That made me crack up too. I was like, "Hmmm, I must've blacked out for a good portion of the game"Torrasque said:FF XIII "Gay/Lesbian: 2" holy shit this list is so funny xD
Oh, I know that well enough. I just find the flood "justification" in the Bible convoluted and contradicting, personally, is all. But let's not get into that here. Just a side remark on my behalf.Ultratwinkie said:Well technically humans were getting out of hand and that was the reason for the flood. Read the Bible, dude. Remember a little story about 'god' asking a man to kill his son to prove his faith? Yeah, he was down for that test. God's all about the murder. Especially murder of the young.
Fine, a more blunt example. Certainly. Global flood that obviously would include infants/children. That ok? Or perhaps him murdering every first born child of Egypt? Take your pick. *shrugs*
OT: I personally think they are ignorant idiots for some of the things they put as "reasons" for not buying the games, but.. *Shrug* Not going to adversely harm me in any way with my gaming, so let them do whatever the heck they want. When they start (IF) attempting to force everyone else to conform to the same restrictions, then I will kindly tell them to fuck off.
Until then..
Indeed. Why is always these groups (and Fox News) that get the good, sexy versions of these games, now?! I feel held back. ReallyJosdeb said:That made me crack up too. Well, I needed to make sure my work was quality somehow didn't I? Cass certainly didn't seem to want to take one for the team (ever!).GiantRaven said:So...underwear is bad now? At least characters are depicted wearing it instead of without...
Also, the section for Alpha Protocol makes me lol. Somebody obviously didn't play it very much.
Also New Vegas 'suggesting' you had sex with a robot is putting it a bit lightly if you ask me. =P
You honestly think that if a parent sees a game and says "oh that man's murdering that other man because he's fighting to protect his country" or "that guy's maiming that other guy with a pitchfork to find a cure for his daughter's disease" then they're going to get it for their kids? It's just a list showing parents what they shouldn't be buying for their children. THEIR CHILDREN. And besides I totally understand why a Judeo-Christian group wouldn't want a game like "Alan Wake" to be bought. There is a LOT of supernatural and what could be considered occult things going on in that game. And if the guy in "Nier" is a hermaphrodite, THAT DOESN'T MAKE IT BETTER.Greg Tito said:I understand that not all parents have the desire or time to play through an entire game before letting their kids go to town, but I find the trite summations of these kinds of lists a little misleading. Gratuitous violence is one thing, but what if that violence is in service to your country, or if you must kill in order to save your child. Many games feature themes such as this but the narrative justification is never discussed in such a short list.

Bzzzt! Wrong. Sorry dude, scientists have actively debunked the global flood stories.Ultratwinkie said:Well technically humans were getting out of hand and that was the reason for the flood. intersexed. Hermaphrodite hasn't been the proper term for liek 30 years.Greg Tito said:Someone should tell them that the character in question is actually a dude, or at least a hermaphrodite.
Global flooding stories, yes. Obviously hyperbole to make the Biblical stories sound more "profound" than they actually were. Most scientific evidence to date accounts more or less for an isolated flood on a continental (correct this part if I mistake the realistic scale) scale, not global.Cliff_m85 said:Bzzzt! Wrong. Killing is still killing, no matter what kind of righteous cause you attach to it, including self-preservation. I think videogames aren't anywhere near simulating that experience, although it is the most prevalent experience in video games. Real dead bodies don't disappear into a cloud of nanomachines, or explode into clusters of gold coins and ammo, or melt into the landscape leaving only a red stain for 60 to 120 seconds, or flicker and disappear.Greg Tito said:Gratuitous violence is one thing, but what if that violence is in service to your country, or if you must kill in order to save your child.
Wait...so if the violence in question is 'justified' (however you do that...) it is OK for children to watch it, no matter how graphical? Sorry, but I think we should teach our children that violence has always to be the last resort...no matter the situation...I am not one that shouts for a ban of violent videogames, I enjoy them, too, but I don't think they belong into the hands of children. I hate to say this, but I definitely think Schwarzenegger is doing the right thing...Greg Tito said:I understand that not all parents have the desire or time to play through an entire game before letting their kids go to town, but I find the trite summations of these kinds of lists a little misleading.
