I agree there seems to be a good blend of people here but...

I don't like metal.
I love folk music.
I love playing sports.
For my job I survey and catch protected species (eg. bats, dormice, reptiles, newts etc).
I am like a decaff Steve Irwin.

I wasn't aware there was a stereotype honestly.

There's a few PC and console elitists here so I'll just say I play both. And I have a SEGA CD and it is awesome.

I like Halo.
I am not an anti-theist.
I hate lawyers.
I hate running long distances (or at all, really).
My faith in humanity has never gone below 10% (as in, has never decreased more than 10%).
I love Bioware. LOVE.

..Other than that, I completely fit the avid gamer stereotype here?

I'm not sure what the stereotype is, but now that I think about it I might qualify:

I'm indifferent to Halo.
I haven't played MW2 but I know enough about it to say that if I did I'd hate it.
I watch ZP religiously and usually agree to some extent with Yahtzee, though Saints Row 2 is putting that to the test.
I just played Portal, which may have turned me into a Valve fanboy, though HL is falling into the just alright category.

Looks like I'm getting there. Is there any sort of charter of right thinking I can study to hurry the process along?

I'm not hostile towards religion or religious people. I know the difference between religion/spirituality and idiocy. Yes, there's a difference.

I don't go around saying things like "I've just lost my faith in humanity" or "I never had any faith in humanity in the first place" because that's a pretentious statement usually made by pretentious teenagers or young adults who have yet to grow out of their pretentious teenage phase.

I don't give a flying shit about the countless piracy threads that happen here. Seriously, what is it that makes you people bite? It's the exact same stuff over and over. Honestly, I can see both sides of the issue but I don't see how repeating my opinion on it over and over in any new piracy thread that pops up is not a waste of time.

I'm not a huge grammar nazi.

I'm not a huge search bar nazi.

I couldn't give a shit about Bioshock or Portal.

I Do agree with this part and repeated threads, I've tried to start fresh subjects before but it never gets anywhere lol

This.

I can't say anything about any stereotypes which may or may not exist about Escapists, but when it comes to gamers I'm different from the stereotype in that I'm female.

* I hate pretty much every FPS (though I don't hate Valve as a developer despite FPS being pretty much the only thing they make; Portal saves them), as well as Gears of War; I just hate pretty much everything with grizzled space marines.
* I am a Republican
* I'm not an anti-theist (I'm a Catholic who would go to church if there was one even remotely close to here)
* I haven't lost hope in humanity
* I am pretty much indifferent to JRPGs
* I don't think the Wii needs better graphics or needs to ditch motion control
* I have not even played Mass Effect, any Fallout game or MW2
* I hate post-apocalyptic settings and zombies in my games (most of the time)
* I still like Square-Enix
* I still like Nintendo
* I don't think gaming and gamer culture are perfect and immaculate; they actually do have faults, and I COULD SUPPORT the bill in California right now (with some changes) because I think gaming needs a wake-up call in the way it markets adult games to children
* I am over the age of 22
