Oh, also!

"Fable 3: GAY & LESBIAN: Homosexual Themes: Players can choose themselves if they would like to be straight, gay or lesbian, or bisexual. Relationships
and marriages can occur within the game. Gay couples can have sex in the game, and can adopt children to form a family."

We must make sure our children don't know that such a thing as homosexuality exists! People can MARRY in this game!? THE HORROR!
How did you get that from that quote? I mean really what is the point of you saying that?

As some have said before, this can actually be a great thing because it is a resource that tells parents what is in a game, leaving the parents responsible for doing the research. Such material online can be easily understood, so no more "Well I didn't know there were hookers in Grand Theft Auto!!!"

However, what undermines any video game content evaluation is whether or not the raters actually play the game and are not just tossing in their own personal biases. Those two factors are pretty much a given because it would be equally deceptive to say that Movie Y has "mature sexual themes" when a couple is just kissing in the background of a shot or the person "reviewing" has merely heard that there are kissing scenes in said movie. As with the adage "Don't judge a book by its cover," don't present video game content (or movie, novel, music CD, ect. for that matter) based on unfounded claims.

But if you're dropping $60 for your child, shouldn't you at least be aware of what that sixty bucks is going towards? If the special addition had shotgun shells and condoms, would more of the irresponsible parents then heed the warnings on the box?!?

What's this? A Christian group? Blacklisting games?

I bet they're trying to ban them...

Greg Tito said:
"This is not an attempt to ban video games, or dictate whether people should play them," the website reads. "This is purely meant to inform parents who are concerned with the moral content/issues contained in video games and make available to them information which is not easily found."
...Oh. I see. That's... admirable?

I hope the Timothy Plan or whatever the investing portion is blocks off the YMCA because that place is devoid of "Christian morals".

My family was basically told not to come back because my brother has special needs.

Reading anything to do with "Christian" values always gets my blood boiling over that again.

I'm fine with them. Just as long as they refuse to buy a ticket for the ban-wagon, or drive it.

FF XIII "Gay/Lesbian: 2" holy shit this list is so funny xD
That made me crack up too. I was like, "Hmmm, I must've blacked out for a good portion of the game"
Oh, it made perfect sense to me, Vanille and Fang were pretty close, and Lightning was very manly and independent, but gay/lesbian? Thats a little harsh.

Thats like saying Ernie and Bert are ga-.... wait....

I like this. If the hypermoral did this instead of lobbying government to take away civil liberties, the rest of us wouldn't have such a problem with them.

Why is nudity a bad thing?
Why is it bad for children to play games where a character is homosexual?
why is this guy spending his time on a half-assed job the ESRB has already done?
Why did this make the news in the first place?

So many questions. I still do not understand how sex can be viewed upon as something negative. How are people born then? What sort of madmen find a penis or a vagina more offensive then someone being punched in the face, or worse, killed. I just do not understand how sex can earn a higher negative score than violence.
Sex is a private matter and violence is a public matter.

Yeah, I could see the whole Fang/Vanille thing, but surely that would come down to more, like, "sisterly" than lesbian.

And the Lightning thing just goes to show that the church believes that all women, independent of men, must be lesbians.
ZING! BURN!
But really, I'm just kidding, I don't mean that.

Eh wat, did you just say that murder's alright if a form of government tells you to do it, or if your a parent.

Why not add in some other arbitrary moral reasons? Perhaps you can murder someone because they scratched metal?

Haha, if you go to check out the list on the website, you are first greeted with this message,

"This is not an attempt to ban video games, or dictate whether people should play them."

Then it goes on to outline that you may be supporting these horrible companies by actually purchasing games they have made for kids, and you should know, so you know not to buy them next time. This is what is known as a back door, we don't want to ban any of these games, but we would be ok if companies producing them went out of business. Good Christian values there, punish the company because they may produce a "less wholesome" product, because we all know the company and not the people are responsible for this product being sold. They couldn't be filling a market demand when they produce titles not made for kids I guess.

I don't mind this. It is an honestly analyzed list of games with far more specific warnings than the extremely vague ESRB.
To those opposing it, it'll keep the 12-year-olds off COD, and you know you want that.
