I use math daily, most people do. Maybe not complex math, but math is important, unless you are a fry cook. Cause even the goof ball on the check out stand should know a bit of math.

For awhile I thought Texas wasn't part of the US.

Boy did I fell so retarded when I found out the truth.
Haha I'm from Texas, and we like to think of ourselves as from our own country, so don't lump us in with the rest of America.
Not where I lived in Texas.

Besides all that you don't actually want to go through the problems that will crop up if you did actually detach yourself from the US.

Well now what did I believe in? Loads of little urban legends. The kinds of things that you start to realize are wrong when you get a firmer grasp of the workings of the world.

Yeah, atheists like to think they were smarter than the mases their whole life. I doubt you were born faithless. Not meant to flame you though, just calling you out.

OP I used to believe that maxipads were simply diapers for women who can't hold it in until I learned the horrifying truth. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.
How can you not be born faithless.

You are not born with the knowledge of a God or some form of higher being seeing as when you are born, the only knowledge avaible is how to breathe

Haha don't take it too literally. I mean the majority of people in this generation of adults were raised religiously for an amount of time.

For the longest time I though the peices of lead jammed in me were going to work there way out by now...but nope! Still stuck in there
Similar thing here, only for me it's pebbles that have embedded themselves into my wrist. Yours is probably a much more interesting story.
nahhhh first time I got a pencil stuck in my thigh, then next time a kid tossed me a pencil and the point broke into right plam. One I got when reaching into my pocket and jabbing myself, and next is when a kid tripped and the pencil when into my plam....yeah... I would get a picture but my camera wouldn't focus.
Oh I almost got a nice big piece in my leg, but I fished that sucker out with some needle nose pliers and a penknife.

No Offense to anyone who believes.
Yeah, we take offense the moment you say believing in God is wrong, which if you read the title is what your post (and the three posts before yours) are saying.

As for me? I used to believe cartoons were awesome. Then came the sanitized shit Spongebob.
pretty sure that guy just said he didn't believe in god not saying he thought it was wrong. Please stop taking things seriously, people are aloud to state there opinions.

I used to believe that Nintendo made good gaming consoles :(

That silencers on guns actually make them almost whisper quiet. Trust me, games like CoD and action movies make them out like that but in Norway I fired my mates sniper rifle. I was all sure it wouldn't be too bad with the silence on but bloody hell my ear felt like it had just exploded.

I also read somewhere (although I can't remember where) that a silence on a pistol (don't know which one and it might have been an MP5 instead) make it as quiel as the speakers from a Marilyn Monroe concert.
I think it was here, actually.
And it said Marilyn Manson concert. Much louder than Monroe ever was.

Lesee...swimming after eating has no difference than eating than on an empty stomach, although you may feel slightly tired from the blood going to your stomach.

Meth does not damage your teeeth directly in any way. It's the effects that it has on your body, and poor diet that cause tooth decay.

That people are different. Men and women are the same. Irrational, illogical, idiocial. Stupid, thoughtless, screw-ups. Every race is the same too.

Okay, I live in Alberta, when I was still young enough to be dumb I was constantly mixing up the words Alberta and America. This was a very traumatic time, as it was around the time America went to war in Iraq. I didn't know shit about politics or geography, and was scared as hell that it would actually turn to open warfare within my home town. God, I look back now and say... "holy crap, no wonder nobody liked me back then!"

Thing is... *lets his nihilist side out* ... you can't really disprove anything. Aliens, leprechauns, zombies, a taco that shits ice cream, the fact that we are not all brains in jars somewhere. Same with science. Just because it doesn't follow the laws of physics or nature, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The laws of physics, nature, etc. were man made and based off what people knew, and people are ignorant, there is no exception to that. So, basically "impossible" translates to "we haven't found out how yet" and none existent to "we haven't found it yet".
Nonetheless, I still consider it to be offensive; it didn't appear as though they were simply saying, "I don't believe." Rather, they seemed disrespectful, looking to gain a few cheap laughs.

That December 25th was actually Jesus' birthday. I was shocked when I learned birthdays were no big deal back then, so they didn't bother recording them. As a result, we don't know exactly when Jesus was really born. We just have a rough idea. To make it even worse, December 25th was adopted by the church a very long time ago because it's in the middle of some pagan celebration that used to be very popular. It's also close to the time of year we think Jesus was born anyway.

Really? What job do you have? I've found it important in all of my jobs with the exception of working in a tomato field. Even my days as a factory worker needed math on a daily basis. Even estimating how long something will take you to finish based on how much you've done so far & how long it took you takes math.

I used to believe that democracy was good. Somehow politicians managed to eff that up for me. Stupid reality anyway.
Eh, in a democracy, the majority can vote to do bad things to people in the minority and it'd be legal. A republic is like a democracy but has laws restricting what the majority can vote for. That protects the minority as well as the core beliefs of the country. (It's common to mix the 2 up.) The USA is a republic and has been one of the best countries on Earth to live in for a long time. However, ANY form of gov't is only as good as its leader(s).

Someone mentioned capitalism no longer works. Capitalism not only made the US a superpower, it made it the last standing superpower. (How do you argue against that?) Some gov't restrictions in capitalism are useful, but we've gone overboard now. Too many gov't rules & regulations are screwing up the playfield & ruining the mechanisms of capitalism. That's why it's failing now.

I've said my 2 cents. Game on!

Lets see...
-That Justice and morals still exist
-The the government is more than a popularity contest
-That humans are generally good creatures
-That the human race can be brought together in the spirit of something larger than the individual
-That money didn't rule everything.
-That is was going to live in a time of peace and prosperity for all

Well yes, perhaps I should have made it clear that I mean anything above basic algebra & geometry. I was a computer programmer for a few years and all the math I needed to know was easily available either via the reporting platform or on the internet. I have a real problem with teachers who feel that math should be taught without the use of electronic aids, but that's another discussion for another time :)

[Insert religious belief here]
[Insert childhood fairytale here]

Here's something a little more practical:
I used to think that I was insane in a perfectly normal world. (It's the other way around)

I used to think that Jesus was born on December 25, but that's really the last day of Saturnalia (a Roman festival dedicated to having fun since the Roman government needed a distraction from losing a battle to Carthaginians)

As I understand it silencers are not for making you all quiet and ninja, and more for confusing the enemy as to where the noise is coming from.
