Couldn't they have stopped at 666 Pokemon? I mean come on, it's so obvious that these creatures are tools of the devil.

PS: 151 4Evar!

I think the quest to "catch 'em all" has become nearly impossible.
Yeah. I think they shouldn't say "catch 'em all" but "You will never catch 'em all".
Well that's why I'm retiring for good this time. That and some of the moves the Pokemon can perform now are just batshit stupid.

...so are these pokemon any different to the original games pokemon? Other than the look and the name?

I don't get Pokemon, tried a game two years back and found the story to be lacking (in comparison to the original Green...Are the games getting more complex yet?

I do like most of them, and one thing about this make me happy, NO MORE ZUBATS!!!! That plus I like how the type combos are finally getting interesting.

im excited for that fire-psychic 'Victini'
Kinda dissapointed with ANOTHER fire-fighting starter though....
I'd like to see some more range for the starter for example:
A Fire-Rock starter.
A Water-Poison starter.
A Grass-Steel starter

They've all been done:
Fire/Rock= Slugma/Macargo
Water/Poison= Qwilfish, Tentacool/Tentacruel
Grass/Steel= Tesshiido/Nattorei

I know theyve been done, i never said they hadn't.
I said that it would be nice to have a pokemon like those as starter instead of the usual
Water type, Grass(sometime ground) type, Fire-Fighting type

I look and the first few I see are... more beavers and fire monkeys and that fire!pig, the one I would've named Potsticker, evolves into a disgusting mix of Electivire and Magmortar? Potsticker, WHY? Smugleaf turns into grass Dragonair and Derpderp is turns into Walrein with a shell motif. Nice.

I find the vast majority of them unimpressive and found myself thinking of them as brick shithouse hybrids of previous pokemon or making smart-assed remarks about them to a friend of mine. "Fetusmon? What." "I think I've seen that flying eyeball bat in a Kirby game." "An awkward duck turning into a swan? [/vomit]" "Cacturne has... blossomed." "An ice cream pokemon? WHY?" "Hey, more electric rodents!" "A coffin with wacky, waving inflatable arms. Ugh." "Ew, a walking pile of refuse." "Luvdisc and Relecanth finally had that love child!" "ELECTRIC ARIADOS! FUCK YEAR!" "D'aw, someone sat on Whiscash."

A great deal of those typings are lulzy, too. Bug/Fire? Dark/Steel? I'm going to admit it was fun seeing the dopey ponycorn and Shinpora. The latter reminds me of a Belhelmel.

Sazando and its line is the only one I like. And maybe dopey ponycorn.

I actually thank you for choosing to link the new ones, because this has about crushed the waning interest I had in the series since Diamond and Pearl. I would've found them eventually, but still. Now is a good time to decide I don't want the games instead of after purchasing them.

Pokemon are going to get the point where they just go to the zoo and have a look at all the exotic animals, then head back to the office to come up with new pokemon, see the stapler on the desk and say "GIRAFFE STAPLER?!? I AM TRULY A GENIUS!"

I was taken aback by the last three legendaries until something dawned on me:

Isshu is based on America.

Kerudio (the pony legendary) is red/white/blue and is a pony. Patriotic. Nice.
Meloia (the green haired normal/psychic legendary) is obviously an allusion to pop music/madona/lady gaga/whatever. Interesting satire nintendo. (It even has a part of the word Melody in its name...yeah music allusion is obvious)
Genosekuto (the bug/steel legendary) is obviously an allusion to all the american sci fi films in the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s. Anything pre Star Wars. Thanks for the other nod in American pop culture nintendo :)

Most are pretty ok, but DAMN some of them are WAAAAY overdesigned.

That said I'll probably get over it, I was like this with D/P, and now they've grown on me. Still though, some of them look like the artist just glued as much shit as possible onto them :/

I'm getting increasingly disappointed as more Black & White Pokemon are released. Except for a few cool ones like the Smugleaf family, the desert crocodiles, and that gear thing, most of the new Pokemon are either extremely unoriginal or look like Digimon.

All of these pokemon are just so strange looking. I guess when you've already made 500 of the damn things, it gets difficult to think of anything interesting. Some of them though... man, what drugs were you on when you thought that thing up? A hermit crab with a giant block of sand for a shell? Really?

Now that's a lot of pokemon. Having said that, I would rather they expanded the move-set and the capabilities of existing pokemon. I know that pokemon can be considered "deep" by many players who do things like min/maxing and stat analysis and EV values and all that stuff, but instead of just making MORE pokemon, couldn't they instead focus their efforts at making the world a bit deeper?

I know that it has to appeal to kids, so there's a limit on what they can do, and I'm aware that it has to be on a hand-held, so again, there's a limit to how much they can improve the graphics. But I still think they could take greater risks with the formula.

Maybe when the 3DS comes out, we'll finally get a Pokemon game that can really push the boundaries. I'm not hopeful, because when you've got a proven money-spinner, there's little incentive to push the envelope, but at leas the possibility will be there.

The Pokemon series are great, especially for those who are young. I certainly enjoyed Blue and Silver, and I had a lot of fun playing and trading with my Brother. But it's a little too stale for me, and I just don't have the time to invest in Pokemon anymore, especially if the experience I get is very similar to the experience I got from the older games.
