few of the games on the Wii actually make proper use of it.

The Wii is also a pretty lame name for a game system. What it should be called is the "Gamecube 1.5". This is because the technological specs of the thing are 1.5x better then it's predecessor. Look it up if you don't believe me.

Nintendo might be winning over old people and divorced housewives, but it's doing zip for the gaming community. So if you actually think that the Wii is an awesome new innovation, I suggest you go find the definition of the word innovation. Because anything Nintendo has done in the current gen has not truly fallen under that category.

Nintendo - The Bathroom Scale company you can trust.
Everything you said, has been said before and said better. This thread contributes nothing new to the argument. I never said the Wii didn't have problems, but these threads are just as bad as the PS3/360 flamewars. Why do the mods allow shitty threads like this to exist? You'd think after the millionth one they would start locking them. Again you're contributing nothing new to the argument.

Nintendo realised that better graphics is a poor business decision (you know that whole pesky making money thingy) or just realised that graphically consoles were always going to be behind the pc anyway and so decided not to bother :)
Face it OP the Wii was not marketed to well grounded and entrenched life long gamers I mean when was the last time (apart from nintendo) that advertised games not by displaying it but showing how much fun the players (consumers) were having playing their product.
If kids dont start playing games then the game market is going to collapse just like the comic book industry did.

The Wii was designed for casual gamers, not for hardcore gamers. It's purpose is to sell as many crap games as it can and still get away with it. Thank Jesus I didn't buy one.

I've no problem with people not liking the Wii, it's retarded posts I have a problem with.

Completely subjective, but of the five to ten people I work with who've brought Wiis to play with their kids on, nobody's mentioned not enjoying themselves. You got one example to back your rant up with?

More hard facts. Nice one.

For the life of me I can't fathom your point here.

Yeah okay, I'm with you on this one.

"The Wii" isn't the best name ever, but you can see what they're going for and it's hardly a strong enough point to bring to an argument. Your "Gamecube 1.5" comment is insanely stupid. Why is a console not trying to push boundaries graphically such a difficult concept for you to deal with? Attention: THERE IS MORE TO GAMING THAN GRAPHICS, SIMPLETON.

So only young guys are welcome in your gaming community. Of course. I can totally picture your tree house right now, with it's hastily scrawled "no girls allowed" sign. Dude, grow up.

See earlier, when I was calling you a graphics obsessed simpleton in caps.

I didn't realize that shit off a stick sold so well... I'm going to be rich!!

Also, this thread has been made a million times and I agree with it every time. It's just silly why people will buy such a boring console. Wii sports is only fun for so long.

Ironically, the johnx61's of this world who persistently call out anyone who can see the Wii has several great games as a childish moron need to grow up more than anyone else. I own a Wii, as well as a 360 and PC and I find the amount of patronising arseholes who are so obsessed with going against trends and keeping an indie-kid cool internet image that they won't look at the facts very insulting. What, I own a Wii so I'm a childish retard now? Well, isn't the internet a bundle of joy these days. The Wii has numerous great games. You can bring up Hannah Montana all you like but it doesn't make Mario Galaxy any less brilliant, or No More Heroes any less fun.

Hating the Wii isn't an opinion anymore, it's a fashion statement for the elitists.

Ok The PS3 only has a few good games and I'm on my second 360 but at least they're trying something new, the Wii just uses old tech and gets away with it!
PS3 and X-Box 360... The only innovation is more power and higher graphics. Other then that there is not much innovation, they tend to release samey games, FPSs in general. On the other hand the Wii, while using older tech, has developed an entirely innovative control system. Yet you don't consider this innovation? This motion control isn't considered new at the moment? I'll just leave it at that. And at the fact that the Wii is going downhill... not so much. 2009s line up is pretty exciting with games that I'm too lazy to check or remember (subtle hint saying you should).

Edit:

Is it really any lamer then the PS3? At least the name is more innovative then the other two as well. (seriously PS2 becomes PS3, Xbox becomes Xbox 360 and Gamecube becomes Wii). That there seems more innovative.

Second Edit:

And yes, everything I said has been said before. Because everything I said is correct. Shovelware, poorly implemented technology and half-assed system specs are all problems with the Wii. The only reason Nintendo gets away with this is because they market to people who don't expect quality games, because they don't know what a quality game is.
The PS3 and X-Box 360 have there share of shovel-ware. Furthermore the "poorly implemented technology" is only on the count of some game devs. The Wiimote (still can't get used to that) is well implemented in numerous games, most notably FPSs, Third-Person Shooters and Rail Shooters. Oh wow... the game genres that the X-Box 360 dominates can be considered more or as fun on the Wii due to the controller. What an ironic turn of events.

Finally the "everything I said is correct" and the whole last sentence. Very arrogant. Very elitist. Very snobbish. And in all honesty, makes you sound like a dick. Patronizing the entire group of people who own Wiis is a huge dick-move). I have a Wii and I know what a "quality" (in my mind) game is and I see several on the Wii.
