I laughed so hard my water spilled out of my nose. Good stuff, sir, good stuff.

I checked this morning, and it seems that they've changed a lot: there are some new spots marked, that red string between Africa and India (I suppose), the "CAN'T ANYONE SEE THE PATTERNS" scribble, and the photo that says "SW of Felixstowe Harbour".

One more bit of data: whatever the red lights are, it can't be "just" a Big Daddy or a Splicer. They move at 30 knots, which seems better suited to a submarine.

This teaser site was a marvelous idea. I'm super-psyched for this game already.

EDIT: also notice the footprint on the beach. It looks humanoid and organic. Also notice how close together the footprints are. Most likely some sort of Splicer. (I may be looking into it too much).

Perhaps the teaser site is for the movie. This kind of mystery would probably be better suited for a movie, but who knows. It might be for the sequel.

Perhaps the evil ending is the canon ending. In the evil ending, Jack (I think that's his name) took over rapture and used the splicers to commandeer a nuclear submarine. Perhaps Jack is using the splicers to kidnap the girls, turn them into little sisters using those parasites (I think that's how it's done, kinda like the symbiotes in Stargate), and then hold the world for ransom with the nukes and take over the world. The movie might be a suspense/mystery/horror movie that follows some detectives trying to unravel these strange events and save the world, or something along those lines. Another possibility is that Jack is still in Rapture and he's controlling all the splicers from Andrew Ryan's office and in Bioshock 2, you have to go into Rapture and take down Jack and save the world. Whatever it is, it's going to be awesome.
WAT?!?!?!

Anyway, I honestly have no idea what this site is about, what patterns there are, or something. This is what FEAR 2 did. The only thing that did something like this good was cloverfield.

you became a big daddy by the end of a game. what if you actually began thinking like one. you found the little girls and thought that they were little sisters. you are the only one to escape after all. (besides the german scientist)

...red lights, girls aged 5-7, weird footprints. You don't see the patterns?

There's only been one sighting of the underwater lights at a time, never two. Remember in the evil and the secret endings? Jack steals a nuclear submarine and takes over rapture. The footprints are probably made by splicers and the red lights are probably from the submarine, but the sub has probably been modded with some Rapture tech.

Secret ending? So far the only endings I know are the Evil (take over Rapture), Good (bring the Sisters back to the surface) and the Evil-but-not-quite (you need to harvest most Sisters, but not all of them... it's the same as the evil ending but Tenenbaum sounds sad rather than angry). Is that the secret ending you were talking about?

whoa whoa whoa hold up!

ok now this site was made about a week ago right?

if so it probably only had the european coast info. on it.

if it keeps going around the world, wat might happen if the Big Daddy (or watever they are) reach America?

I've deduced a few things:
1. This is 8 years after the original Bioshock (1959-1967)
2. The strange shoes and precision cutting could be the work of a splicer, maybe the hooked spider ones.
3. The reports of a single red light suggest a Rosie, but the Doll and reports of smashing through solid walls suggests a Bouncer.
4. The events are moving south from Britain toward the Mediterranean or Africa.
5. Red lights moving a 30 knots could be a new kind of submarine or modified bathysphere.
6. The thin Big Daddy's could be a lack of nourishment after 8 years (what and how do they eat anyway) or it could be splicers working with Big Daddys to get the girls.
7. Perhaps, the Big Daddys are on a crazed mission to find Little Sisters. This would explain the kidnappings and the invariably red, "angry" eyes.

I will probably think of more once I post so more things could be edited in later. I am really good at noticing patterns like these. The most exciting thing is that we will probably in the real world for the next game, not stuck in Rapture or another city like it. This site was a really good idea, it makes the game seem even more grounded in the real world.

I mean I see the stuff about about how girls are getting kidnapped, and how they're little girls, which are the type that get turned into little sisters, but i honestly don't get anything else. I feel like a newbie in an esoteric cult group. All left out, while you guys are talking about all this secret stuff.

