That December 25th was actually Jesus' birthday. I was shocked when I learned birthdays were no big deal back then, so they didn't bother recording them. As a result, we don't know exactly when Jesus was really born. We just have a rough idea. To make it even worse, December 25th was adopted by the church a very long time ago because it's in the middle of some pagan celebration that used to be very popular. It's also close to the time of year we think Jesus was born anyway.

I used to believe that math was a useful skill in the working world...then I got there and found out that unless you're an accountant, it's pretty much useless.
Really? What job do you have? I've found it important in all of my jobs with the exception of working in a tomato field. Even my days as a factory worker needed math on a daily basis. Even estimating how long something will take you to finish based on how much you've done so far & how long it took you takes math.

I used to believe that democracy was good. Somehow politicians managed to eff that up for me. Stupid reality anyway.
Eh, in a democracy, the majority can vote to do bad things to people in the minority and it'd be legal. A republic is like a democracy but has laws restricting what the majority can vote for. That protects the minority as well as the core beliefs of the country. (It's common to mix the 2 up.) The USA is a republic and has been one of the best countries on Earth to live in for a long time. However, ANY form of gov't is only as good as its leader(s).
Someone mentioned capitalism no longer works. Capitalism not only made the US a superpower, it made it the last standing superpower. (How do you argue against that?) Some gov't restrictions in capitalism are useful, but we've gone overboard now. Too many gov't rules & regulations are screwing up the playfield & ruining the mechanisms of capitalism. That's why it's failing now.
I've said my 2 cents. Game on!
