Hm. Okay. Not as bad as the 3rd and 4th Generations. I see enough appealing guys here to make a dynamic team or two...and they seem to be returning to the model of "starts small, gradually gets huge" evolution that was so well done in the early games.

But I'm seeing a looot of guys who might as well be reskins of older pokemon. And a chandelier pokemon seems to indicate a drying well. The new legendary trio is like...goats, for crying out loud.

according to serebii Ononokusu (#612) has a base attack of 147. correct me if im wrong but that would give it the strongest attack of any pokemon ever.

Given the look of it, i wouldn't be surprised.

I'm afraid that honour goes to deoxys in attack form... 180

Rampardos also has a higher attack than Ononokusu.

it's not really that hard if you have Platinum and HG/SS, collect all the ones you can in that, then transfer them, it will take a while, but it's possible.

I absolutely love the new grass starter, especially it's final evolution. Definitely the best grass starter yet (with the exception of bulbasaur).

Then I looked at it's stats...

My god Gamefreak, WHY!? You've created a bad ass mother******* snake dragon thing, and you have to go ruin it by giving it terrible typing, horrible attack stats, mediocre defenses and a decent speed which, due to it's low attack, it can't really do anything with anyway!

I was hoping for speed, offense and low defense given it's looks, and I was sorely disappointed.

Although it's not gonna stop me getting the game and naming my new grass starter Smugleaf

...Gear? Really? REALLY? I'm sorry pokemon, but you guys need to admit you've run out of ideas. the first two gen of games were great, and they had awesome design. Third had a few decent, fourth was pretty "blech" imo, and this....meh. I really haven't played a pokemon game since third gen (that was ruby and sapphire, right?) and I'm kinda glad I left when I did.

Just took another look at them, slightly more "in-depth"...and there's an ice-cream pokemon. Fuck it, why not.

I wasn't really looking forward to seeing the new pokes after I saw the initial leaks/announcements. I thought they were really scraping the bottom of the barrel int eh designs department to bleed more money out of a cherished franchise (which they are though, I suppose).

But now I think I was wrong. While there are a lot of misses, there are a LOT more hits. Can't wait to put together my team: Jaroda, Doryuuzu, Roopushin, Abagoora, Ononokusu, Wargle.

And for the record, my favourite generation is R/S/E, and my favourite pokemans is Aggron.

I certainly hope so, right now it's completely inferior to the other starters in all but looks.