It sounds to me like something is kidnapping children. It is noted that the attacker resembles a doll that washed up on the beach. I'm going to guess that the doll belongs to a little sister and represents her big daddy protector. Thus, I assume that a big daddy (perhaps one without diving equipment and thus thin) is kidnapping little girls. I would guess that the purpose for this is to collect girls to become new little sisters. Assuming that The good ending is cannon (since the world hasn't been blow into a crater under Jack's new splicer dictatorship), then I'm guessing that somebody in Rapture has taken control and is trying to rebuild. He is either in control of the big daddies that remain or has found a way to make them leave and find little girls(who the daddies precive as being lost little sisters). Or perhaps the remaining Big Daddies themselves have spontaneously left and are looking for little sisters(and kidnapping girls who resemble them). I'm assume that there is only one creature responsible for all the kidnappings, since the kiddnapper is always described the same and only one red light is ever seen. so its possible that one lone big daddy survivor is responsible for kidnapping these new little sisters.

My explanation for the light is that it's the big daddy's helmet glow. A big daddy is probably tough enough to walk on the ocean floor the whole way, but he may have a specially designed suit(which is thin) for the journey. I would say that in Bioshock 2, for whatever reason, the player character goes to Rapture in pursuit of the mystery or one of the girls. The city probably has fallen apart into an even bigger mess since Bioshock, which would make for a creepier game. If the residence and creatures in the city have continued to change into even more horrid things over time, then that will also make for a much more creepy game.

ok im gonna be coping down wat the people on the radio say. and any sounds i hear that are wired.

1st. i hear footsteps on a metal floor.

2nd. i can hear something coming out of the ocean. (like a submarine) and it makes that splash sound.

3rd. if you boost up the sound really high you can hear HEAVY BREATHING, WAVES, FOOTSTEPS, AND A THINK AN ENGINE OF A BOAT

4TH. an old man saying "ok i've lost contact"

Yea, that's the ending I was talking about. I just call it the secret ending cause most people didn't get it since they either harvested all the sisters or freed all the sisters.

It seems to me Jack is trying to expand(if he is indeed evil). It would seem unwise to keep red lights on supposedly stealthy subs, but it seems they are indeed subs with bathyspheres to make landfall.Splicers, or new big daddies more suited to surface land and skinier, are kidnapping girls to repelnish adam deposits to create an army of genetically modified humans since you pretty much decimated the little sisters in the first game. The attacks seem to suggest rapture is somewhere off the coast of Europe, which also enforces the fact most rature residents had Euro accents.Of course this is all speculation.

check it out. Also, notice the x in the center of the ocean. This could possibly be rapture.

Edit: I do believe that I am awesome for finding this.

The fact that the culprits are being described as "unusually thin" indicates that they are NOT the Big Daddies we're familiar with.

They might be splicers wearing modified diving suits. Or, they may be a new kind of Big Daddy. (Big Mommy?) Or they could be something we've never even fathomed. (Ha ha! Get it? Fathomed?)

Since the site launched last week, they've added several documents to it. So the longer we wait, the more we'll learn.
That pun's not very deep, man.

Perhaps like everyone said, It's big mommies, or Splicers, or Big Splicer Mommies?

It seems like someone is trying to create new little sisters, indicating that the old ones are gone. I'm thinking that Jack might be the new antagonist, while you play as Jeremiah Lynch. It seems like a new enemy is coming our way. Something like a smaller, thinner Big Daddy or a Splicer/Daddy combination. I'm thinking that these "red lights" are some type of new bathysphere/submarine thing used to travel around. I don't know about anyone else, but this is really getting me interested in this game.

wtf wtf, i always get these things last!

i'm suuuuuper excited about bioshock 2, especially after the teaser trailers released! this site just makes it ninety-seven times better! ... then again, i may just be a complete SUCKER for viral marketing.

where'd you get the map with the US abductions? is it verified to be linked to this site?

Well, to be honest... I got it from here. http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=27584&start=30

I have in no way verified the findings and I am just going on instinct that this is true.

EDIT: If you go through the thread, some guy has extracted the sounds from the .swf file.
